MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough: FBI Hillary Clinton investigation is “far more advanced than we the public knows.”

The rest of the panel did not disagree...

Via Daily Caller:
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Friday that sources have told him that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton is “far more advanced than we the public knows.”
Friday on “Morning Joe,” panelist Cokie Roberts predicted that if Hillary Clinton gets indicted, her run for president would be “over.” (RELATED: Rep. Issa: FBI ‘Would Like To Indict Both Huma [Abedin] And Hillary Clinton’)
“Most of us around this table are hearing from multiple sources … that the Hillary Clinton investigation [by] the FBI is far more progressed,” Scarborough said. “Mika and I have been hearing it from the top officials in the Obama administration for actually several months now, and we can’t go to a meeting in Washington where we don’t hear this.”

Police van driver refusing to be interviewed in Gray death investigation. (private camera reveals undisclosed stop)

Ruh roh!

Via CNN:
Hwang Jung, owner of the market at North Fremont Avenue and Mosher Street where the newly disclosed stop took place, said officers in suits came into his store last week asking to see surveillance footage from April 12 at around 8:30 a.m.
After viewing the footage, the officers gave him their number and said two more officers would come copy the footage, which happened a few hours later, Hwang said.
The footage was lost, he said, when his store was looted in the days after Gray's death. He said he couldn't be sure exactly what day the officers came by but he thought it was early in the week of April 19.
It was April 24, a Friday, that Deputy Commissioner Davis told reporters that there had only been three stops en route to the police station: the first to put leg irons on Gray, the second "to deal with Mr. Gray" (an incident, he said, that remained under investigation) and the third to pick up a prisoner in an unrelated matter.
The new stop, Davis said Thursday, came between the first and second stops.[...]

Batts, the police commissioner, has said Gray should have been buckled in.
"We know he was not buckled in the transport wagon, as he should've been. No excuses for that, period," Batts said last week.
As for when Gray suffered a severe spinal injury, Batts said there was potential it could have happened either in or outside the police van.
Police have said five of the six officers have been interviewed by detectives, while the sixth invoked the right to decline to be questioned.
WJLA reported the van driver was the officer who has not be interviewed.

Stupid: Eric Holder Finally finds something he wants to investigate...

It's an Obama outhouse library float in Nebraska!

Via The Washington Times:
The U.S. Department of Justice has sent a member of its Community Relations Service team to investigate a Nebraska parade float that criticized President Obama.A Fourth of July parade float featured at the annual Independence Day parade in Norfolk sparked criticism when it depicted a zombie-like figure resembling Mr. Obama standing outside an outhouse, which was labeled the “Obama Presidential Library.”The Nebraska Democratic Party called the float one of the “worst shows of racism and disrespect for the office of the presidency that Nebraska has ever seen.”

Eric Holder: No. Obama donor lawyer in charge of IRS investigation won't testify before Congress...

What's Holder afraid of?

Via Washington Times
The Justice Department said Thursday it is refusing to let a key lawyer testify to the House oversight committee on the criminal investigation into the IRS, saying that to let her brief Congress could potentially skew its probe.
But oversight committee Republicans said blocking lawyer Barbara Bosserman from testifying only makes the Justice’s investigation look more partisan.
After an internal audit last year revealed the IRS was unfairly targeting tea party groups for intrusive scrutiny and blocking their applications for tax-exempt status, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. called for a criminal probe into the tax agency.
Eight months later, the probe has shown few public signs of progress, and many of the tea party victims say they still haven’t heard from the FBI or Justice Department lawyers.
House Republicans said they were concerned about the direction of the probe, and Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican and a subcommittee chairman on the House oversight committee, asked Ms. Bosserman to testify at a hearing next week.
The GOP has identified her as the lead lawyer on the investigation, and they have questioned her role, given her history as a significant political donor to President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns.

Obvious: Attorney leading IRS Tea Party targeting investigation donated thousands to Obama

Trusting Attorney General Eric Holder to arrange an unbiased investigation is like having the fox guard the hen house.

Via Breitbart:
Rep. Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sent a letter today to Attorney General Eric Holder revealing new information that reached the committee on who is conducting the internal investigations at the IRS regarding the inappropriate targeting of conservative groups. Seeking an explanation as to why the FBI has been unresponsive to the committee, Rep. Issa noted that current and former IRS officials revealed Barbara Bosserman, a trial attorney within the IRS's Civil Rights Commission, is leading the internal investigation.
Bosserman's leadership raises all sorts of questions about the investigation's fairness. Rep. Issa's investigations revealed that she has been a loyal financial backer of the DNC since 2004 and has donated multiple times personally to President Obama's two campaigns. Her personal donation total reaches $6,750 to both the party and President Obama.

