Some on global warming research ship stuck in Antarctic ice to be rescued by helicopter...

What? The ice isn't melting?

Via The Mercury:
The Australian icebreaker Aurora Australis today failed in its second attempt to free the Russian-registered ship -- which has been stuck since Christmas Day with 76 people aboard.
"The Australian Maritime Safety Authority's Rescue Co-ordination Centre was advised this morning by the Aurora Australis that the ship will not be able to reach the MV Akademik Shokalskiy," AMSA said in a statement.
"The Aurora Australis advised RCC Australia it would be at risk of becoming beset by ice itself if it continued to make further rescue attempts."
The latest weather forecast for the area is of possible heavy snow and rain as well as possible fog and poor visibility.
The AMSA spokeswoman said 52 scientists and passengers would be evacuated from the ship in a helicopter based with the Chinese ice breaker Xue Long.

The next nanny state target in NY is horse-drawn carriages

Apparently, making a horse pull a carriage is inhumane or something.  After the horses aren't needed anymore, they can be legally turned into horseburger. That will be so much more humane.

Via NYDN:
Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio vowed to act quickly to abolish horse-drawn carriages in the city.
“We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio said in response to a question at his press conference announcing his schools chancellor pick Monday.
“It’s over,” he said.
De Blasio said he would work with existing drivers to set them up with alternative vehicles to ferry tourists around Central Park.
De Blasio and advocacy groups who support him say it’s inhumane to make the horses work the dangerous city streets, but drivers insist their horses are well cared for and there’s no reason to end the industry.

Heartache: Greenpeace moonbat couldn't get vegetarian food in Russian prison...

Sadly, in America he would likely had his diet accommodated.

Via Daily Mail:
A Greenpeace campaigner claims he was forced to live on bread and water while being held in a Russian prison because it didn’t offer a vegetarian alternative.
Antony Perrett arrived home yesterday after spending two months in prisons in Murmansk and St Petersburg for trying to hang a climate change banner on an oil rig.
The former town councillor is one a group of environmental activists known as the Arctic 30 who were being held in Russia on hooliganism charges.
Since being released under a new amnesty law, the 33-year-old has revealed he refused to eat some of the food offered to him behind bars.
‘All the prison food had low grade meat of unknown origin in it. I’m a vegetarian and I lost a lot of weight,’ he said from his home in Newport, South Wales.

Obamacare is going to raise your snack prices in 2014...

Obamacare is bringing the nanny state to vending machines...

Office workers in search of snacks will be counting calories along with their change under new labeling regulations for vending machines included in President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law.
Requiring calorie information to be displayed on roughly 5 million vending machines nationwide will help consumers make healthier choices, says the Food and Drug Administration, which is expected to release final rules early next year. It estimates the cost to the vending machine industry at $25.8 million initially and $24 million per year after that, but says if just .02 percent of obese adults ate 100 fewer calories a week, the savings to the health care system would be at least that great.
The rules will apply to about 10,800 companies that operate 20 or more machines...

41 percent called 2013 a bad year for their families...

Obama feels their pain...

Via Washington Examiner:
Overshadowed by the bungled debut of Obamacare and congressional gridlock, most Americans in a new poll dubbed 2013 a bad year that will be quickly forgotten. For more than four-in-10, the perils of 2013 hit home hard.
“Put simply, most Americans are happy to see 2013 go,” said the latest Economist/YouGov Poll.
— 54 percent called 2013 a “bad year” for the world. Another 15 percent called it a “very bad year,” with just 3 percent calling it a “very good year” and 29 percent a “good year.”
— Only 13 percent of Republicans say 2013 has been a good year for the world.
— 41 percent called 2013 a bad or very bad year for their families.

A Veteran responds to Paul Ryan fundraising letter

Paul Ryan betrayed veterans and conservatives in his budget deal with the devil democrats. He then sent a fundraising letter to one of the veterans he betrayed. Here is the veteran's response.

FB Friends,

I’m still mulling this Paul Ryan budget deal that stole money from every military retiree (past, present and future). This morning, upon opening my email, I noticed I had a letter from Congressman Paul Ryan…and it was begging me for an “emergency end of the year donation.” It only proves what we already know. The folks in Washington are indeed clueless. Instead of hitting the delete button, I decided to call Congressman Ryan out on his audacity and lack of self-awareness. I sent the following to him. I’m also posting it on the FB USAF Chiefs page as an open letter to the Congressman. If you’re a retiree, I will tell you we may have lost the battle, but not the war. If you’re inclined and find it worthy, let’s flood social media with this letter and see if we can get some traction. Thanks.

