The influx of unaccompanied alien children will cost one school district in Louisiana $4.6 million alone this year, as local school budgets across the country are bearing the brunt of the thousands of illegal immigrant minors who crossed the border this summer.
According to the Louisiana department of education’s response to an inquiry by Sen. David Vitter (R., La.), the Jefferson Parish School System will be forced to hire dozens more teachers to teach English to the more than 500 illegal alien children who have been relocated there.
“It’s a very significant cost to the Louisiana taxpayer, and that’s just education,” Vitter told the Washington Free Beacon on Thursday. “We have plenty of other categories that are impacted, like health care, emergency room and other health care, and other benefits. That’s just public education.”

Border Security Fail: 378 unaccompanied children ages two or younger crossed the border in the last 9 months

Border security is a joke. Until both political parties take border security seriously, immigration reform should be off the table.

Hundreds of infants and toddlers ages 2 years or younger have allegedly been apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol while crossing the border illegally without a parent or guardian in the past year.
From October 1, 2013 to June 11, Border Patrol detained 378 unaccompanied children ages two or younger, according to data obtained by Fusion from the office of a high-ranking Democratic senator. Of those children, 95 were infants under 1 year old.
Fusion tried multiple times by phone and in writing to confirm the reports with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security, but no official would comment specifically, and instead referred to a previous statement. The Department of Health and Human Services, charged with the care of unaccompanied minors caught at the border, did not respond to a request for comment.
Omar Zamora, a spokesperson for the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley sector, limited his comment to: “We are receiving children of all ages.”

In the Dec. 13 court order, a federal judge chastised the Department of Homeland Security for transporting illegal immigrant children smuggled to the U.S. and detained at the border to their illegal immigrant parents living in the country — noting that the court had had four such cases in “as many weeks.” “The DHS policy is a dangerous course of action,” U.S. District Court Judge Andrew S. Hamas recently broadcast a children’s television program in which kids extolled the virtue of suicide attacks and expressed their desire to blow themselves up in order to liberate Jerusalem and the entirety of Palestine.

The al-Aqsa TV program, translated by MEMRI, featured the grandchildren of Umm Nidal, a former Hamas MP from Gaza who celebrated the deaths of her three sons who carried out suicide attacks against Israelis. Umm Nidal died in March in the Gaza.
Umm Nidal’s granddaughter said she was proud of the actions of her father — who produced the first Kassam rockets to hit southern Israel — and wished to be a martyr for Hamas as well.

Another granddaughter launched into a rousing speech in which she called “upon all Muslim mothers, daughters, and sisters – Al-Aqsa Mosque expects us to be the next generation to march toward it. Do not spare us the commanders, the soldiers, and the martyrdom-lovers.”

“The mothers send their sons to victory or to paradise, Allah willing,” she said.
The grandchildren of Umm Nidal, none of whom appeared to be above the age of 10, then sang in chorus: “Jihad bestows pride and glory upon you when you become a martyrdom-seeker. Oh explosive device of glory – with her blood she created freedom. Ask [suicide bomber] Fatima Al-Najjar how one should live a life of pride.”

President Barack Obama gave ten states given permission to leave a few children behind today because actually requiring teachers to get results is asking too much.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says his decision to free 10 states from the No Child Left Behind education law will give the flexibility they need to set high standards for students and hold schools accountable.

Obama spoke Thursday at the White House. He says he's giving 10 states waivers from the strict and sweeping requirements. The states are getting leeway in exchange for promises to improve the way schools teach and evaluate students.

If you wonder what happened to McDain's Restaurant in Monroeville, Pennsylvania after they banned children under the age of six, they didn't go out of business. They are reporting a 20% increase in business. Am I the only person with mixed feelings on this?

MONROEVILLE, Pa. -- In July, McDain's Restaurant started a ban on children younger than 6. The story quickly spread from Monroeville and went viral on the Internet, being featured on CNN and Yahoo!