DOJ scandal builds: Obama DOJ investigated NY Times reporter for leaks...

This investigation was about a story last year about the Stuxnet virus last year.

Via The Atlantic:
The New York Times reports the Department of Justice investigated national security leaks given to Times reporter David Sanger over his story last year about the Stuxnet virus by pulling all the email and phone records of government officials who communicated with the reporter. Last summer, Sanger reported the U.S. helped develop the Stuxnet virus and used it to attack Iran, becoming the first country to carry out a sustained cyber attack with the intent of destroying another country’s infrastructure. The was some hoopla and a hullaballoo about leaks and DOJ investigations, the Associated Press case, and now a year later we’re finding out just how far things went.
The Times’ Ethan Bronner, Charlie Savage and Scott Shane report the FBI requested for any phone and email logs from the White House, the Defense Department and other “intelligence agencies” that showed any contact between employees and Sanger. It does not appear they went so far as to seize Sanger’s telephone records or emails, as they did with the Associates Press and Fox News reporter James Rosen. They at least got creative this time. Instead of looking at his communication records, they looked at the communications between him and every government employee by looking on their end.
The Times report does paint a very detailed picture of how far the Justice Department goes with these investigations, even before they get into the legally and morally questionable practice of subpoenaing a reporters’ email and phone records. As a result of the intense scrutiny, the Times says some sources are starting to clam up.

Silly: Obama promises Eric Holder will thoroughly investigate Eric Holder

Seriously? Obama thinks Americans are idiots...

Via HotAir

Shot: President Obama’s speech today:
Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs. Our focus must be on those who break the law. That is why I have called on Congress to pass a media shield law to guard against government over-reach. I have raised these issues with the Attorney General, who shares my concern. So he has agreed to review existing Department of Justice guidelines governing investigations that involve reporters, and will convene a group of media organizations to hear their concerns as part of that review. And I have directed the Attorney General to report back to me by July 12th.
Chaser: NBC News:
Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a “possible co-conspirator” in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday.

Report: Two of Eric Holder's subordinates seeking whistleblower status in 'Gunwalking' scandal

Ruh-roh!

Via Examiner:
Sources described as "previously highly credible" and "close to the Gunwalker investigation" are claiming "one and perhaps two sources within the Department of Justice headquarters...have approached the Issa Committee seeking whistleblower status," Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars blog is reporting this afternoon in an exclusive story.

"One source, who reported that there were at least two of Eric Holder's subordinates who 'came in from the cold,' characterized them as 'high-level" DOJ employees 'with knowledge of Eric Holder's actions before and after" the 4 February 2011 DOJ letter denying that the DOJ and its subordinate agencies knew about "gunwalking," Vanderboegh writes, noting one source said the whistleblowers bring with them "the keys to the kingdom." Good News: House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton is expanding Obamacare investigation

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton has sent letters to 18 union and industry groups requesting information about their meetings with Team Obama before the passage of Obamacare. He previously sent requests for information to the Obama administration, but the most transparent administration in history is stonewalling his document request.
(Daily Caller) — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton is expanding his investigation into the meetings between special interest groups and the Obama White House that set the stage for the passage of Obamacare, sending document requests to 12 industry groups and unions that played a key role in the negotiations.

In April 18 letters to the groups, Upton asks for extensive details and documents about each organization’s interactions with the White House in regards to the health care law.

The requests come as the Obama White House has so far declined to provide its documents about the meetings.

At issue are special deals struck between interest groups and President Obama to either garner the support of major industry sectors or soften their criticism of the health care law.

Did Jack Conway Tip Off Brother about Drug Investigation?

KY AG and Democrat nominee for Senate Conway is denying wrongdoing, but the allegations are flying. Conway's campaign admit the AG helped his brother get a lawyer. No charges have been filed, but two detectives have been placed on leave.

The Daily Caller
reported:
Jack Conway, the Democratic attorney general of Kentucky who is running for U.S. Senate, says he was not involved in a recent criminal investigation involving his brother and drug trafficking.

But it appears he — along with other law enforcement officials — tipped his brother off about the investigation.

The campaign made a statement distancing Conway from his brother’s investigation in a Saturday story in Louisville’s Courier-Journal. The story was the first to disclose this summer’s drug probe

Obama administration under investigation for illegal use of private tax records

In an Aug. 27 briefing, an administration official told some reporters Koch Industries didn't pay any income tax. The problem is Koch Industries is a privately held enterprise and doesn't file public financial records. Koch Industries is also owned by two libertarian brothers who fund conservative causes. President Obama has previously singled out the Koch brothers for criticism. Tax records are private and can not be disclosed or used for political reasons. At the request of Republicans, a federal inspector general is now instigating.

