In a stunningly evil and disgusting article, a feminist only willing to identify herself as “Lana” has described her decision to abort her child, based solely on the fact that he was a boy.
Lana begins her article by explaining that “the patriarchy has been well entrenched since the dawn of time,” and continues by writing about an argument she had with a man on an airplane, while she was pregnant, to summarize what she deemed “extreme patriarchy.”
The description of the argument is straight forward: Lana was flying to San Francisco to participate in an Occupy Wall Street rally. When the person sitting next to her found out about it, he swore at her, to which Lana responded by screaming at the top of her lungs “ASSAULT.”
After “contemplating” lying to the flight attendants and telling them that the man struck her, Lana decided to tell the truth. The flight attendants told her that they couldn’t force the man to move in response. And in response to that, Lana decided that she “could no longer depend on men to be an ally of the cause.”
The “cause,” in her mind, is feminism. Soon after, she went to the doctor and was told that she was pregnant with a boy. Her immediate response, she writes, was “my body had betrayed me even worse than the misogynistic suit jockey on the airplane so many months before. I was in shock, I started crying, weeping at the thought of what I was about to curse the world with.”
Over the course of several days, she decided that she could not bring another male into this world. She explains, “I couldn’t bring another monster into the world. We already have enough enemies as it is.”

The United States Supreme Court has shut down an attempt by Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell to appeal his conviction and get out of the plea deal that allowed him to avoid the death penalty.
Gosnell, 73, was found guilty and convicted of three counts of first degree murder for babies who were born alive during late-term abortion procedures and were then killed by Gosnell, who used scissors to pierce the infants’ necks and sever their spinal cords, as Breitbart News reported. He was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter for a patient who died after a botched abortion he performed, as well as more than 200 counts of violating Pennsylvania’s informed consent law, which requires women to be informed of the risks of abortion procedures and to be offered alternatives and to be given 24 hours to consider their choice.

Religious intolerance alert: Gov. Jerry Brown forces California Catholic Universities to pay for abortions

Gov. Jerry Brown's administration has reversed an earlier decision to allow two Catholic universities to eliminate coverage of most abortions for employees, saying state law requires health insurance plans to cover all abortions.
The state had previously allowed insurance companies to offer plans to Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount universities that denied coverage for "elective" abortions, and allowed it only for abortions needed to save a woman's life or prevent serious health damage. Loyola Marymount, in Los Angeles, implemented its policy in January, while Santa Clara's was due to take effect next year.
Urged by abortion-rights groups and university employees to reconsider the issue, Brown's Department of Managed Health Care, in letters to be sent Friday to insurers for both universities, said the exclusions violate a 1975 state law that requires group health plans to cover all basic services - defined, by the law, as those that are "medically necessary."

The left lies and claims this is about denying women birth control. It never was. Hobby Lobby covers 16 of 20 forms of birth control included in the Obamacare mandate. They just don't want to cover the ones that terminate life after conception. It's about abortion, not contraception.

The Green family has no moral objection to the use of 16 of 20 preventive contraceptives required in the mandate, and Hobby Lobby will continue its longstanding practice of covering these preventive contraceptives for its employees. However, the Green family cannot provide or pay for four potentially life-threatening drugs and devices. These drugs include Plan B and Ella, the so-called morning-after pill and the week-after pill. Covering these drugs and devices would violate their deeply held religious belief that life begins at the moment of conception, when an egg is fertilized.

Rep. Janice Hahn (D-Calif.) walked out of the National Day of Prayer event at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, saying she was “outraged” after James Dobson, founder of the conservative Christian advocacy group Focus on the Family, called President Barack Obama the “abortion president.”

“President Obama, before he was elected, made it very clear that he wanted to be the abortion president. He didn’t make any bones about it,” Dobson, whose organization recently won a temporary injunction against the Affordable Care Act’s employer contraception mandate, said on Thursday. “This is something that he really was going to promote and support, and he has done that, and in a sense he is the abortion president.”

In an interview with The Huffington Post on Thursday, Hahn called the speech deeply “inappropriate” and a violation of the event’s symbol as a nonpartisan day of unity.

“He goes on about health care and … providing abortions, and at that point I stood up and I pointed my finger at Dr. Dobson and I said, ‘This is inappropriate!’ and walked out,” Hahn told HuffPost.

