Surprise: House GOP ready to break campaign promise to fight President Obama’s admin amnesty

Actually, very few people are surprised.

Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) suggested that House Republicans are on the verge of breaking their campaign promise to fight President Obama’s administrative amnesty, as evidenced by the legislative text currently being circulated.
Sessions said that the proposed language “fails to meet [the] test” established by Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, who promised earlier this year that the GOP would do everything possible to thwart Obama’s executive orders.
“The executive amnesty language is substantially weaker than the language the House adopted this summer, and does not reject the central tenets of the President’s plan: work permits, Social Security and Medicare to 5 million illegal immigrants—reducing wages, jobs and benefits for Americans,” Sessions said in the statement expressing his dissatisfaction with the results of a House Republican conference meeting.

Change: Minnesota to eliminate differences in high school sports on the field or in locker rooms, bathrooms, and hotel rooms

Minnesotans are currently facing a fast and furious onslaught by the transgender lobby, which seems to be dictating policy to the Minnesota State High School League. The MSHSL decides policy for all extracurricular activities in public, private, religious, and home schools. It’s currently in the process of outlawing all sex distinctions in high-school sports. On December 4, it plans to install an athletic policy granting transgender students the choice to play on either boys’ or girls’ teams.
In this scheme, there would be no accounting for sex differences in high school sports on the field or in locker rooms, bathrooms, and hotel rooms. It forbids any camaraderie rooted in the biological reality of one’s sex, or any consideration of the reality of the opposite sex. In fact, to affirm that reality would basically be a crime. So the policy would ultimately abolish girls’ and boys’ sports alike.

Kiss of death: Obama endorses Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) re-election bid

I guess Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) has nothing to lose at this point. She is down 15 points according to some polling.

In a conference call today, President Barack Obama endorsed Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) in her bid to win her Senate seat, which she has held for more than a decade, against Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA).
The endorsement will most likely serve as a burden for Landrieu, rather than an asset, as a majority of Louisiana voters do not approve of Obama’s agenda and the way he has handled Obamacare or the economy.
Landrieu has spent her entire re-election avoiding Obama and his policies, which she has largely supported.

Forcing agencies to make only one new hire for every three workers leaving and trimming the federal workforce by 10 percent is just one of the new cost- cutting suggestions from the Congressional Budget Office.
In its latest report, CBO has outlined a series of deficit reducing changes for federal employees that could save $100 billion over the next decade.
Retirement benefits for federal employees are also on the table. The CBO report suggests an alternative pension benefit calculation for both civilian and military retirees.
Under the current system, a civilian retiree's annuity is based on the average of the three highest consecutive years of earnings, while the military considers a retiree's annuity based on the average of his or her 36 months of highest earnings.
If CBO's proposal was implemented, civilian retirement would be based on a five- year average instead, and military retirees would have their annuities based on a 60-month highest earning average. The change, if carried out, would have a 10- year savings of $3.1 billion, according to the report.

Scary: ISIS claims to have dirty bomb...

Islamic State fanatics claim to have constructed a dirty bomb after stealing 40kg of uranium from an Iraqi university.
Militants boasted of the device on social media, with one even commenting on the destruction such a bomb would wreak in London, four months after the chemical was reported missing from Mosul University.
Among extremists making online threats to the West is British explosives expert Hamayun Tariq, who fled his home in Dudley, West Midlands, for the Middle East in 2012.
Using the Muslim name, Muslim-al-Britani, he posted on Twitter: ‘O by the way Islamic State does have a Dirty bomb. We found some Radio active material from Mosul university,’ the Mirror reports.
He continued: ‘We’ll find out what dirty bombs are and what they do. We’ll also discuss what might happen if one actually went off in a public area.
