I brief him every Monday in the White House, and he never listens! No. The truth is exactly what he said
and what the campaign said in 2008. David Axelrod said we were
friendly, that was true; we served on a couple of boards together, that
was true; he held a fundraiser in our living room, that was true;
Michelle [Obama] and Bernardine were at the law firm together, that was
true. Hyde Park in Chicago is a tiny neighborhood, so when he said I was
“a guy around the neighborhood,” that was true. Today, I wish I knew
him better and he was listening to me. Obama’s not a radical. I wish he
were, but he’s not.
Here is the 2008 interview where Robert Gibb lies to MSNBC host Chris Matthews and the American people.
Moments before Tuesday’s State of the Union address, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow made a huge announcement.
As she introduced former Barack Obama senior campaign adviser/press
secretary Robert Gibbs, she said, “I am for the first time tonight able
to introduce you as an MSNBC contributor.
Senior adviser to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign Roberts Gibbs said the Obama campaign is not going to allow GOP nominee Mitt Romney to keep playing his “tried-and-true role” of “prep school bully.”
During “This Week” on ABC News Sunday, Gibbs was asked about the recent ads run by both the Obama and Romney campaigns.
Obama: George, but this is an example of what I’m talking about. This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.
Gibbs is a master of speaking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.
(RCP) — Robert Gibbs says this election is not about “affixing blame” to the economic crisis after he noted people still blame Bush more than Obama for the troubled economy.
Gibbs also responds to Obama’s “bump in the road” comment that Romney pounced on in a web ad.
“This is not going to be and I’m not setting this up to be an election to blame George Bush, but what I’m suggesting is a series of decisions that got us into the mess is not a series of decisions we ought to make to get us out of it,” Gibbs told CNN’s David Gergen.
(Politico)- White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday that it was unfortunate that some terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay need to be held indefinitely without trial.
“Some would be tried in federal courts, as we’ve seen done in the past. Some would be tried in military commissions, likely spending the rest of their lives in a maximum security prison that nobody, including terrorists, have ever escaped from. Some, regrettably, will have to be indefinitely detained,” Gibbs said on CNN’s “State of the Union” as he described Obama’s beleaguered plan for closing Guantanamo.
I am not sure what the rationale is for Gibbs' claim DADT repeal will strengthen national security. Our military isn't having any trouble recruiting now. The challenge they face is retaining combat trained and experienced troops. 60% of combat troops oppose repeal of DADT. I can't see how this will help with retention in those units.
In particular, Gibbs is downplaying the effect President Obama's campaigning for Democrats will have. Actually, he pretty much admits Obama will be ineffective at swinging votes to the Democrats he has went on the campaign trail for.
But Gibbs also sought to tamp down expectations, partly stoked by Obama and his top advisers in the run-up to the midterms, that a series of presidential visits might tilt tight races to Democrats.
“I think that the way we’ve seen the president deployed in different races is much as we expected the president would be used,” Gibbs told reporters. “I think if you looked at last week’s [polling], when you asked people the role that the president played in their voting, it wasn’t — it wasn’t a huge role on either side.”
Robert Gibbs thinks Glenn Beck is ill-informed about President Obama's Christianity. Beck recently claimed the reason people doubt Obama's Christianity is he follows “liberation theology.”
President Obama is a “mainstream Christian,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday, questioning why Glenn Beck has said the president follows “liberation theology.”
“People are entitled to their own opinion, as ill-informed as it may be,” Gibbs told reporters. “But they’re not entitled to their own facts.”
President Obama spent 20 years in the church of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Obama once said,
"I don't think my church is particularly controversial."
That's the problem with attack dogs. They sometimes bit the hand that feeds them. In this video Grayson attacks Gibbs and says he should be fired. Then, he accuses Gibbs of using FOX News talking points. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!

Of course, Gibbs didn't criticize the left for attacking Republicans. He is concerned they are attacking President Obama. The Hill reported:
The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”
A couple of months age, Nancy Pelosi was predicting Democrats would "easily" maintain control of the House and challenging Republicans to "bring it on." Top analysts have been prognosticating for some time the possibility of a GOP takeover. Now, the White House is preparing their followers for the inevitability the GOP may take back control of the House in November. If the White House thought there was any serious hope of Democrats maintaining control of the House after 2010, Robert Gibbs would be in complete denial and spinning like crazy.
Investigators claim President Obama's social security number indicates it was issued in Connecticut. There is no record Obama ever lived or worked in that state. Robert Gibbs was asked about this discrepancy today. He changed the subject to birth certificate.
Additionally, Obama's social security number was issued several years after he reportedly started work in Hawaii as a teenager.
The Minister of Disinformation, Robert Gibbs, called reporters to a private meeting and scolded them for asking too many questions about the BP oil spill. The administration is trying to duck any responsibility for the spill. They are terrified this will become Obama's Katrina. The mainstream media normally plats along with the administrations deceptions. It is unclear if they can continue to do that with something of this magnitude.
"I don't think many people have to watch Fox to understand the political slant that they have...They're feeding an audience that they know wants to see and hear a certain side of the argument."
Gibbs made these remarks today while on CNN. Early last week, CNN's U.S. President Jon Klein claimed he runs the only credible, nonpartisan news network. Conservative bloggers took issue with this ridiculous statement. In January, a PPP survey found FOX News was the most trusted name in news.
