Good News: Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has officially joined the Democratic Party

Goodby and good riddance. Democrats can have the weasel.

Via The Hill:
Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has officially joined the Democratic Party, fueling speculation that he may run against Republican Gov. Rick Scott in 2014 after getting trounced in his 2010 Senate run.
Crist announced his decision on Twitter Friday evening, saying he was “Proud and honored to join the Democratic Party in the home of President Barack Obama!” The tweet is accompanied by a photo of Crist holding a Florida voter registration application at a White House reception alongside his wife, Carole.
Crist, a one-term Florida governor, registered as an independent in 2010 when polls showed him trailing Marco Rubio in the Republican Senate primary for an open seat. Rubio won with about 50 percent of the vote, against 29 percent for Crist and less than 20 percent for Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek in a landslide year for Republicans.

Too Good To Check: Charlie Crist Allegedly Paid Men To Cover Up Gay Affairs

From a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Investigative Report:
Chase had contacted Morgan, as Chase believed Morgan was the attorney representing Crist, to set up a time wherein Chase could depose Crist. In essence, indicated to Morgan that if he (Chase) had to take Crist's deposition, Crist was not going to like what Chase asked as it would contain embarrassing things and would be used to impeach his testimony. When Morgan inquired what embarrassing things Chase was referring to, Chase indicated that he would be forced to impeach Crist by addressing the following issues: 1. Charlie Crist was a homosexual and had homosexual relationships with at least two men who were paid to leave the state to avoid embarrassing then Governor Crist. 2. Governor Crist kissed or attempted to kiss Greer at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California, 3. Governor Crist's drunken escapades, and how Governor Crist's security detail had to cover for him 4. Governor Crist attempting to run people over while intoxicated and operating a golf cart.
Charlie Crist is denying the allegations are true. Crist will always be a scumbag to Republicans for abandoning the party after losing the primary and running a failed independent campaign for a Senate seat.

Interesting: DSCC Rips Charlie Crist for Misusing Republican Party Funds

An audit by the Florida Republican Party has found Governor Charlie Crist (RINO) (I) misused party funds for personal reasons. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has seized on this and launched an attack on Crist. This may be the final nail in Crist's coffin.

From the DSCC:
Charlie Crist is facing increasing heat over a new audit of the Republican Party of Florida, which showed that Crist's handpicked party chair Jim Greer spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of party fund's inappropriately. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Crist and Greer spent Republican party dollars jet setting to such far off destinations as New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Crist even spent party money to fly to his wife's island home. (emphasis mine)

The current chair of the Republican Party of Florida, John Thrasher, has said that Crist "had to know this [inappropriate lavish spending] was going on," and that the party will release the audit today. The Republican Party of Florida may go to court to get the money that was spent inappropriately back.

Video: Rubio and Meek use Crist as a "punching bag" in yesterday's Florida Senatorial debate (video)

Charlie Crist was against Obamacare, before he was for it, before he was against it or something

The spelling of flip-flop has been changed to Charlie-Crist.

The Hill reported:
Crist told a local TV station Friday that he would have voted in favor of President Obama's healthcare proposal were he in the Senate. That was a reversal of his previous position against the healthcare law.

"I would have voted for it," Crist said
in the interview. "But I think it can be done better, I really do."

But now, Crist says he "misspoke" in that interview.
His campaign sent out a statement Friday afternoon clarifying Crist's position on the healthcare law.

Someone must have informed Crist 56% of Florida voters oppose the heath care overhaul bill.

Video: Marco Rubio Victory Speech

Marco Rubio handily won the GOP nomination for Florida's U.S. Senate seat yesterday after former RINO, Governor Charlie Crist, dropped out and announced he was running as an Independent. Kendrick B. Meek crushed his primary opponent, Jeff Greene, in the Democratic primary. This sets the stage for a three way race between Rubio, Meek and Crist. Here is part of Rubio's victory speech. He clearly paints himself as the outsider in the race who will bring real change to Washington.

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist Has Obama's Back on Ground Zero Mosque

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is looking more like an Obama clone every day. He is fully supporting President Obama's endorsement of building a Mosque next to Ground Zero's sacred soil.

CNN reported:
In a boost for President Obama on a red-hot controversy, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist told CNN Saturday that he fully supports Obama’s decision to back construction of an Islamic center and mosque near New York’s ground zero.

“I think he’s right – yeah,” Crist, who was elected governor as a Republican but is now running for Senate as an independent candidate, told CNN.

New Poll: Rubio Ahead by 6 if Meek is Democratic Candidate

It looks like Jeff Greene's campaign is collapsing in the Florida Democratic Primary. This is very good news for Marco Rubio and Republicans. Meek takes a larger share of Crist's potential vote.

Hotline reported:
Meek's rise is carrying over into the general election, and his increase in support is coming at Crist's expense. The new Mason-Dixon poll gives ex-state House Speaker Marco Rubio (R) a 38%-33% lead over Crist, with Meek at 18%.

If Greene is the nominee, Crist would maintain a narrow advantage over Rubio, 39%-38%, with Greene at 12%.

The difference in matchups for Crist is the support of Dems. If Greene is the nominee, Crist gets 61% of the Dem vote. With Meek in the general, 45% of Dems backed Crist, while Meek draws 36%.

Chris Matthews: Charlie Crist Will Be "New Star of the Democratic Caucus in the Senate"

It looks like Chris Matthews has someone new to send a tingle up his leg. He is excited about the possibility of Charlie Crist winning the open Florida Senate seat and joining the Democratic caucus. Crist bolted the Republican party when it became obvious he couldn't defeat conservative Republican Macro Rubio. He is now running as an Independent in a three way race.

Crist is currently up by 4.8 points in the RCP poll average. If you want to help Rubio out in this critical race, his campaign website is here.

Charlie Crist to Heckler Who Asked About Money Donated to Him as a Republican: "I'm going to keep it."

Charlie Crist opened his new campaign headquarters in Florida this weekend. A heckler asked about the money donated to him while he was pretending to be a republican.
The standout moment came when a heckler started shouting at Crist (around 3:10 into clip), “What about the guys who gave you money when you were a Republican?!”

“I’m going to keep it!” Crist cheerfully responded.

Crist is such a weasel.

Confirmed: Crist Was a RINO (video)

Republican Florida Governor Charlie Crist has decided come out as a RINO and dump the Republican Party to run as an Independent. Less than two weeks ago Charlie Crist told FOX News' Chris Wallace how proud he was to be a Republican, pledged to not run as an Independent and even promised to support the Republican candidate for Senate whoever it might be. Here is the video.

Crist Rules Out Running For Senate As Independent

FOX News is reporting Crist will come out an an Independent candidate Thursday.
Republican Florida Governor Charlie Crist has decided he will run as an independent in the race to fill the Florida U.S. Senate seat, Crist allies tell Fox News. The official announcement is scheduled for Thursday at 5pm ET in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Senate campaign has been rough and tumble for Crist, he was once the front-runner -- but in recent months began trailing his GOP opponent, Tea Party favorite and former Florida State Speaker Marco Rubio. Rubio has been able to turn a 30-point deficit in the polls into a 30 point lead over Crist.

If the FOX News report is correct, Charlie Crist is a liar. No Florida voter should believe anything he promises.
