Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee throwing Sen. Mary Landrieu under the bus?

The DSCC is cancelling ad buys for her in Louisiana. Sen. Mary Landrieu isn't a critical win for them anymore.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is canceling at least some of its advertising reservations for Sen. Mary Landrieu ahead of the December runoff in Louisiana.

The committee canceled buys planned from Monday through December 6 in the Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans markets, three sources tracking the air war told POLITICO.

With control of the Senate no longer on the line, the race becomes less important for both party committees – which each took out loans in the final weeks before Tuesday’s election.

FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) — The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has stopped running TV ads in Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race, a troublesome sign for Alison Lundergan Grimes in her challenge of Republican leader Mitch McConnell.
In a statement, the committee says it has spent more than $2 million in Kentucky and is still funding get-out-the-vote operations. The committee says it will continue to monitor the race, but it has made no commitment to go back on the air in support of Grimes, who has been pummeled by tens of millions of dollars in attack ads by McConnell and his allies.
The Democratic committee continues to spend heavily in other competitive races in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia and elsewhere as it tries to prevent Republicans from winning a Senate majority.

Senate Democrats Double-Down On Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is using the Obamacare contraceptive mandate as a fund-raising tool.

(CNSNews.com) – The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) – the campaign arm of the Senate Democratic Caucus – is using the controversy over the Obama administration’s contraceptive mandate to raise campaign funds.

The email, sent to potential Democratic donors, touts the Obama administration’s decision to require insurance providers to provide contraceptive and sterilization services free of charge.
The email, signed by DSCC Chair Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), calls opposition to the Obamacare mandate an “attack” on women’s health.

“Our right-wing opponents continue to launch attack after attack against women’s rights, women’s health, and women’s economic security — and we’ve got to fight back every single day,” the email says.

“The next battle over the Obama administration’s decision to make contraception more affordable under the new health care law is already underway.”

The DSCC says it has created a new grassroots effort, called the Standing Strong for Women Project – “to combat the Republican war on women.”

DSCC Throws in the Towel on Robin Carnahan in Missouri

The DSCC knows a loser when they see one. They have canceled ad buys for Democrat Robin Carnahan in Missouri.

The DSCC is moving TV ad money out of Missouri, a sign that the Senate race may be moving beyond Democrats’ grasp.

Four Republican sources who monitor media buying and three Missouri TV stations have confirmed to Hotline On Call that the DSCC has canceled reservations from Oct. 11 to Oct. 25. The DSCC still has reservations in Missouri for the last week before Election Day.

“Yes, the weeks of Oct. 12 and Oct. 19 have been canceled for the DSCC in our station,” Sean Kellerman of WDAF, the Kansas City, MO, FOX affiliate, said.

An audit by the Florida Republican Party has found Governor Charlie Crist (RINO) (I) misused party funds for personal reasons. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has seized on this and launched an attack on Crist. This may be the final nail in Crist's coffin.

Charlie Crist is facing increasing heat over a new audit of the Republican Party of Florida, which showed that Crist's handpicked party chair Jim Greer spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of party fund's inappropriately. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Crist and Greer spent Republican party dollars jet setting to such far off destinations as New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Crist even spent party money to fly to his wife's island home. (emphasis mine)

The current chair of the Republican Party of Florida, John Thrasher, has said that Crist "had to know this [inappropriate lavish spending] was going on," and that the party will release the audit today. The Republican Party of Florida may go to court to get the money that was spent inappropriately back.

DNC Uses Oil Spill to Raise Funds

Eleven Americans died in the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling rig. Team Obama responded very slowly and allowed the oil to spread over a large area of the gulf. Somehow, Democrats think this is good for fund-raising. They brag about "Keeping a boot on the throat" of BP. Here is the DNC letter.