Google Inc. is eliminating advertisements for Crisis Pregnancy Centers because the ads reportedly come up 79 percent of the time when Web searches are made for "abortion clinics," The Hill reported. 
Crisis Pregnancy Centers are operated by groups that oppose abortion. Google had been lobbied by NARAL Pro-Choice America to remove the advertisements.
"Anyone looking for abortion services should be able to depend on their search engine to provide them with accurate resources," Ilyse Hogue, the group's president, said in a statement. "Anything less is aiding and abetting ideologically driven groups with a calculated campaign to lie to and shame women making one of the most important decisions of our lives."
Pro-life supporters say that the centers provide necessary options besides abortion, The Hill reported. 
Carol Tobias of the National Right to Life Committee termed Google's decision "unconscionable" and said many pregnant women would be hurt by the move. "Google is waging a war on women by limiting knowledge of the options and services available to women," she told The Hill.

Insurance companies working under the Obamacare umbrella have secretly added a surcharge to cover the cost of abortions, an apparent violation of federal law that forbids the practice, congressional leaders charge.
Consumers signing up for insurance in an Obamacare exchange won’t find a single sentence telling them that they will pay at least $1 a month to fund abortions.
“The president promised when the health care bill passed that it would not cover abortion. We knew that was an empty promise as the bill stipulated a $1 a month surcharge for plans that covered abortions,” said Rep. Joe Pitts, R-Pa., who chairs the House’s Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Health. “On top of that … it’s near impossible to decipher which plans include abortion and at what cost!”
To fix this, a House bill will be introduced this week to demand full disclosure and a separate itemized premium. It also will prohibit federal subsidies for Obamacare insurance plans that cover abortion. That bill, HR-7, or the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” will be introduced by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

 Republicans House bill to fix this travesty will die in the Senate without Harry Reid calling a vote.

Planned Parenthood provides abortion without the patient ever going to the abortion doctor...

 Planned Parenthood claims only 3% of its services are related to abortion and no federal dollars are used. If they use their offices and physicians for abortions and pay for those salaries and facilities with any of the one third funding they receive from taxpayers, they are being disingenuous.

Planned Parenthood leaders said Monday that they had filed two petitions in Polk County District Court. The agency wants a judge to put a stay on the ruling while considering whether to overturn it. The ruling is slated to take effect Nov. 6.[...]
Dr. Jill Meadows, Planned Parenthood’s medical director, said in a prepared statement that the arrangement is safe.
“Over the past 5 years, our physicians have provided medication abortion through telemedicine to more than 3,000 women in Iowa,” she wrote. “During that time we have received no patient complaints. Medication abortion is a very safe way to end a pregnancy before nine weeks. While the number of abortions in Iowa has not increased since we implemented our telemedicine program, the number of women accessing abortion before 14 weeks in pregnancy has. As a physician, I know that an abortion early in pregnancy is safer than an abortion later in pregnancy.”

Members of Congress and their staffs will be able to buy health plans that pay for abortions, even though the premiums are paid for largely by taxpayer money, the Office of Personnel Management ruled Monday.
Lawmakers and their aides are being required to ditch their government-sponsored plans and buy insurance on state-based health exchanges, though unlike most people on the exchanges, the staffers and members will still have most of the cost of their premiums paid for by their employer — in this case, taxpayers.
Federal law generally prevents taxpayer money being used to pay for abortions, but OPM said that the health care plans offered through the exchange were private.... Keep on reading...

AUSTIN, TEXAS (DPS) — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today received information that individuals planned to use a variety of items or props to disrupt legislative proceedings at the Texas Capitol.
Therefore for safety purposes, DPS recommended to the State Preservation Board that all bags be inspected prior to allowing individuals to enter the Senate gallery, which the State Preservation Board authorized.
During these inspections, DPS officers have thus far discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items – as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals – were required to be discarded; otherwise those individuals were denied entry into the gallery.
In the interest of the safety and security of Texas legislators and the general public, these inspections will continue until the conclusion of Senate business.

On Wednesday, Perry ordered lawmakers to meet again on 1 July to act on the abortion proposals, as well as separate bills that would boost highway funding and deal with a juvenile justice issue. The sweeping abortion rules would close nearly all abortion clinics and impose other widespread restrictions on the procedure across the nation's second-largest state.
The measure passed the House, but died after a Democratic Senator, Wendy Davis, led a filibuster effort that lasted 12 hours. Hundreds of protesters cheered and clapped in the public gallery, disrupting Senate proceedings as the session closed at midnight. That sparked boisterous chanting from the public gallery, which lasted until after midnight and threw proceedings into turmoil.