To Congressman Paul Ryan
Congressman Ryan,
Please note that this request by you for a cash donation from me is extremely unfortunate and very ill-timed. You see sir, I am one of the military retirees your “bipartisan” budget just impacted. You and every Republican (both in the House and Senate that voted to pass this travesty betrayed and broke trust with me and everyone like me. You may not know us by name, but we’re the people, Congressman, who answered our Nation’s call, some of us at a very early age to willingly serve YOU and others LIKE YOU so you could safely attend college and pursue your personal ambitions without fear of harm.
You might also want to note that for at least 20 years, my brothers-in-arms answered that call of duty EVERY SINGLE DAY, without fail, without complaint, without enough money to sustain our loved ones we had to leave behind while we DID OUR JOB in every corner of the Earth. And for that service, we were given absolute assurance our so-called retirement benefits would be protected by law. The very law you shattered in your zeal to impress your Democratic cohorts in your back room deal–with the enemy. Yes, I said it. The liberal Democrats are an enemy to the American people and our Nation. Your lack of judgement and eagerness to compromise on the backs of us who protected you is sickening. Congressman, you and every Republican that voted for injuring military retirees have engaged in a complicit, sordid affair with the Democrats who’s objective has always been to dismantle the military. By climbing into their bed on this issue, you have confirmed you are absolutely no better than they and have proven it with your vote.
Congressman Ryan, the audacity which you display is noteworthy, but to unceremoniously snatch earned money from a small group that has added so much more value than the paltry $6B you looked to “save” (which is all smoke and mirrors and you know it), is reprehensible and insulting.
We have, despite the hardships, meager salaries and harsh conditions, have performed with honor and excellence…in silence, which is something most members of Congress have no idea about doing. Our job approval was, is and always be better than yours. We knew our mission and we got it done, then handed it off to a new generation in better shape than we found it.
Your ability to look us in the eye, take money from us (apparently there was ZERO, other source of waste within the federal government that you could have recovered this money from…right, got it), while simultaneously holding your hand out to beg (with passion) for our cash is stunning. Your actions have proven you do not have the tremendous intellect you’ve sold the American people on. I say, with all seriousness, Congressman, what you lack in intellect and spinal rigidity, you make up for in cajones.
I hope you and your cowardly, Republican “colleagues” hear a message from me loud and clear. You will NEVER receive another cent of financial support from me. Further, if you happen to be at a Capitol Hill dinner or at a K Street cocktail party with RNC Chair Reince Priebus, Rep. Ron Barber, Sen. Jeff Flake or Sen. John McCain, I would be honored if you communicate with them that I am launching an effort to ensure NONE of you traitorous “representatives of the people” ever receive another vote from a military retiree. Remove me from your contact lists.

Chief Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret)

Defense: DNC urges supporters to vote for Democrats so that Republicans can’t impeach Obama

There are probably already enough votes in the House to impeach Obama. The House only needs a simple majority. Boehner lacks the cohones to do it. Of course, we would never get the 2/3 majority needed in the Senate to convict.

Via The Daily Caller:
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) sent out a paranoid email Saturday evening urging supporters to vote for Democrats so that Republicans can’t impeach President Obama.
The email, subject line “Impeachment,” was sent to Obama for America supporters, imploring them to contribute to the DNC’s 2014 efforts. “What do these people all have in common?,” the email asked, featuring quotes from Republican Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio of Michigan, and Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas discussing the possibility of impeaching Obama for one of his numerous instances of presidential misconduct.

Surprise: Pajama boy is a liberal...

Would the majority of Americans prefer to raise their sons to be Pajama boys or Duck Dynasty boys?

Via The Daily Caller:
Ethan Krupp, the little man who played “Pajama Boy” in a widely mocked Obamacare ad, once characterized himself as a “liberal f*ck.”
Krupp, an Organizing for Action (OFA) content writer who became the face of progressive America while wearing a onesie pajama suit, also remarked that gays “are all liberal f*cks” and criticized a “conservative gay pr*ck” on his now-deleted WordPress blog, entitled “Not Being Creative.”
“I am a Liberal F*ck,” Krupp wrote in one post. “A Liberal F*ck is not a Democrat, but rather someone who combines political data and theory, extreme leftist views and sarcasm to win any argument while make the opponents feel terrible about themselves. I won every argument but one.”