Four months later, owner Mike Vuick told Channel 4 Action News that he has seen a 20 percent increase in business at his eatery on Broadway Boulevard.

"To go in a positive direction of such a magnitude really surprises me," Vuick said Friday.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the government will be rolling out a different airport pat-down policy for children under 12 in the coming months, and these children will no longer have to take off their shoes to be screened.

Napolitano says the traveling public can expect to see some of these changes in the coming months.
Some travelers and privacy advocates have complained that children, who don’t appear to pose terror threats, are subject to intimate pat-downs that involve Transportation Security Administration screeners touching private areas. Children under 12 will also be spared the hassle of taking off their shoes as they go through check point security, Napolitano said.

Oh my! Obamacare does not cover pre-existing conditions for children until 2014!

I guess Democrats should have actually read the bill before they passed it. President Obama will have a hard time removing his foot from his mouth this time. He said as recently as Friday:

"This is a patient's bill of rights on steroids," the president said Friday at George Mason University in Virginia. "Starting this year, thousands of uninsured Americans with pre-existing conditions will be able to purchase health insurance, some for the very first time. Starting this year, insurance companies will be banned forever from denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions."

Now that Obamacare has passed, AP reported:

Under the new law, insurance companies still would be able to refuse new coverage to children because of a pre-existing medical problem, said Karen Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the main congressional panels that wrote the bill Obama signed into law Tuesday...

The Principal, Dr. Denise King, of the New Jersey school where kids were videotaped being taught to sing a song praising Obama is unapologetic.

The principal of a New Jersey elementary school where young students were videotaped singing the praises of President Obama is making no apologies for the videotape and says she would allow the performance again if she could, according to parents who spoke with her Thursday night.

Three parents told FOXNews.com that Dr. Denise King, principal of B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., defended the controversial performance, which was videotaped and posted on YouTube, when they approached her during a "Back to School" event.

It seems King is a huge Obama supporter.

King has long been a fan of Obama, hanging pictures of the president in her school's hallways and touting her trip to his inauguration in the school yearbook.

Included in the full-page yearbook spread were Obama campaign slogans ("Yes we can! Yes we did!") and photos King took in Washington on Jan. 20, when she attended the inauguration.

Debbie Rowe admits Michael Jackson did not father her children

The tabloid 'News of the World' claims to have done an exclusive interview with the mother of Michael Jackson's oldest children and she dropped some bombshells.

According to News of the World:

MICHAEL Jackson's two eldest kids face a tug-of-love battle after their mum Debbie Rowe confessed he was not their father.

In an astonishing interview Debbie - mother of Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 - said she was artificially inseminated by an anonymous donor.

And she told how, despite Jackson's death, she does not WANT custody of the children and NEVER expects to see them again.

It means Prince and Paris now face a doubtful future, effectively without parents and the subject of a fight to find them a permanent and stable family home.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s children are shaking down the MLK Memorial Foundation

Martin Luther King Jr. was a great American. Sadly, the same can not be said of his children. They are charging the foundation building a monument to the civil rights leader on the National Mall about $800,000 for the use of his words and image. I wonder what the Reverend King would think of that arrangement? According to this AP story,

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The family of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. has charged the foundation building a monument to the civil rights leader on the National Mall about $800,000 for the use of his words and image - an arrangement one leading scholar says King would have found offensive.

The memorial - including a 28-foot sculpture depicting King emerging from a chunk of granite - is being paid for almost entirely with private money in a fundraising campaign led by the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation. The monument will be turned over to the National Park Service once it is complete.

The foundation has been paying the King family for the use of his words and image in its fundraising materials. The family has not charged for the use of King's likeness in the monument itself.

"I don't think the Jefferson family, the Lincoln family ... I don't think any other group of family ancestors has been paid a licensing fee for a memorial in Washington," said Cambridge University historian David Garrow, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his biography of King. "One would think any family would be so thrilled to have their forefather celebrated and memorialized in D.C. that it would never dawn on them to ask for a penny.
