Obama Loses More Jobs In One Year Than Any President In Modern History

President Obama has presided over the worst loss of jobs of any President since World War II. What happened to the 8% peak were were promised if the stimulus passed?

USA Today
reported:
Even before Barack Obama took the oath of office, his economic advisers projected that without hundreds of billions of dollars in government spending, the U.S. economy could lose another 3 million to 4 million jobs on top of the 3.1 million lost in 2008.

It turns out they were optimistic. Even with the $787 billion stimulus package that Obama signed in February, more than 4 million jobs have been lost in 2009, the worst year for job losses since World War II. The jobless rate that advisers projected would peak at 8% has topped 10%.

TSA Nominee Southers lied to a Senate panel in a signed affidavit

We should thank Senator DeMint for putting a hold on this man. It turns out he used his official position for personal reasons. That is unacceptable. He is a liar too.

The Washington Post reported:
Southers’s admission that he was involved in a questionable use of law enforcement background data has been a source of concern among civil libertarians, who believe the TSA performs a delicate balancing act in tapping into passenger information to find terrorists while also protecting citizens’ privacy.

A Contrast of Two Winter White Houses

Here is a video of President Obama's Winter White House. This 7000 square feet of paradise is valued at $8.9 million. It rents for $4,000 a night.

Here is a picture of former President Bush's Western White House in Texas. This modest 4000 square foot property even has geothermal heating to save energy.

Which President is more likely to identify with ordinary Americans?

Terrified Ben Nelson Tells State AG's "Cornhusker Kickback" Will Be Extended to Everyone

Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson actually used the term “call off the dogs.” I guess Nelson has seen this poll.

Politico reported:
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) reached out Thursday evening to South Carolina GOP Attorney General Henry McMaster, the leader of a group of 13 Republican state attorneys general who are threatening to file suit against the Senate health care bill, and urged him to forgo any legal action, POLITICO has learned.

According to a copy of a memo sent by McMaster’s chief of staff to other GOP state attorneys general detailing the call, Nelson asked McMaster to “call off the dogs,” a reference to recent threats by the state AGs to file a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a Medicaid provision in the bill that benefits Nebraska at the expense of other states. . . .

Extending the "Cornhusker Kickback" to every state would be prohibitively expensive and likely eliminate the 'thin veil' of deficit reduction. Harry Reid has been silent on Nelsons memo.

Another Mayo Clinic Quits Taking Medicare

Isn't one of the ways to expand coverage in the democrat's health reform bills to expand Medicare and Medicaid? If you are on Medicare, don't plan on getting the best medical care in the country.

Bloomberg

Good News. We Own Failing GMAC

Our benevolent government has given another $3.8 billion to failing GMAC Financial Services. Taxpayers now own 56% of GMAC. This brings the total government bailout of GMAC to over $15 billion. GMAC is the financing arm of GM.