Your health insurance plan is being hit with a 2% tax and other fees in 2014

Congratulations. You are finding out what is in Obamacare.
WASHINGTON — Here comes the ObamaCare tax bill.
The cost of President Obama’s massive health-care law will hit Americans in 2014 as new taxes pile up on their insurance premiums and on their income-tax bills.
Most insurers aren’t advertising the ObamaCare taxes that are added on to premiums, opting instead to discretely pass them on to customers while quietly lobbying lawmakers for a break.
But one insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, laid bare the taxes on its bills with a separate line item for “Affordable Care Act Fees and Taxes.”
The new taxes on one customer’s bill added up to $23.14 a month, or $277.68 annually, according to Kaiser Health News. It boosted the monthly premium from $322.26 to $345.40 for that individual.
The new taxes and fees include a 2 percent levy on every health plan, which is expected to net about $8 billion for the government in 2014 and increase to $14.3 billion in 2018.

After dozens of black youth knockout whites, the Obama administration finally files hate-crimes charge

The Obama administration waited for a white youth to knockout a black person. It seems some of us are more equal than others in the eyes of Obama and Eric Holder.

Via The Washington Times:
The Obama administration filed a federal hate-crimes charge Thursday against a man whom authorities accused of using the “knockout game” to target a black man, videotaping it, and then bragging about the assault to strangers.
The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout” case after the game became an Internet and media phenomenon. It chose a case in which the person accused is white, even though most other cases reported in the news have involved black assailants.
In this case, the man accused is 27-year-old Conrad Alvin Barrett, who the Justice Department says attacked a 79-year-old black man in Fulshear, Texas, just west of Houston. Justice Department officials said they brought the case to make a point about hate crimes.

CNN Poll: GOP powering ahead in 2014 midterm poll...

Obama and Obamacare is dragging demos down...
Washington (CNN) - Democrats have lost their advantage and Republicans now have a slight edge in the battle for control of Congress, according to a new national poll.
A CNN/ORC International survey released Thursday also indicates that President Barack Obama may be dragging down Democratic congressional candidates, and that the 2014 midterm elections are shaping up to be a low-turnout event, with only three in 10 registered voters extremely or very enthusiastic about voting next year.

Two months ago, Democrats held a 50%-42% advantage among registered voters in a generic ballot, which asked respondents to choose between a Democrat or Republican in their congressional district without identifying the candidates. That result came after congressional Republicans appeared to overplay their hand in the bitter fight over the federal government shutdown and the debt ceiling.
But the Democratic lead evaporated, and a CNN poll a month ago indicated the GOP holding a 49%-47% lead. The new survey, conducted in mid-December, indicates Republicans with a 49%-44% edge over the Democrats. Keep on reading...

The Un-Affordable Care Act

There isn't an affordable plan for many parts of the country.
More than half of the counties in 34 states using the federal health insurance exchange lack even a bronze plan that’s affordable — by the government’s own definition — for 40-year-old couples who make just a little too much for financial assistance, a USA TODAY analysis shows.
Many of these counties are in rural, less populous areas that already had limited choice and pricey plans, but many others are heavily populated, such as Bergen County, N.J., and Philadelphia and Milwaukee counties.
More than a third don’t offer an affordable plan in the four tiers of coverage known as bronze, silver, gold or platinum for people buying individual plans who are 50 or older and ineligible for subsidies.
Those making more than 400% of the federal poverty limit — $47,780 for an individual or $61,496 for a couple — are ineligible for subsidies to buy insurance.
The USA TODAY analysis looked at whether premiums for the least expensive plan in any of the metal levels was more than 8% of household income. That’s similar to the affordability test used by the federal government to determine whether premiums are so expensive consumers aren’t required to buy plans under the Affordable Care Act.
The number of people who earn close to the subsidy cutoff and are priced out of affordable coverage may be a small slice of the estimated 4.4 million people buying their own insurance and ineligible for subsidies. But the analysis clearly shows how the sticker shock hitting many in the middle class, including the self-employed and early retirees, isn’t just a perception problem. The lack of counties with affordable plans means many middle-class people will either opt out of insurance or pay too much to buy it.

