Cockfight claims unexpected victim...
Karma baby...
Jose Ochoa died after a rooster stabbed him in the leg during an illegal cockfight near Tulare County, Calif.
The rooster had a razor-like knife attached to its leg, which the birds use to fight each other to the death, notes LA Weekly.
Ochoa may have lost too much blood by fleeing the police and waiting to be taken to the Delano Regional Medical Center.
“I have never seen this type of incident,” Sgt. Martin King told the Bakersfield Californian. “People have been known to bleed out from those injuries if medical attention is not obtained immediately.”
Ochoa has been charged previously for training roosters for cockfights, but he and other participants fled when police arrived. Police have found several dead roosters but have not arrested anyone yet.

Karma: Hezbollah in Lebanon is afraid of attacks by suicide bombers...
There isn't anybody to cheer for in this conflict...
Via Times of Israel:
Via Times of Israel:
Fearing suicide attacks against Shi’ite targets in Lebanon, Hezbollah is adopting special security measures. According to Lebanese media reports, the Shi’ite organization has put up both fixed and mobile checkpoints in the heart of Baalbek, a Lebanese city known as a Shi’ite stronghold.
The unusual measures stem from concern about the possibility of bombings, similar to Tuesday’s incident in the Beir el-Abed neighborhood in Beirut’s Dahiyeh quarter during which 53 people were injured when an explosives-laden car exploded.
According to reports, the checkpoints were established near the city’s well-known Shi’ite study hall, or Husseiniya, named after the Imam Hussein. Similar procedures were implemented nearmosques.
Hezbollah is wary of a repeat of Tuesday’s attack and the passage of car bombs and suicide bombers from Syria to Shi’ite areas in Lebanon.
While there was no immediate claim of responsibility for that attack, there have been growing fears in Lebanon that Hezbollah could face retaliation for its now overt role fighting alongside President Bashar Assad’s troops inside Syria, including, activists say, in the embattled city of Homs near the Lebanese border.

Karma: Man steals cell phone from Ebola patient, gets Ebola...
Justice is served...
Via Daily Monitor:
Via Daily Monitor:
Security and medical officials in Kibaale District have registered a case in which a man allegedly went in an isolation ward at Kagadi Hospital and stole a cellular phone from one of the Ebola patients.
The 40-year-old resident of Kyakabugahya LCI in Kagadi Town Council travelled about three kilometers to the hospital to apparently obtain a phone estimated to be valued at Shs60,000 more than two weeks ago.
The suspect allegedly broke into the isolation ward on the night of Tuesday August 14, undetected by hospital guards. The patient, who has since succumbed to the deadly hemorrhagic fever, then reported the theft to the hospital security that then embarked on tracing the alleged thief.
Police detectives began tracking him after he apparently began communicating to his friends using the phone. But as police zeroed in on him, he developed symptoms similar to those of Ebola and sought medication at the hospital.

Karma: Shoplifters have car burglarized while they were shoplifting (with mugshot goodness)
The shoplifters were caught and cited. The burglar seems to have escaped for the time being.
OGDEN — Two people cited for shoplifting became victims of a crime themselves.
While they were questioned in the shoplifting case, police say someone broke into their vehicle and stole a stereo and several other items. It happened about 5 p.m. Thursday at the WinCo Foods at the corner of Wall and 12th Street in Ogden.
“Store security had the individuals in custody, in their office,” Ogden Police Lt. Eric Young said. “They had reviewed surveillance video and recovered stolen property from the suspects.”
Police say Eldon Alexander, 36, and 47-year-old Korin Vanhouten tried to walk out of the store with several small-ticket items like makeup, energy bars and batteries. They were cited for shoplifting and let go.
But as the officer started to leave, “He sees the two suspects trying to flag him down in the parking lot,” Young said, “and he goes over to their location and realizes that their vehicle has actually been burglarized.”

Proof of Karma?

I was never a believer in the Buddhism theory of Karma. Karma is the law of moral causation. It is the belief that in this world nothing happens to a person that he does not for some reason or other deserve. After reading the excerpted story from dailymail.co.uk, I will have to reconsider my beliefs.
Monkey gets revenge on owner who forced him to climb trees for coconuts... by killing him with a well-aimed coconut
By Andrew Drummond
A monkey enjoys a Pepsi during an annual monkey feast in Lopburi province, north of Bangkok held to promote tourism (file photo). A monkey like this one is believed to have killed its owner with a coconut
A monkey who tired of being forced to climb trees to pick coconuts killed his owner with a well-aimed coconut.
The owner died immediately from the monkey's throw from the top of a tree in the Thai Province of Nakorn Sri Thammarat, according to the Samui Express newspaper.
The newspaper said that Leilit Janchoom, 48, had beaten the monkey whenever he showed any hesitance to climb a tree.
The owner was insistent because he got the equivalent of 4p for every coconut picked. (excerpt) read more at dailymail.co.uk
