Fail: Gabby Giffords' husband caught buying AR-15

As you may know, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark E. Kelly have become prominent gun-control proponents. Was Mark Kelly trying to get in before the ban he is advocating?

Mark E. Kelly, gun-control proponent and husband to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, recently purchased an AR-15 (an “assault weapon,” he called it)—which he now says he intended as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws.
Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, Arizona.

Various sources contacted Breitbart News once Kelly made the purchase, and after we began investigating the details surrounding the purchase, Kelly announced on his Facebookthat he was not going to keep the AR-15, which he has yet to pick up from the store.

This is a good time to pause and reflect on President Obama's speech in Tuscon after Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot.

The loss of these wonderful people should make every one of us strive to be better in our private lives -- to be better friends and neighbors, co-workers and parents. And if, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse, let's remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy, but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation, in a way that would make them proud. It should be because we want to live up to the example of public servants like John Roll and Gabby Giffords, who knew first and foremost that we are all Americans, and that we can question each other's ideas without questioning each other's love of country, and that our task, working together, is to constantly widen the circle of our concern so that we bequeath the American dream to future generations.

Does President Obama think VP Joe Biden and other democrats, who have called Republicans terrorists and accused them of wanting to blow up the economy, have risen to his challenge to make the Tuscon shooting victims proud?

Left-Wing Democrats Use Giffords Shooting to Raise Funds

Here is a screen capture of a letter sent out by 21st Century Democrats on the night of the shooting. If someone clicks the "Click here to share your thoughts" link, They are taken to a page with a duplicate of the letter, comment box and donation button.

21st Century Democrats claim to be "Building A progressive Majority" and, claim in the letter, to have helped reelect Giffords in 2010. Their 2010 candidates page features Barbara Boxer, Russ Feingold, Keith Ellison and Alan Grayson among others. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords isn't listed as a supported candidate. This is hardly surprising considering she is a 'blue dog' Democrat who supports the 2nd Amendment, strong border enforcement and was one of 19 House Democrats to vote against Nancy Pelosi as Minority Leader for 2011. Giffords would hardly fit in with progressive 21st Century Democrats. This didn't stop them from shamelessly blaming Sarah Palin, claiming to be Giffords supporters and using this tragedy for fund-raising.

Suspect Held in Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Shooting is a Young Male Named Jared Loughner (MySpace Screen Capture)(Updated)

The suspect in the Rep. Gabrielle Giffords shootings name has been released. It is Jared Loughner.

What appears to be his MySpace page has already been yanked. Here is a screen capture of his photo album. It has a gun laid on the White House.

There is also a YouTube channel for a Jared Loughner. His last video is really bizarre, but I am unclear if this is the same Jared Loughner who is a suspect in the shooting.




Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is alive and in critical condition. Five people have been confirmed killed. Reportedly, Federal Judge John Roll is one of the dead.

Update2: If this is the correct YouTube account, Jared looks like a lefty. His favorite video at his YouTube account is the US flag is torched.

Update3: ABC is reporting there was a farewell message on his MySpace.

On a Myspace page apparently maintained by Loughner, he said goodbye to friends and said, "Please don't be mad at me... I cannot rest."

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) Shot in Head and Killed at Campaign Event (Update: She lived)

The Congresswoman was in favor of border enforcement and second amendment rights. She was also pro-life. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was very much outside the Democrat mainstream. Previously, Giffords was a Republican. Several other people were also shot. The gunman is reportedly in custody.



Update: Some news sources are reporting she is alive and in surgery.
Update: She is alive, but in critical condition.
