Report: Rupert Murdoch offers more than $75 billion for Time Warner Inc

This could be real change...

Via Bloomberg:
Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. (FOXA) is willing to pay more than $75 billion for Time Warner Inc. (TWX), according to people with knowledge of the matter, a sign Rupert Murdoch is undeterred after being rebuffed in an initial offer for the media company. Time Warner shares soared.
Fox’s willingness to raise its offer higher than $85 a share is contingent on Time Warner engaging in talks and opening its books to Fox, according to one of the people, who said Murdoch hasn’t been directly involved in discussions. A deal would reshape the media industry by giving the TV-and-film companies bargaining power in negotiations with cable operators such as Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Cable Inc., which are in the process of their own merger. Surprise: Obama named Time 'Person of the Year"

I thought Obama was "Messiah of the Year."

Via Reuters:

(Reuters) - Time has tapped U.S. President Barack Obama for its Person of the Year for the second time, citing his historic re-election last month as symbolic of the nation's shifting demographics and the rise of younger, more diverse Americans.
In announcing its annual selection on Wednesday, the magazine called Obama the "Architect of the New America."

"He's basically the beneficiary and the author of a kind new America - a new demographic, a new cultural America that he is now the symbol of," Time editor Rick Stengel said of Obama, who was also selected for the honor in 2008 when he became the nation's first black president.

Unbelievable: Sandra Fluke Nominated For Time’s Person Of The Year Award…

Sandra Fluke has been nominated for TIME’s Person of the Year 2012 for being too stupid to find her way to Target and get birth control for $9 a month.
The daughter of a conservative Christian pastor, Sandra Fluke, 31, became a women’s-rights activist in college and continued her advocacy as a law student at Georgetown. After she complained about being denied a chance to testify at a Republican-run House hearing on insurance coverage for birth control, Rush Limbaugh called Fluke a “slut.” Democrats and many Republicans reacted with outrage, and the left made Limbaugh’s slur Exhibit A in what they called a GOP “war on women.” Fluke, meanwhile, weathered the attention with poise and maturity and emerged as a political celebrity. Democrats gave her a national-convention speaking slot as part of their push to make reproductive rights a central issue in the 2012 presidential campaign — one that helped Barack Obama trounce Mitt Romney among single women on Election Day.

Palin Derangement Syndrome Causes Time Magazine to Get Punked

America by Heart : Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag

Hey liberals, if a Sarah Palin story sounds to good to be true, it is probably a fake or a spoof. Don't let your Palin Derangement Syndrome destroy your last shred of credibility.

Via Gossip Cop:
As Gossip Cop reported yesterday, after a satirical site wrote an article in which the former Alaska governor blasts Aguilera’s bungled national anthem performance during a supposed “radio interview” with Sean Hannity, Us Weekly ran the fabricated remarks as authentic.

Among other outlandish comments, “Palin” says in the spoof interview she wants to “deport” Aguilera and declares that “spicy Latin princesses” shouldn’t be permitted to perform the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
The original, clearly labeled satire can be found here.

Us Weekly eventually yanked its story and today printed a retraction and apology.
But it turns out Us Weekly wasn’t alone.

Time magazine’s website made the same mistake.

In a post about Conan O’Brien making fun of Aguilera, Time casually observes, “And you thought Sarah Palin went overboard by commenting that she wanted to deport the singer?”

Time Magazine Delivers a Harsh Analysis of the Obama White House: "In over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless"

In 2008, Time named Barack Obama their "2008 Person of the Year." Now, Time Magazine finally been forced to face reality and call the Obama White house, "In over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless." That about sums it up.

Time Reported:
Barack Obama is being politically crushed in a vise. From above, by elite opinion about his competence. From below, by mass anger and anxiety over unemployment. And it is too late for him to do anything about this predicament until after November’s elections.

With the exception of core Obama Administration loyalists, most politically engaged elites have reached the same conclusions: the White House is in over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless about how to get along with or persuade members of Congress, the media, the business community or working-class voters.

Time should be ashamed, but the liberal mainstream media have no shame when it comes to pumping liberal causes.
