Not Shocking: Dems Want To Bail Out Detroit...

Dems love bailouts...

Via RCP:
A new national poll from Quinnipiac University shows that a majority Democrats believe the federal government should bail out Detroit, but an even larger majority of Americans oppose such a move. Fifty-one percent of Democrats support Washington providing federal assistance to Detroit, which last month became the largest American city ever to seek bankruptcy protection.

Not surprisingly, there is a strong partisan divide on the question of a federal bailout for the Motor City. Seventy-three percent of Republicans oppose a bailout, while only 18 percent support the idea. Independents are nearly of the same mind as Republicans on the issue: 68 percent oppose federal assistance for Detroit and 28 percent support it.

Rep. Trey Gowdy: Obama administration is hiding Benghazi survivors and changing their names...

Rep. Trey Gowdy:
“Including changing names, creating aliases. Stop and think what things are most calculated to get at the truth? Talk to people with first-hand knowledge. What creates the appearance and perhaps the reality of a cover-up? Not letting us talk with people who have the most amount of information, dispersing them around the country and changing their names.”

5 out of the 6 flags Americans planted on the moon are still standing...

Via Space Industry News:
Since the United States landed on the Moon on July 20th 1969, there has been an American flag standing on its surface. While 5 out of the 6 flags still stand (Neil Armstrong reported that Apollo 11′s flag was knocked over by engine thrust), the colors of Old Glory have faded due to the Suns harsh radiation.

“From the LROC images it is now certain that the American flags are still standing and casting shadows at all of the sites, except Apollo 11,” LROC principal investigator Mark Robinson wrote. “Astronaut Buzz Aldrin reported that the flag was blown over by the exhaust from the ascent engine during liftoff of Apollo 11, and it looks like he was correct!”

The original Apollo flags cost NASA $5.50 and made of nylon by Annin Flagmakers.

On the surface of Earth, even with our protective atmosphere, flags flown in bright sunlight for 44 years will fade severely. The Moon doesn’t have any protection or shade so the flags on it’s surface would have been exposed to glaring sunlight since they were planted. They are also bombarded by the Suns radiation due to not having any protection.

77% want to delay or repeal Obamacare individual mandate...

Democrats can't do it. the whole Obamacare house of cards collapses if they do.

Via Weekly Standard:
A new poll finds 77 percent of Americans support either delaying or repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate. The extensive survey of 2,076 registered voters found that 28 percent say the individual mandate that Americans purchase health insurance coverage should be delayed, while 49 percent say the mandate should be repealed entirely. Among those who favor delay or repeal of the mandate are 91 percent of Republicans, 77 percent of independents, and 65 percent of Democrats.
The survey, conducted on behalf of the Morning Consult, also found that 50 percent of registered voters say they somewhat or strongly oppose the individual mandate. Asked what should be done about Obamacare, 33 percent say Congress should make changes to improve the law, 30 percent say it should be repealed, 21 percent said the law should go into effect, 12 percent say the law should be expanded, and just 4 percent say it should be defunded and delayed.

Closed Mind Alert: Interior Secretary Sally Jewell wants no climate change deniers in her department...

Meanwhile, record lows are being recorded across much of the US...

Via TPM:
Interior Secretary Sally Jewell addressed her employees Thursday on the “moral imperative” to address climate change, reminding them they are able to “actually do something about it,”E&E News reported.
“I hope there are no climate change deniers in the Department of Interior,” she said.
If any climate change deniers did work in the department, Jewell continued, they should visit the federally managed lands where the changing climate is visible. She listed the melting permafrost in Alaska and the shrinking snowpacks in the Sierra Mountains as examples, according to E&E.
Jewell also gave a “shout-out” to Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor, who was nominated by Obama for the deputy secretary of Interior post, E&E reported.

At least 4 more years for OJ Simpson...

Looks like corn hole watch is aging OJ

He should be doing life without parole. I wonder if any African Americans actually still believe he was innocent?
After five years behind bars, O.J. Simpson has won a small victory with a Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners decision - but the former NFL star won't likely be leaving prison anytime soon.
The board on Wednesday approved Simpson's parole request on five concurrent sentences imposed in 2008 following his conviction for kidnapping and armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas hotel room.
But he still has more time to serve for other sentences ordered to run consecutively.
Simpson faces at least four more years - and three more parole hearings - unless Clark County District Judge Linda Marie Bell throws out his conviction and grants him a new trial.
Bell presided over a weeklong hearing in May, during which Simpson's current lawyers Patricia Palm and Ozzie Fumo argued that his trial attorney, Yale Galanter, botched Simpson's defense and had a conflict of interest in the case.
