Obvious: 18 of 20 young illegal immigrants fail to show for initial deportation hearings.

If you expected anything better, you are an clueless.

Via Dallas News:
Marcos and Crisly, Ana and Blanca, Fabiola and Maria Antonia.
The youths were among 20 from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala who were set to appear in federal immigration court Tuesday for initial deportation hearings. But they weren’t there — 18 of the children whose cases were set to be heard didn’t show up Tuesday for court.
It was an absentee rate that federal Immigration Judge Michael Baird said was “highly unusual,” so high that he reset the hearings for Aug. 11 rather than possibly issuing a deportation order.
Baird said he was concerned that the children may not have received proper notice of the hearings from the government. Attorney Lynn Javier, with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, agreed that it was “prudent” to reset the hearings.

Video: Al Franken Naps During Kagan Hearing

I guess the joke from Minnesota has already made up his mind how he will vote on President Obama's SCOTUS nominee Elena Kagan. Minnesota Senator Al Franken was seen napping and doodling during a confirmation hearing. Of course, Kagen is being vague and disingenuous. She will not out herself as a far-left progressive activist jurist. Franken taking a nap may be the most noteworthy event that occurs during the hearings.

Waxman Backpedals on Calling CEO's on the Carpet for Divulging Obamacare Costs

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif) got his 'panties in a wad' because several large companies re-stated their bottom lines and announced Obamacare would cost them hundreds of millions of dollars this year. Waxman announced he was calling these companies CEO's on the carpet to explain why they did this. He is now backpedaling and canceling his planned subcommittee hearing.
A House Energy and Commerce Committee spokeswoman tells me that Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., has indeed cancelled the April 21 subcommittee hearing in which CEOs were to testify about Obamacare.

Hmmm... Perhaps he realized these companies have a fiduciary responsibility to keep their shareholders informed.
The CEOs, required by law to be honest about earnings projections, re-stated their bottom lines in reaction to Obamacare's passage, earning the ire of Waxman and other Democrats.

Hearings on this matter would likely have proved an embarrassment to the Democrats and helped drag out discussion of Obamacare's unexpected ill effects.
