Flying United's "Not So Friendly Skies"
United needed to bump 4 people who had already boarded off their overbooked flight so four of their employees could fly. No one accepted their crappy vouchers. So, they selected four random "volunteers." One man wasn't willing to give up his seat. So, United brought security on board and beat the shit out of him. This is what flying has come to in America. You get fondled by TSA and flight crews have more power over you than prison guards would if you were an incarcerated felon. I have given up flying for pleasure trips. I drive or stay home. If I have a flight I have to take, United will be my last choice. It's time for the sheeple to stand up.

DARPA wants industry to build a flying drone "mothership"
Sci-Fi is becoming reality...
Washington (AFP) - It's a Hollywood sci-fi fantasy that has long eluded the Pentagon: a flying "mothership" that launches smaller aircraft. The Pentagon's research agency put out a request to industry this month to outline how a large cargo plane could release drones to spy on or attack an enemy and then return to the flying aircraft carrier. The concept conjures up fantastical images from "The Avengers" film and the "StarCraft" video game, with large, lumbering motherships sending out smaller craft -- but there are no cloaking devices involved in this particular project. At the moment, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is not close to constructing any test planes and is merely exploring the possibility on paper, officials and experts said."This is the float-the-idea stage of the concept. It's not the build-me-a-prototype stage. We're not to that yet," said author Peter Singer, who has written extensively about robots and warfare. In a conceptual drawing from DARPA, a cargo plane resembling a C-130 releases a squadron of drones that look similar to Predator or Reaper aircraft.

Why does your Congress critter fly first-class on your dime?
Because they are the ruling class...
Via Town Hall
Via Town Hall
When was the last time you flew first-class on an airplane? For most people, the answer is never or once or twice thanks to an upgrade. I fall into the latter category. Not to mention, those who can afford to pay for first-class tickets, aren’t doing it on the backs of taxpayers…unless of course you serve in the U.S. Congress.Don't look for this to change. Congress will deep-six any rules requiring them to fly coach.
Last year, Bloomberg Businessweek ran a feature titled, The Pampered World of Congressional Air Travel. The story detailed the cushy and expensive travel bookings Congressman and Senators make on a regular basis with frequent trips back and forth to their home states and districts. The cost to taxpayers is enormous, but could be much less if they’d simply swallow their pride and sit in coach with the rest of us.
There is no more pampered class of air traveler than members of Congress.
At Washington’s Reagan National Airport, they have their own special parking spaces—right up close to the terminal—that they don’t even have to pay for. As Bloomberg Television’s Hans Nichols reports, this perk costs the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority $738,760 in foregone revenue.
To members of our fly-in-Tuesday-fly-home-Thursday Congress, these perks are a big deal. Most fly a lot, and many fly first class. They don’t just jet home to their districts. Sometimes, they’re jetting around the world at taxpayer expense ($23,646, to be specific), as Democratic Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee of Texas did in February.
Now, Republican Reps. Paul Gosar and Walter Jones along with California Democrat Rep. Raul Ruiz are looking to end the first-class treatment out of respect for taxpayers. Earlier this week Gosar wrote and submitted a request with Ruiz and Jones to the Committee on Appropriations asking that language prohibiting lawmakers from traveling first-class on the taxpayer dime be added to the Fiscal Year 2015 Legislative Branch Appropriations Act.... Sad: Nancy Pelosi is still taking luxury Air Force rides on taxpayers dime...
What makes this really outrageous is Nancy Pelosi is loaded with a reported minimum net worth of $26 million.

If the US Airforce did all airline food, it would be strawberries dipped in dark chocolate and grilled chicken salads all round.
Unfortunately this luxury is reserved for top US politicians alone, as new documents detailing Nancy Pelosi’s travel expenses reveal.
The former House Speaker was showered with a cornucopia of gourmet food and alcohol as she travelled over 90,000 miles around the world in just nine months last year – all courtesy of the US Airforce (USAF).
On one overseas excursion, her office even wrote to the USAF asking for strawberries dipped in dark chocolate as a birthday treat.
The documents, uncovered by political corruption watchdog Judicial Watch, reveal that the US taxpayer was billed for $101,429 in Mrs Pelosi’s in-flight services over a period of two years.

What sequester? Biden flying 100 miles to his house every weekend...
Still no tours for children wanting to visit White House...
Via White House Dossier:
Biden appears to have lied about the sequester forcing him back on Amtrak.
Via White House Dossier:
Vice President Biden has been flying home to Wilmington, Delaware most weekends at enormous expense to taxpayers, even though he has an exclusive government-provided residence in Washington.
Biden himself acknowledged the flights during recent remarks to the National Association of Attorneys General, noting that the sequester would force him to temporarily alter his expensive habit and use the train instead.
According to reports, Biden generally uses Air Force Two to get to Wilmington.
The cost of flying Air Force Two, a military version of the Boeing 757-200, amounts to about $8,800 per hour, according to the most recent federal data.
Biden appears to have lied about the sequester forcing him back on Amtrak.
