House Republicans Move to Strip Funding From Four of Obama's Czars

President Obama ignored previous budget language stripping his czars of funding by issuing a signing statement.
(Politico) — House Republicans are striking back after the Obama administration rebuffed an earlier GOP effort to strip funding for so-called White House policy czars.
Republicans have included language in the fiscal 2012 financial services spending bill to slash the salaries for four senior White House advisory positions, a House Democratic aide told POLITICO.
The four jobs targeted by the ban: senior advisers on health reform, energy and climate change, autos and manufacturing, and urban affairs.
The spending bill language is expected to be released Wednesday and marked up Thursday in the Appropriations Committee’s Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee.

Obama pulls a fast one on Boehner

As part of the budget deal, the White House agreed to defund four of Obama's czars. Now the deal is done, President Obama is breaking his part of the deal and keeping the czars by issuing a signing statement. President Obama is a liar and a fraud. Let's hope John Boehner has learned from this experience.
(The Hill) — In selling this week’s spending cut vote to his members, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) touted the fact that he was able to get the White House to agree to a rider defunding four “czars.”

Obama pulled the rug out from under that provision on Friday by issuing a signing statement that said in accordance with the separation of powers he will continue to employ advisers as he sees fit.

Boehner’s office is not surprised Obama found a way to circumvent Congress, according to a staffer.
In a flaming hypocrisy alert, Candidate Barack Obama promised he would not use signing statements and waxed on for minutes about how signing statements are unconstitutional and how he strongly disagreed with Bush using them. Here is the video.

Republicans are trying to defund President Obama's army of Czars. Senate Democrats claim they are ready for a fight. Popcorn anyone?
(Politico)Senate Democrats are willing to fight to keep President Barack Obama’s policy “czars” in the White House.

As they rolled out their stopgap 2011 fiscal spending plan Friday, Senate appropriators drew a line in the sand over a House attempt to oust Obama’s senior advisers on policy issues including energy and health care out.

Senate Appropriations Committee Democrats blasted the language as “an intrusive micromanagement of the president’s White House staff via appropriations.”

Is the Reign of Obama's Czars coming to an End?

Nicholas and Alexandra

An amendment approved by the House GOP will cut their funding. Do you think President Obama is starting to regret ignoring voters and losing the last election?
(The Hill)- The House GOP approved an amendment to a government-spending bill that would block funding for the Obama administration’s so-called policy “czars,” appointed advisers to the president that have been much-criticized by Republicans.

The amendment, offered by Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), specifically targets Obama’s “climate czar” by blocking funding for the assistant to the president for energy and climate change, the position’s official title. The amendment would block funding for the ‘czars’ through the end of the fiscal year, when the spending bill would run out. The underlying bill also includes a provision to block funding for the position.