Is Santa a conservative?

According to this list, he must be. Here are a few of the 13 reasons.

1. Did you ever hear Santa wishing someone a “Happy Holidays?” No, for the man in red, it’s always “Merry Christmas” – no matter who it offends.
2. He lives in the North Pole – a tax haven with a zero percent tax rate – hardly a sign of someone who believes in government and wants to pay his “fair share.”
3. Santa’s whole mission is one of private charity. There are no records of the Santa Claus movement being given even $1 in public assistance. Santa epitomizes charity over welfare.
4. He is the sole employer in the area of huge amounts of unskilled elves. Does anyone really believe they are getting minimum wage? They certainly aren’t getting $15 an hour as the unions demand....
11. The naughty or nice list also shows an objective moral compass. Santa apparently rejects liberal relativism or explaining away bad behavior with pop psychology and ‘culture’ issues.
12. His love of cookies and large stomach shows a blatant disregard for Michelle Obama’s healthy eating program, as it encourages children to believe that eating vast quantities of cookies is perfectly acceptable. If he were a liberal, he’d be asking for broccoli and cranberry juice....

No, No, No: Santa and helper face possible charges in Poland for drunk driving horse-drawn sleigh

This is so wrong...

Via Breitbart:

Witnesses said the 51-year-old Santa and his 31-year-old female helper were both visibly drunk as they rode a horse-drawn sleigh down a busy road in Ustrzykach Dolnych and they were thrown from the vehicle when a car horn spooked their horse, the British newspaper the Mirror reported Monday.

"It reared up and sent them smashing into the wall on the corner of the street," said witness Zdzislaw Molodynski, who caught the incident on camera.

"It was a mixture of 'Ho, ho, ho' and 'No, no, no,'" he said.

"Technically, they were drunk while in charge of a vehicle on the road," the spokesman said. "We are looking at pressing charges."

Nanny State Alert: San Fransisco bans wood burning for Christmas...

So much for roasting chestnuts over an open fire...

Via Fox News:
Sorry, San Francisco. No chestnuts on an open fire this Christmas Eve.
Bay Area officials have banned residents from burning wood, indoors and outdoors, on Tuesday — and might extend the ban into Christmas Day — as part of an air quality initiative.
The order came from a governmental body called the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. It issued a “Winter Spare the Air Alert,” which prohibits people from burning wood, manufactured logs or “any other solid fuels” in fireplaces and outdoor fire pits.
According to KTVU, air quality officials said pollution was expected to hit unhealthy levels amid a high-pressure system.
“We want everyone to enjoy their holiday this week, but unfortunately, weather conditions are causing unhealthy, muddy air again,” said Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the air quality district, according to KTVU.

War on Christmas: VA refuses to allow kids to send vets Merry Christmas cards...

If someone had told you 40 years ago this would happen, you wouldn't have believed it.
They thought it was a kind holiday gesture, but dozens of Prosper students didn't get to deliver the Christmas cards they made for local veterans because of a VA policy against specific religious cards and phrasing.[...]
Gracie and her brother, Luke, put a lot of thought and effort into their Christmas cards.
"It includes ‘Merry Christmas,' and when you open it up, it says 'Thank you for your service' and the American flag," said Luke.
Fifty-two students at Grace Academy in Prosper spent Friday making the cards they planned to hand deliver to bedridden veterans at the VA hospital in Dallas Monday morning.
When Gracie and Luke's mom, Andrea, found out they wouldn't be able to, she was outraged.
"This wasn't the country I grew up in, when you couldn't say ‘Merry Christmas,' you couldn't say ‘God bless you' or reference any scripture," she said.
The cards were the idea of Susan Chapman, a math teacher at Grace Academy. She's married to a veteran and volunteers with the American Legion and other veterans' organizations.
"It really didn't occur to me there would be a problem with distributing Christmas cards," said Chapman.
She didn't find out about the VA's holiday card policy until she called Monday morning to arrange details for the cards' delivery.
"I told him my students made cards, we'd like to bring them down for the veterans," said Chapman. "And he said, 'That's great. We're thrilled to have them, except the only thing is, we can't accept anything that says ‘Merry Christmas' or ‘God bless you' or any scriptural references because of all the red tape.'"

Obama's Obamacare enrollment is fake like everything else about him...

Obama's identity could not be verified in government database when they tried to sign him up for Obamacare.

