Scary: Team Obama is demanding user passwords from Internet companies...

The amount of government intrusion into our privacy is getting ridiculous...

Via Cnet:
The U.S. government has demanded that major Internet companies divulge users’ stored passwords, according to two industry sources familiar with these orders, which represent an escalation in surveillance techniques that has not previously been disclosed.
If the government is able to determine a person’s password, which is typically stored in encrypted form, the credential could be used to log in to an account to peruse confidential correspondence or even impersonate the user. Obtaining it also would aid in deciphering encrypted devices in situations where passwords are reused.
“I’ve certainly seen them ask for passwords,” said one Internet industry source who spoke on condition of anonymity. “We push back.”
A second person who has worked at a large Silicon Valley company confirmed that it received legal requests from the federal government for stored passwords. Companies “really heavily scrutinize” these requests, the person said. “There’s a lot of ‘over my dead body.’”
Some of the government orders demand not only a user’s password but also the encryption algorithm and the so-called salt, according to a person familiar with the requests. A salt is a random string of letters or numbers used to make it more difficult to reverse the encryption process and determine the original password. Other orders demand the secret question codes often associated with user accounts.

Team Obama helped organize anti-George Zimmerman protests...

Shameful race-baiting by the Obama administration...

Via The Daily caller:
A division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) was deployed to Sanford, Florida in 2012 to provide assistance for anti-George Zimmerman protests, including a rally headlined by activist Al Sharpton, according to newly released documents.
The Community Relations Service (CRS), a unit of DOJ, reported expenses related to its deployment in Sanford to help manage protests between March and April 2012, according to documents obtained by the watchdog group Judicial Watch.
CRS spent $674.14 between March 25-27 related to having been “deployed to Sanford, FL, to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies related to the shooting and death of an African-American teen by a neighborhood watch captain.” CRS spent another $1,142.84 for the same purpose between March 25-28.

Team Obama is spying on your phone calls...

What could possible go wrong?

Via Guardian:
The National Security Agency is currently collecting the telephone records of millions of US customers of Verizon, one of America’s largest telecoms providers, under a top secret court order issued in April.

The order, a copy of which has been obtained by the Guardian, requires Verizon on an “ongoing, daily basis” to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the US and between the US and other countries.

The document shows for the first time that under the Obama administration the communication records of millions of US citizens are being collected indiscriminately and in bulk – regardless of whether they are suspected of any wrongdoing.

The secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (Fisa) granted the order to the FBI on April 25, giving the government unlimited authority to obtain the data for a specified three-month period ending on July 19.

Under the terms of the blanket order, the numbers of both parties on a call are handed over, as is location data, call duration, unique identifiers, and the time and duration of all calls. The contents of the conversation itself are not covered.

The disclosure is likely to reignite longstanding debates in the US over the proper extent of the government’s domestic spying powers.

Team Obama and DNC drop $1.4 million on polling in March

Is someone getting nervous?
(Politico) — Despite a disavowal of making political decisions based on polling data, the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee have spent more than $1.4M combined on polling in March alone.
The DNC has spent $1.2M on polling, with eight different firms in March — following a February where the committee spent another $1.1M on polling. The Obama campaign spent another $237,000 on polling in March with one firm.
“I think the fact of the matter is the president, the administration is not focused on polling data,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters in January — a statement that doesn’t exactly square with the amount of money that the DNC and the campaign have put into internal polls.

Team Obama Desperate for the ‘bumper sticker’ of the 2012 campaign

Instead of "Hope and Change," I suggest "How's That Hope & Change Working Out For You?"

From The Hill:
President Obama’s re-election team has been training its fire on potential Republican opponents of late.

But the question of what the president is for, rather than what he is against, has been met with diffuse answers.

Those answers tend to revolve around either general sentiments about protecting the middle class or a broad miscellany of policy goals — economic regeneration, environmental protection and educational improvement among them.

The problem for Team Obama is that, so far, they have found no clear way of encapsulating his case for a second term.

The option of running as the candidate of “hope and change” is no longer available for a man who has occupied the Oval Office for almost three years. But the search for a concise rationale for his candidacy — the ‘bumper sticker’ of the 2012 campaign — has not yet been fruitful.

Obama Ag Secretary: More People On Food Stamps Means More Jobs (Video)

Does team Obama really believe this disinformation or are that bald-faced liars?

Flashback: Last week WH spokesman Jay Carney claimed unemployment benefits created jobs. I guess if we could just give out enough government welfare, we would have full employment and the economy would be saved. (snark)

5 months after officially ending drilling ban; Obama Administration approves a deepwater drilling permit

It only took 5 months after the drilling ban and a $1.46 per gallon increase to get Team Obama to approve a deepwater drilling permit.
WASHINGTON (AFP) – The US government has awarded its first permit for deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico since a moratorium was lifted after the BP oil disaster last year, a senior official said Monday.
Michael Bromwich, head of the Interior Department's Bureau of Ocean Energy, said the permit was approved for US firm Noble Energy after a thorough vetting process and marked "a significant milestone" for Gulf operations.

"Noble Energy's application has met the requirements of our new safety regulations and information requirements," Bromwich said in a conference call with reporters.
Higher gas prices are causing worry of a double-dip recession. If the economy tailspins back into recession, President Obama's reelection chances are dismal and none.

Team Obama Shuts Down ACORN Corruption Investigation

Why is this not surprising? Judicial Watch has obtained FBI documents from the FBI that reference the Obama administration's decision to shutdown the the investigation into ACORN's voter fraud. This shouldn't be surprising. Team Obama didn't want to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation either.

From Judicial Watch:

The documents reference serious allegations of corruption and voter registration fraud by ACORN as well as the Obama administration’s decision to shut down a criminal investigation without filing criminal charges....

However, the Obama Justice Department, while noting that ACORN had engaged in “questionable hiring and training practices,” closed down the investigation in March 2009, claiming ACORN broke no laws.

Being a RINO Fails To Pay Off For Arnold

First, democrats lied to and double-crossed Arnold Schwarzenegger about Obamacare. Now, Arnold needs money from a federal bailout to keep California running. Team Obama's response seems to be "drop dead."

But today, David Axelrod was quoted as saying that he recognizes California’s problems, but can’t solve them all from Washington. To recall a famous line from the Seventies: Drop dead!
