Shameful: Democrats harvest the votes of the severely mentally disabled...

This story is going to make you angry..
But even knowing this, I was not prepared for a conversation I had at Thanksgiving dinner with my brother-in-law, Henry, who has lived most of his life in a home for the mentally disabled and although now in his 40s, has the intelligence level of a 6-year-old.
“Obama saved me,” he said to me out of the blue.
“What do you mean?”
“I voted for him for president and now he’s saving me.”
I was taken aback by these words, since Henry had no idea who Obama was, or what a president might be, and would be unable to fill out a registration form let alone get to the polling place by himself.
So I asked him how he knew that and how he had registered and cast his vote. In halting, impeded speech he told me that the people who take care of him at the home filled out “the papers” to register him to vote, told him how Obama cared for him, even taught him the Obama chants, and then took him to the polling place to vote. They did the same for all of the mentally disabled patients in their care, approximately 60 in all.
How anyone can identify with a political party that resorts to this kind of despicable behavior is beyond me.

Obama Promises Latinos to Pursue Amnesty for Illegals in Second Term

If there is to be a deal on comprehensive immigration reform, President Obama isn't the man for the job. That will take a Republican to craft a deal that can get through the House.

Via The Hill:
Obama vowed in an interview with Univision to pursue comprehensive immigration reform and attacked Romney and GOP lawmakers, saying they would oppose his efforts.
President Obama promised to pursue immigration reform in his second term, but said Republicans in Congress may keep him from succeeding.
“I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term,” Obama said in an interview with Univision set to air on Sunday. “I want to try this year. The challenge we’ve got on immigration reform is very simple. I’ve got a majority of Democrats who are prepared to vote for it, and I’ve got no Republicans who are prepared to vote for it.”

Wisconsin Demos Have Nun's Votes Tossed

Valley of Our Lady Monastery

Hmm...They may burn in hell for this one.

The Badger Catholic reported:
In Sauk County, there’s a convent, Valley of our Lady Monastery that is inhabited by 18 Cistercian nuns.[They are good nuns btw] These nuns take a vow of silence, with their main occupation being the making the communion wafers. I am not making this up, the website couldn’t be better: http://www.nunocist.org/page2.html. The majority of these nuns stay at the Monastery their entire life…living the simplest of simple lives.
Every election the Town of Sumpter Clerk, Donna Ziegler, drops off 18 ballots so the nuns can vote. She later picks them up, prior to the election in a single, large, sealed envelope—not opening the large envelope prior to the election.
This year, she opened the large enveloped and removed the ballots…counted them, and included them as part of the total 24 absentee ballots for the town.
Fast forward to the recount….last Friday it was discovered that the absentee ballots cast by the nuns didn’t include witness signatures…and no one noticed prior to the election. The Kloppenburg team argued that the ballots should be thrown out—never mind that the GAB has never enforced lack of witness signature as grounds for throwing out a ballot with any regularity—and was successful.
Yesterday, the canvas board reconsidered—bringing in the Town Clerk (Ziegler) to discuss the situation, and she very passionately objected to the dismissal—stating she knows these women, trusts them and has always handled the nun’s absentee ballots the same way. Again, the canvas board after a long and somewhat contentious conversation voted to reject the ballots—at the insistence of the Kloppenburg attorney.

Water for Obamacare votes?

In what may be another backroom deal, two 'Blue Dog' Democrats from the Central Valley of California have affirmed their support for Obamacare. Water is rationed in California and the San Joaquin Valley have had their water turned off in order to protect a tiny fish called the delta smelt. This devastated the farming in the area and led to 41% unemployment in some areas of San Joaquin Valley. President Obama has been ignoring this travesty of justice. Now that votes are needed for Obamacare, the water allocation for this area has been increased and ,suddenly, two 'Blue Dog' Democrats have cleared up their indecision and moved into the 'yes' category. They even let the two new Obamacare supporting Congressmen help make the announcement of increased water allocation. This smells like vote buying.
Is this Another Backroom Deal to Force Obama’s Bill Down the American People’s Throats?

As a vote approaches on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare, Code Red is now considering two supposedly “undecided” California Democrats, Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa, to now be “yes” votes.

The U.S. Department of Interior announced yesterday that it is increasing water allocations for the Central Valley of California, a region that depends on these water allocations to support local agriculture and jobs. The region has recently been starved for water and as a result unemployment has soared. Not surprisingly, Cardoza and Costa had a hand in the announcement:

“Typically, Reclamation would release the March allocation update around March 22nd, but moved up the announcement at the urging of Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and Congressmen Costa and Cardoza.”(“Interior Announces Increased Water Supply Allocations in California,” U.S. Department of Interior news release, 3/16/10)

Rep. Cleaver: Obama doesn't have the votes to pass health care reform

According to this three-term Democrat from Kansas City, Pelosi currently has only about 201 health care reform votes. The number needed is 217. Democrats will be very close if Stupak folds.

Prime Buzz reported:
Congressman Emanuel Cleaver said today on KCUR's "Up to Date" that President Barack Obama doesn't have the votes to pass health care reform in the U.S. House.

"We're not at 217," Cleaver said, referring to the number needed to pass the bill.

Later, the three-term Democrat from Kansas City said the passage number could be 216 given vacancies in the House.

The count today, Cleaver said, is about 201 health care supporters.

That number, he added, could fluctuate significantly as a final vote nears.

House Votes to Cut Off ACORN Funding

The ACORN organization is being cracked more every day. The release of several video tapes of ACORN misconduct and a Senate vote to strip ACORN of all funding have taken a toll on the organization in the last few days. Now, the House has voted overwhelmingly to defund ACORN.

From The Hill:
In a vote of 345-75-2 on Thursday, the House approved a GOP amendment to a student loan bill that would defund the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Since 1995, the nonprofit, grass-roots group has received more that $50 million in federal funds.

This vote comes in the wake of videos released last week in which ACORN employees tell undercover citizen journalists posing as a pimp and prostitute how to evade federal tax laws. It was the latest in a wave of controversies that the self-described, nonpartisan organization has been in the center of -- primariliy concerning voter fraud.

Drudge Report: Dems lack the votes

From the Drudge Report:

At least 44 more moderate Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record in opposition to the current health care bill in the House, a Hill source claims. Likewise, at least 57 liberal Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record saying they will vote against a health care bill without a strong public option.

Unless multiple Democrats flip on their stated position on health care, Speaker Pelosi lacks the votes to pass a bill through the House on the strength of Democrat votes alone.