Via TIME:
. . . The aide added that Obama only signed himself up, and not the rest of the First Family. Obama also did not enroll through the troubled Healthcare.gov or the D.C. exchange’s website. Aides signed him up in person over the weekend, due to the “complicated nature of the President’s case,” the White House aide said. Some of Obama’s personal information is not readily accessible on the government databases used by the website for identity verification.
Obama's personal info is not available on the government databases? Really? Why not? The rest of us have our data in there and we are far more susceptible to identity fraud. No one is going to steal Obama's id and pose as Barack Obama. There have long been claims Obama is using a fraudulent social security number. This will add fuel to that fire.

Obama's Christmas card does not mention Christmas...

It's not like Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus. Oh, wait a minute...

Via The Bookworm Room:
There’s been a fair amount written about the Obama Christmas card. It’s a pop-up card, which has an expensive look that’s unseemly as millions lose their insurance and millions more have joined the ranks of the perpetually unemployed. It’s colors are cool, not warm, which seems to refute the warmth that Christmas brings to people in the dark of winter. It shows a vacant building, which seems symbolic when one considers that Obama invariable answer to all the scandals revealed in the past year is to disclaim knowledge or responsibility. And lastly, despite going out at Christmas time and despite Obama’s claims to be a Christian, the card makes no mention of Christmas. Keep in mind with this last point that the card ostensibly comes not from “the government” but from a man and his family.

CNN Poll finds new Obamacare approval low

Via CNN:
Only 35% of those questioned in the poll say they support the health care law, a 5-point drop in less than a month. Sixty-two percent say they oppose the law, up four points from November.
Nearly all of the newfound opposition is coming from women.
“Opposition to Obamacare rose six points among women, from 54% in November to 60% now, while opinion of the new law remained virtually unchanged among men,” CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. “That’s bad news for an administration that is reaching out to moms across the country in an effort to make Obamacare a success.”

Flashback: Komen canceled many events in 2013; citing 37% drop in participation...

Komen canceled many events in 2013; citing 37% drop in participation. They blamed it on the economy, but much of the backlash is likely from abortion opponents who are disappointed with Komen's decision to continue funding Planned Parenthood. Komen made a serious mistake in caving to liberal's demands. Conservative give much more to charity.
"Participation levels over the last four years have made it difficult to sustain an event of this magnitude in 14 cities."
Komen spokeswoman Andrea Rader said the events had seen a 37% decline over the last four years but acknowledged that the drop was "a little more dramatic" last year.
Following the February 2012 outcry over the group's decision to cut its contributions to Planned Parenthood, which provides a range of health services to women including abortion, Komen reversed its decision.
Ms Rader said the "vast majority" of people had moved on from the controversy.
"There are some folks who will never be back and we know that, and we hope that they will support breast cancer charities because the work's important," she said.

One in four Americans have either lost their health insurance because of Obamacare or know someone who has, according to a new poll shared first with The Daily Caller.
The YG Network Congressional District Poll of 1,652 likely voters in 11 competitive U.S. House districts indicates Obamacare will be a powerful issue that motivates voters in important races in 2014.

Surprise: Obamacare slashes Medicare home healthcare 14% January 1, 2014

As Nancy Pelosi said, we have to learn what's in it. She thought we would love Obamacare then. The truth is most Americans are coming to hate it. Slashing medical care for seniors isn't popular.
The Administration made this announcement very quietly, waiting to do so until the very end of the last Friday before Thanksgiving, perhaps thinking that most people would not be looking.
To be sure, the timing of the Administration’s quiet announcement did keep it out of sight – for a while.  That ended on December 12th, however, when the Washington Examiner broke the story in an article headlined “ObamaCare forcing 14 percent cut in Medicare’s home health program.”  FOX News and the Daily Caller have also picked up this story, so full attention is now being paid to this unprecedented cut – and the harm it will do to frail seniors across America.
As the Examiner’s Richard Pollock wrote, “An estimated 3.5 million poor and ill homebound senior citizens will wake up on New Year’s Day to discover ObamaCare has slashed funding for their home health care program.”  He’s right: on January 1st, the Obama Administration will sharply cut Medicare funding for home healthcare services.

Let the buyer beware of digital content bought online...

