Flashback to 2006: Dems Fund Raised Off Dead American Soldiers Returning Home and Hurricane Katrina... (Video)

This makes any accusations about Republicans fundraising off the WH Benghazi stonewall seem trivial, doesn't it? They should be ashamed, but democrats have no shame anymore.

Report: Obama held more fundraising events to build cash for his re-election bid than all five Presidents since Richard Nixon combined

Did Obama ever stop campaigning?
(Daily Mail) — Barack Obama has already held more fundraising events to build cash for his re-election bid than all five Presidents since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book.
Obama is also the only president in the past 35 years to visit every electoral battleground state in his first year of office.

The figures, contained a in a new book called The Rise of the President’s Permanent Campaign by Brendan J. Doherty, due to be published by University Press of Kansas in July, give statistical backing to the notion that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.

Doherty, who has compiled statistics about presidential travel and fundraising going back to President Jimmy Carter in 1977, found that Obama had held 104 fundraisers by March 6th this year, compared to 94 held by Presidents Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Snr, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined.
Since then, Obama has held another 20 fundraisers, bringing his total to 124. Carter held four re-election fundraisers in 1980, Reagan zero in 1984, Bush Snr 19 in 1992, Clinton 14 in 1996 and Bush Jnr 57 in 2004.

Shameful: Jon Corzine still bundling money for Obama

Disgraced former governor of New Jersey and  former head of MF Global Jon Corzine bundled more the $500,000 recently for Obama.

Via Weekly Standard:
Barack Obama’s reelection campaign has released the most recent list of names of fundraising bundlers. On that list is Jon Corzine, the former governor of New Jersey and embattled money man, the former head of MF Global:
Corzine, according to the Obama campaign, has once again helped raise more than $500,000.
(He was likewise named a bundler in January, when the Obama campaign last released the names of their money men.)
“MF Global and its brokerage sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy after a $6.3 billion bet on the bonds of some of Europe’s most indebted nations prompted regulator concerns and a credit rating downgrade. Corzine quit MF Global Nov. 4,” Bloomberg reported.

The 1% pay $1000 to shake Obama's hand

The way President Obama hates the rich, he probably gave them a 'dirty handshake.'
(CBS Detroit) – Bomb sniffing dogs could be seen around Greenfield Village in Dearborn as officials prepared for President Barack Obama’s visit on Wednesday.
Supporters lined up bright and early to get in the door at The Henry Ford, including Lonnie Peek, who handed over $1,000 to stand in a rope line and shake the President’s hand.
Peek said paying that price will mean a bit of a sacrifice, but it’s worth it.
“A thousand dollars is a lot of money. But other folks are kickin’ in for their candidates, so what you do is you bite the bullet,” Peek said. “You wanna have your conscience good, to feel that this is what I did.
You know, you go without a couple of meals. We can miss a couple meals,” he said.
These rich Obama donors think $500 is the normal cost of a meal?

Senate Democrats Double-Down On Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is using the Obamacare contraceptive mandate as a fund-raising tool.
(CNSNews.com) – The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) – the campaign arm of the Senate Democratic Caucus – is using the controversy over the Obama administration’s contraceptive mandate to raise campaign funds.
The email, sent to potential Democratic donors, touts the Obama administration’s decision to require insurance providers to provide contraceptive and sterilization services free of charge.
The email, signed by DSCC Chair Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), calls opposition to the Obamacare mandate an “attack” on women’s health.
“Our right-wing opponents continue to launch attack after attack against women’s rights, women’s health, and women’s economic security — and we’ve got to fight back every single day,” the email says.
“The next battle over the Obama administration’s decision to make contraception more affordable under the new health care law is already underway.”
The DSCC says it has created a new grassroots effort, called the Standing Strong for Women Project – “to combat the Republican war on women.”

Good News: MoveOn.org sends E-Mail suggesting that the activist group could go belly-up without more donations

Via Washington Whispers:
“Imagine if MoveOn disappeared?” That’s the warning in a shocking new E-mail from the left-leaning organizing group that has done so much since 1998 to elect Democratic candidates like President Obama.
Executive Director Justin Ruben suggests that the activist group could go belly-up if supporters don’t raise $400,000, and fast.
“Imagine if MoveOn disappeared and the work so many people do through MoveOn stopped happening altogether. Not to get technical, but it would be bad. To avoid that — to keep MoveOn going and growing — costs money, even though we keep our staff small and work from home to keep overhead low. Right now, to make ends meet, we need to raise $400,000 by the end of the year,” writes Ruben.
Even a shrunken MoveOn would be a blow to Democrats in the upcoming 2012 elections.

NBA Players to raise money for Obama's re-election with an “Obama Classic” game

NBA players must be hoping for a bailout after they go bankrupt because of greed and an overly aggressive union..

(Politico) — It’s still possible to see NBA All Stars in action this year — if you’re willing to cough up cash for the Obama Victory Fund.

With extra time on their hands because of pro basketball’s lockout, super hoopsters Kevin Durant, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin are among a few dozen current and former NBA players who have committed to hit the hardwood for the first “Obama Classic” on Dec. 12, according to an Obama campaign Web page set up for the event.

“Athletes who support President Obama . . . will play actual games at the event in Washington, D.C.,” Michael Blake, deputy director of the Obama campaign’s “Operation Vote,” wrote in an e-mail to prospective donors that was obtained by POLITICO.

The NBA has canceled all of its games through mid-December because of the acrimonious work-stoppage, which began on July 1. Players union president Derek Fisher is listed among the athletes who will play at the Obama fundraiser.

