Harry Reid: "We are going to have a public option before this bill goes to the president's desk"

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has promised his constituents there will be a public option in the health care reform bill that goes to President Obama's desk.
U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said today there will be a "public option" in whatever health insurance reform bill comes out of Congress.

"We are going to have a public option before this bill goes to the president's desk," Reid said in a conference call with constituents, referring to some kind of government plan.

This is in spite of opposition to President Obama and the Democrats plan by 56% of voters.
Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.

With such strong opposition by the public, Senator Reid will need a "dirty trick" to get this bill through Congress. He has a plan.
President Obama and liberals in Congress seem intent on passing comprehensive health care reform, even though polls suggest it is unpopular with the American people. And despite the potential political risks to moderate Democrats, the President and left-wing leadership in Congress are determined to pass the measure using a rare parliamentary procedure.

The Senate plans to attach Obamacare to a House-passed non-healthcare bill. Ironically, nobody knows what that legislation looks like, because it has not yet been written. Yet many members plan to rubber-stamp Obamacare without reading or understanding the bill.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell: Half of Obamacare is a new tax bill

MSNBC's house liberal, Lawrence O'Donnell, admits Obamacare legislation is half new taxes nobody is talking about. Well Mr. O'Donnell, conservatives are talking about the new taxes in Obamacare.

From the video:
O’DONNELL: I was down there yesterday in the Senate Finance committee markup. And nobody's covering what happened in the Senate Finance committee markup yesterday. No one covered anything that happened in the Ways and Means committee markup which lasted quite a while and created three new top tax brackets which America doesn't even know about. And the reason those things aren’t being covered is screaming about ‘death panels,’ yelling ‘you lie,’ and this stuff. This stuff is wonderfully diversionary and so the whole country has no idea. For example, what the – what half this legislation is. And half this legislation is a very big tax bill, a very big tax bill. New forms of taxation that are being invented have never been used before, nobody's talking about it because of this. It's very helpful to the Democrats and it’s very helpful to legislating, the more shows like this spend time on nonsense like that...

Nancy Pelosi: No need for Grayson to apologize for "Die quickly" remark

The left loves to talk about the incivility of conservatives in the debate about health care reform. Democrats reprimanded Rep. Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar during his health care reform speech to Congress. When one of their own crosses the line, it is no big deal.

The Hill
reported;
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says there’s no reason for Rep. Alan Grayson to apologize for his “Die quickly” remark, since Republicans have made statements just as outrageous as his.

“If anybody’s going apologize, everybody should apologize,” Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference. “We are holding Democrats to a higher standard than their own members.”

Democrat’s Secret Plan to Pass Obamacare

According to this article from Human Events, the Democrats and Harry Reid have a plan to pass Obamacare without using reconciliation. Of course, it is a sneaky, dirty rotten trick.

From Human Events:
President Obama and liberals in Congress seem intent on passing comprehensive health care reform, even though polls suggest it is unpopular with the American people. And despite the potential political risks to moderate Democrats, the President and left-wing leadership in Congress are determined to pass the measure using a rare parliamentary procedure.

Democrats say 'illegals' are not eligible for Obamacare, but no requirement for photo ID will be permitted

Democrats say illegals are not eligible for Obamacare, but no requirement for photo ID will be permitted. You can not get on an airplane, open a bank account, cash a check or buy cigarettes (if you are young) without a photo ID, but you will be able to sign up for Obamacare benefits without one. Democrats defeated a proposed requirement by Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)that immigrants prove their identity with photo identification when signing up for Obamacare.

The Hill reported:
Senate Finance Committee Democrats rejected a proposed a requirement that immigrants prove their identity with photo identification when signing up for federal healthcare programs.

Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said that current law and the healthcare bill under consideration are too lax and leave the door open to illegal immigrants defrauding the government using false or stolen identities to obtain benefits.

Grassley's amendment was beaten back 10-13 on a party-line vote.