So, if you bought the rights to view a movie from Amazon and the company that made the movie decides to restrict it, Amazon will pull it from your digital library? That seems like theft to me. Shame on both Amazon and Disney.
Disney has decided to pull access to several purchased Christmas videos from Amazon during the holiday season, as the movie studio wants its TV-channel to have the content exclusively. Affected customers have seen their videos disappear from their online libraries, showing once again that not everything you buy is actually yours to keep.[...]
One of the affected customers of Disney’s restrictive policy is Bill, who informed BoingBoing that the Christmas themed ‘Disney Prep & Landing’ he bought for his kids last year had been pulled from his library.
“Amazon has explained to me that Disney can pull their content at any time and ‘at this time they’ve pulled that show for exclusivity on their own channel.’ In other words, Amazon sold me a Christmas special my kids can’t watch during the run up to Christmas,” Bill notes.
“It’ll be available in July though!” he adds.

Illegal immigrants have children smuggled across the border and DHS delivers them to them

This is so outrageous it sounds like a hoax, but it's not.

The Department of Homeland Security is transporting illegal immigrant children smuggled into the United States to their illegal immigrant parents living in the United States “every day,” according to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent. In an interview with The Daily Caller Thursday, the president of the union representing more than 7,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and staff, Chris Crane elaborated on a recent court order out of South Texas. In the Dec. 13 court order, a federal judge chastised the Department of Homeland Security for transporting illegal immigrant children smuggled to the U.S. and detained at the border to their illegal immigrant parents living in the country — noting that the court had had four such cases in “as many weeks.” “The DHS policy is a dangerous course of action,” U.S. District Court Judge Andrew S. GLAAD finds Our People Are Not So Glad About Them Getting Phil Robertson Fired

GLAAD are the anti free speech Nazis who instigated this whole faux outrage.

Via Yahoo TV:
In the fallout over Wednesday’s suspension of “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson by A&E for anti-gay and racist remarks, GLAAD is experiencing record levels of backlash.

“In the five-and-a-half years I’ve worked at GLAAD, I’ve never received so many violently angry phone calls and social media posts attacking GLAAD for us speaking out against these comments,” the media watchdog organization’s vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told TheWrap.

He said those reactions range from those who simply believe as Robertson believes to those who feel that GLAAD and A&E’s actions limit the reality star’s free speech.

“I don’t think this is about the first amendment,” Ferraro said. “I feel it’s more about the America we live in today. That is one where Americans, gay and straight, are able to speak out when people in the public eye make anti-gay and racist remarks.”
Robertson’.[...]

GLAAD spoke with A&E representatives on Wednesday morning to discuss why people would be offended by the comments and calls to action. ”They took this very seriously, as soon as the news broke,” Ferraro said.

After the meeting, GLAAD issued its statement on Robertson’s comments. A&E initially released a statement from Robertson in which he said he would “never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.” But the network declined to comment itself until Wednesday night, when it announced the suspension, which GLAAD applauded.

Obama throws insurance companies under the bus...

It's hard to work up any sympathy for health insurance companies. They willingly plotted this Obamacare disaster with Obama and democrats. Even though they undoubtedly didn't like the new rules and regulations, the idea of the government forcing 40 million Americans to buy their product was too much for their greedy souls to resist. Insurance companies willingly screwed their loyal customers in exchange for expected future profits. There is just one problem with their plan. They trusted Obama. Many of the recent emergency changes to provide political cover to Obama and democrats have carried a high price for insurance companies. Now, Obama is letting people who had their insurance canceled, but bought overpriced Obamacare plans, to cancel them and return to catastrophic plans. This will cause many young healthy people to leave the Obamacare insurance pools. Insurance companies are going to loose their butts next year and have to hope Obama will bail them out. They are completely at the mercy of a man they can't trust.

Statistics: Dems have 1% chance of taking House in 2014....

Nancy Pelosi hardest hit...

Via The Monkey Cage:
But as we noted in that post, any specific seat estimate comes with a lot of uncertainty.  Any forecasting model is a simplification of reality and will not make perfect predictions, which makes uncertainty inevitable. As a result, it can be more useful to convert estimates to probabilities. This enables us to answer questions such as, “What is the chance that the Democrats retake the House?”
In short, what we do is lots of simulations based on our model’s results. (In statistical terms, we are sampling from the error distribution of the model.) The uncertainty underlying the model means that simulations will generate a range of forecasts. The question is, how many of those simulations forecast that the Democrats would win 218 or more seats?
The answer is very few. Just over 1 percent, in fact. This is a testament to the fact that current conditions in the country, and the presence of so many Republican incumbents, make it hard for the Democrats to pick up many seats. In order for that forecast to change measurably in the Democrats’ favor, the economy needs to grow more rapidly or President Obama needs to become more popular, or both. A few more Republican retirements and strong Democratic challengers wouldn’t hurt, either.