Payback: Recipient of $107 Million Federal Tax Credit For Wind Power Project Holds Obama Fundraiser

If this happened in business, the person involved would be fired for conflict of interest if not outright fraud.
(Politico) — President Barack Obama will raise money in early October with a Missouri businessman whose company benefited from a $107 million federal tax credit to develop a wind power facility in his state.

Tom Carnahan, a scion of Missouri’s most prominent Democratic political family, is listed on Obama’s campaign website as a host of a $25,000-per-person fundraiser to be held in St. Louis on October 4.

His investment firm, Wind Capital Group, was helped by a sizable credit authorized in the stimulus, for an energy project in northwest Missouri.

Republicans argue that it’s inappropriate for the Obama campaign to raise money from a donor who has benefited directly from the Recovery Act.

Missouri Republican Party executive director Lloyd Smith compared the situation to the Solyndra affair, in which the Obama administration reportedly rushed federal support to a green-energy firm that subsequently collapsed.

Al Gore: Global Warming Skeptics and Tea Partiers are all "extremists" or something

The Groacle took time off saving the planet to fund-raise for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). He spent his time attacking Republicans who are anthropogenic global warming skeptics Tea Partiers.
(USA Today) — Former vice president Al Gore is blasting Tea Party supporters as “extremist” in a new fundraising pitch for House Democrats.
“Single-minded proponents of a dangerous and extremist agenda are working feverishly to roll back every Democratic gain we’ve ever made,” Gore says in an e-mail on behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
“The Tea Partiers now calling the shots in the Republican Party won’t back away from their radical agenda.
It’s not the first time the former vice president has used such rhetoric. In a July 25 blog post, Gore wrote about the dangers of “ideological extremists” in the GOP and Tea Party who balk at raising the nation’s debt ceiling. He compared them to skeptics of climate change.
Gore is asking for donations of $3 or more, so the DCCC can have a good financial showing for the month of September.

Rick Perry Uses Obama's Golf Obsession as Fund-raising Tool

Rick Perry is asking donors for $76. One dollar for every golf game President Obama has played.
(ABC News) — Rick Perry’s latest fundraising appeal looks to raise some money off President Obama’s golf game. In an email to supporters Thursday, Rob Johnson, Perry’s campaign manager, asked potential donors to open their pocketbooks to the amount of $76 — exactly the number of rounds of golf Obama has played since entering the White House.

“In honor of his prodigious golf habit, I ask you to donate $76 today — a dollar for each round of golf Obama has played since becoming president,” Johnson wrote.

A golfing theme exists throughout the donation request email, tying Obama’s handling of the economy to a round of golf.

“31 months, 12 days and 76 rounds of golf later, we still await the president’s plan to create jobs. Or, more precisely, his next plan following the failed stimulus that spent our children’s inheritance, exploded the debt and led to greater unemployment. Now the president wants a mulligan,” Johnson wrote in the email.

Now that all America's problems are solved, Obama goes back to work on his billion dollar campaign war chest

President Obama raised $3.6 million last night.
(Huff Po) — President Obama raised more than $3.6 million on the eve of his 50th birthday Wednesday night, at three birthday party-themed events in Chicago. Back in Washington, two private birthday parties, not fundraisers, are scheduled for him at the White House on Thursday, his actual birthday.
In a little over three hours on Wednesday, Obama held three events in the Windy City: a video teleconference, a large musical fundraiser and a private dinner. The financial benefit was significant: Aides reported that approximately 1,700 people attended the concert, where tickets started at $50. Later, at a private dinner, approximately 100 guests each paid the individual legal maximum donation of $35,800 to the Democratic National Committee.

Obama takes time off from golf to attend fundraisers

Well, at least President Obama is working hard at something.
(POLITICO) — The White House says President Obama isn’t focused on his reelection campaign, but tonight he will headline his 29th and 30th fundraisers for the year.
Mark Knoller of CBS News, tabulator of White House statistics, said Obama so far this year has raised money in six states plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
At the same point in former President George W. Bush’s reelection cycle, he had done only three fundraisers, Knoller said.
Obama in 2008 raised more than $745 million, setting a new record for presidential campaign spending. The 2012 effort is expected to generate a billion dollars. The two fundraisers tonight are at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Later this week, Obama will attend two more, in New York City.

Latest Tool to Fund-Raise Off Giffords' Shooting is Liberal Sen. Bernie Sanders

Successful Fund Raising
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has sent out a fund-raising letter in response to Rep. Giffords' shooting.

Via ABC News:
Dear Friend,

Given the recent tragedy in Arizona, as well as the start of the new Congress, I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few words with political friends in Vermont and throughout the country. I also want to thank the very many supporters who have begun contributing online to my 2012 reelection campaign at www.bernie.org. There is no question but that the Republican Party, big money corporate interests and right-wing organizations will vigorously oppose me. Your financial support now and in the future is much appreciated. Also, please do not hesitate to convey to me any ideas that you may have with regard to how we can best go forward in terms of public policy, as well as politically. While I cannot respond personally to every comment, I will read them all.

ARIZONA: What occurred this weekend in Tucson was tragic, and I join my congressional colleagues and the entire nation in sending my condolences to the victims of this horrible attack.

In terms of this savage shooting rampage, several points need to be made. First, this horrendous act of violence is not some kind of strange aberration for this area where, it appears, threats and acts of violence are part of the political climate. Nobody can honestly express surprise that such a tragedy finally occurred...
Of course the letter would have not been complete without insinuating blame on Sarah Palin.
Congresswoman Giffords publicly expressed concerns when Sarah Palin, on her website, placed her district in the cross-hairs of a rifle – and identified her by name... read more here.