The Washington Times reported:
A federal inspector general is looking into whether the Obama administration used confidential taxpayer information in an effort to attack a political opponent, Koch Industries.

The review was revealed Tuesday by Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, two weeks after he and a handful of other top Senate Republicans called for the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax issues to look into the matter, saying either administration officials had illegal access to taxpayer information or were inappropriately speculating in public about the company’s tax status.

This appears to be another example of Chicago-style politics.

DOJ Inspector General to Investigate Obama Administration's Selective Voter Rights Enforcement

The Obama administration failed to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation. A whistle-blower has also claimed they have a policy of refusing to prosecute any minority for voter rights abuse.

Michelle Malkin reported:
Just obtained this letter from Justice Department Inspector General Glenn Fine to members of Congress informing them that he will open up a review of the Obama administration’s selective enforcement of civil rights laws by the Voting Section office of DOJ.

You can read the letter here.

Rep. Darrell Issa Has Ugly Surprise Planned For Obama

If When Republicans take control of the House after this year's elections, Rep. Darrell Issa will likely become chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in 2011. He is planning on almost doubling it's staff and launching investigations into wrong-doing by the Obama administration. Hmm...

The Politico reported:
Rep. Darrell Issa, the conservative firebrand whose specialty is lobbing corruption allegations at the Obama White House, is making plans to hire dozens of subpoena-wielding investigators if Republicans win the House this fall.

Issa has told Republican leadership that if he becomes chairman, he wants to roughly double his staff from 40 to between 70 and 80. And he is not subtle about what that means for President Barack Obama.

Rep. Issa: Obama's refusal to investigate 'Climategate' emails is 'unconscionable'

The UN is investigating Climategate. The British Government ICO is investigating Climategate. The Pennsylvania State University is investigating Climategate. Of course, these Climategate investigations are likely to be a whitewash. President Obama is refusing to even go through the motions. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) took Obama to task for ignoring the biggest scientific scandal of our lifetime.

From The Hill:
The White House's unwillingness to open a similar inquiry could now only be characterized as "a sad abdication of their responsibility to ensure that U.S. policies are not driven by corrupted science and data," the congressman added.

Obama Stonewalls Senate Hasan Investigation

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will begin hearings on the Ft. Hood attack Thursday. They won't be hearing from any members of Team Obama. Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) was rebuffed in his request. Let the cover up begin.

From the Washington Post:
The first public congressional hearing on the Fort Hood attack will not include testimony from any current federal law enforcement, military or intelligence officials because the Obama administration “declined to provide any” such witnesses, according to a Senate committee source.

DOJ to investigate ACORN funding

The Justice Department's inspector general is looking into ACORN to see if they received any DOJ grant money. Don't expect too much from Obama's DOJ. After all, they dropped the charges against the Black Panther's accused of voter intimidation prosecution.

FOX News reported:
The Justice Department's inspector general has agreed to investigate whether ACORN has applied for or received any DOJ grant money, in the wake of bipartisan criticism of the community activist group's operation.

HHS investigates Humana for criticizing Obamacare

Humana sent seniors a mailer warning them that the planned $500 billion in medicare cuts could affect their benefits. They urged seniors to contact their Congressman.
The Humana mailer focused squarely on the Medicare Advantage program.

"While these programs need to be made more efficient, if the proposed funding cut levels become law, millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage health plans so valuable," it said...

The HHS took offense at Humana exercising their free speech rights.
HHS ordered the company to immediately halt any such mailings, and remove any related materials from its Web site. In the letter, the government also said it may take other action against Humana.

Here is a screen shot of the mailer. Click image for a larger view.

PDF of full mailer is here.

Although there is nothing misleading about this mailer, HHS alleged that seniors were so senile they would mistake the mailer for an official Medicare communication.
In a warning letter to Humana, HHS said the government is concerned that the mailer "is misleading and confusing" partly because the company's lobbying campaign could be mistaken for an official communication about Medicare benefits.

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., was outraged.
"It is wholly unacceptable for insurance companies to mislead seniors regarding any subject — particularly on a subject as important to them, and to the nation, as health care reform," Baucus said Monday, disclosing the HHS investigation.

Sen. Max Baucus, just because you don't think the Medicare cuts will lead to benefit cuts doesn't make it the indisputable truth. The government has no right to censor communications between companies and their customers as long as no law is broken.