Obamacare Fail: 58 percent of uninsured have not looked up information about health insurance exchanges

I doubt their will be a last minute mad rush to the website.

Via NRO:
. . . Most of the uninsured haven’t even looked at the exchanges yet: “Ten percent of uninsured Americans in the poll say they have applied for insurance under the exchanges. Thirty-two percent say they have looked up information about the exchanges but have not applied; 58 percent have not looked up information about health insurance exchanges.” Oh, and 59 percent of the uninsured think getting health insurance would “hurt them financially.” Remember, all of this grief and aggravation is driven by the aim to get the uninsured to buy insurance. Just how many Americans are losing insurance? “In the poll, 13 percent of insured Americans say they’ve received a notice that their health insurance plan is being cancelled or changed because it does not meet the minimum coverage requirements under the 2010 health care law.”

Robertson family: "we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm"

A&E is in duck soup now. This show is their biggest moneymaker.

Via THR:
"We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision.  We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word.  While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible," reads a statement posted on the family's Duck Commander website. "Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart' and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.  We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty.  Again, thank you for your continued support of our family."

The great Iran "diplomatic coup” is mostly a figment of the Obama administration's imagination...

Obama has been played again...
The official narrative in Tehran is that Iran signed nothing. “There is no treaty and no pact,” says Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham, “only a statement of intent.”
Originally, Iran’s official media had presented the accord as a treaty (qarardad) but it now refers to a “letter of agreement” (tavafoq nameh).
The initial narrative claimed that the P5+1 group of nations that negotiated the deal with Iran had recognized the Islamic Republic’s right to enrich uranium and agreed to start lifting sanctions over a six-month period. In exchange, Iran would slow its uranium enrichment and postpone for six months the installation of equipment for producing plutonium, an alternate route to making a bomb. A later narrative claimed that the accord wasn’t automatic and that the two sides had appointed experts to decide the details (“modalities”) and fix a timetable.
On Sunday, an editorial in the daily Kayhan, published by the office of “Supreme Guide” Ali Khameini, claimed that the “six month” period of the accord was meaningless and that a final agreement might “even take 20 years to negotiate.”[...]
Thus Tehran has been in negotiations with Russia and three other littoral states over sharing the resources of the Caspian Sea since 1992. Talks with Iraq over implementing Resolution 598 of the UN Security Council and reopening the Shatt al-Arab border estuary have been going on since 2004. Other talks over sharing water resources have been going on with Afghanistan since 2003; talks over joint exploitation of gas resources with Qatar have been going on for 25 years.

Gay A&E Stars Have a Message for Phil Robertson: “man a$$ beats vagina any day of the week”

I with Phil Robertson on this one, but that's just me. I wonder if they will be suspended by A&E?

Via TMZ:
An openly gay couple on A&E’s “Storage Wars: New York” is NOT offended by the homophobic comments made by fellow A&E’er and “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson — telling TMZ, they just feel bad for him … because man ass beats vagina any day of the week. Chris Morelli and Tad Eaton tell us, “We could give a s**t what he thinks … [man ass] is tighter.”

Racists: Democrats pay minority campaign staff 70% of what they pay whites...

Wow. Just wow.

Via Free Beacon:
Democratic federal-level campaigns are paying minority staffers significantly less than their white counterparts, according to a study from the New Organizing Institute (NOI). “African American staffers on Democratic federal-level campaigns are paid 70 cents on the dollar compared to their white counterparts; Hispanics are paid 68 cents on the dollar,”writes Ethan Roeder, executive director of NOI. The study finds that although Republican campaign staffs hire a disproportionately high number of white men, the income disparities between racial groups are not nearly as pronounced as on Democratic campaigns. Duck Dynasty patriarch falls victim to LGBT political correctness...

A&E will regret this decision...
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.
"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."
The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with the magazine. He'll likely appear in season four, which bows Jan. 15, since production is largely wrapped.
"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus," Robertson says in the January issue of the men's magazine. "That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."

Revenge: India cuts off U.S. diplomats cheap booze to protest the strip search of their diplomat...

Actually, it has been reported the strip search included a body cavity search. Our law enforcement personel have become thugs with no common sense. If Obama ever visits India again, they should return the favor.

Via NBC News:
India has blocked perks such as cheap alcohol and food imports at the U.S. Embassy after one of its top diplomats was arrested on fraud charges and strip-searched in New York City.
Deputy Consul General Devyani Khobragade has been accused of submitting false documents to obtain a work visa for her Manhattan housekeeper, an Indian national whom she allegedly paid less than $3 an hour.
The 39-year-old diplomat's arrest has sparked a storm between the U.S. and ally India, with lawmakers in Delhi calling her alleged treatment "despicable" and "barbaric."

Confirmed: Illegal aliens voted in Ohio 2012 presidential election

Ohio actually has a voter photo id requirement. can you imagine how often this happens in democratic states where there is no photo id law?

Via Fox News:
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Wednesday that his office found 17 non-citizens illegally cast ballots in the 2012 presidential election — and has referred the case for possible prosecution.
The alleged crime would be a notable case of voter fraud in a key swing state. By law, only American citizens are allowed the privilege of casting ballots for the nation’s leaders.
Ohio officials say that did not stop some from getting around the system.
“I have a responsibility to uphold election law, and under both federal and state law you must be a citizen to vote,” said Husted, a Republican who has aggressively tried to investigate voter fraud cases in his state.
Husted also found that 274 non-citizens remain on the voting rolls.
President Obama beat Mitt Romney in Ohio by just 2 percentage points in November 2012.

Obamacare payoff: WH picks Max Baucus as ambassador to China...

Sen. Max Baucus was key to getting Obamacare passed through the Senate. He would have faced a tough challenge if he ran for re-election.

Via WaPo:
The White House is set to select outgoing Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) as its pick for ambassador to China, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and a Baucus ally confirmed Wednesday.
Baucus, 72, previously announced that he won't seek reelection to the Senate in 2014.
Senate aides familiar with the plans said that the move has been in the works for several days.
The news was first reported by Politico. Baucus aides declined to comment Wednesday evening when asked about it outside the Senate Chamber.
As chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, Baucus played a key role in crafting President Obama's health-care law and was among the first Democrats to publicly fret about the law's implementation -- worries that later turned out to be well-founded.

Senate Republicans fail to stop military retiree pension cuts...

The Senate voted to keep giving welfare to illegal immigrants instead of paying our military retirees the pension they were promised.
A final effort by Senate Republicans to halt cuts to pensions of military retirees failed late Tuesday, after Democrats blocked an amendment to the controversial budget bill.
The two-year budget agreement, which cleared a key test vote earlier in the day, was expected to get a final vote no later than Wednesday.
Ahead of the final vote, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., tried unsuccessfully to use a parliamentary tactic to force a vote on the amendment, which he wrote to undo the cuts for military retirees.
A provision in the already House-passed bill would cut retirement benefits for military retirees by $6 billion over 10 years.
Sessions wanted to instead eliminate an estimated $4.2 billion in annual spending by reining in an IRS credit that illegal immigrants have claimed.[...]
Sessions’ office claimed the vote Tuesday to block the amendment was a vote to "cut military pensions instead of cutting welfare for illegal immigrants."

China lands on the moon, NASA spends $390,000 to create a cartoon superhero to teach children about global warming

Priorities...

Via Free Beacon:
Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R., Okla.) annualWastebook was released Tuesday, detailing billions in frivolous government spending on everything from wine to romance novels.
As the federal debt surpassed $17 trillion in 2013, Coburn’s office named its top 100 examples of government waste, which cost taxpayers more than $30 billion this year.
“When it comes to spending your money,” Coburn wrote, “those in Washington tend to see no waste, speak no waste, and cut no waste.” [...]
While no manned missions to space are planned, NASA spent $360,000 paying people to “lie around and do nothing” for a study on weightlessness in space.
The agency spent $3 million for a seminar on “how the legislative process really works” in Congress; $237,205 to study red crabs; and $390,000 to create a cartoon superhero, the “Green Ninja,” to teach children about global warming.
The character fights his archenemies “plastic man, coal man, and junky corporate man.”
