It's hard to believe most non-Muslims  don't like pork. 

WASHINGTON — After a week of controversy surrounding its abrupt removal of pork dishes from the national menu for federal inmates, the government did an about-face this week and put pork roast back on the prison bill of fare.
The Bureau of Prisons disclosed the decision to The Washington Post hours after a Republican Senate leader expressed dismay at what he implied was a wasteful survey of inmates’ food preferences and a lack of transparency in the decision.
“The pork industry is responsible for 547,800 jobs, which creates $22.3 billion in personal incomes and contributes $39 billion to the gross domestic product,” Sen. Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa, wrote in a letter Thursday to Bureau of Prisons Director Charles E. Samuels, Jr.[snip]

To corroborate the validity of the claim that prisoners indicated a lack of interest in pork products, I am requesting copies of the prisoner surveys and responses that were used to support the determination to no longer serve pork in federal prisons. Additionally, the spokesman indicated that pork had been the lowest rated food, ‘for several years.’ ...

Obama said flatly during a ’60 Minutes’ interview on Sunday that ‘No,’ he did not know Clinton sidestepped security protocols with her a home-brew email setup while she was his secretary of state.
The FBI agent who spoke with DailyMail.com has had a 20-year career in federal law enforcement and serves in a supervisory capacity in a domestic FBI field office.
He said on Friday that failing to put Obama in the loop could be enough to send her to prison for ten years.

Barack Obama broke the law in Bergdahl-Taliban prisoner swap...

I am glad Mr. Bergdahl is free, but Obama is not above the law in spite of what he seems to think.

Amid jubilation Saturday over the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from captivity by the Taliban, senior Republicans on Capitol Hill said they were troubled by the means by which it was accomplished, which was a deal to release five Afghan detainees from the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Top Republicans on the Senate and House armed services committees went so far as to accuse President Obama of having broken the law, which requires the administration to notify Congress before any transfers from Guantanamo are carried out.
“Trading five senior Taliban leaders from detention in Guantanamo Bay for Bergdahl’s release may have consequences for the rest of our forces and all Americans. Our terrorist adversaries now have a strong incentive to capture Americans. That incentive will put our forces in Afghanistan and around the world at even greater risk,” House Armed Services Committee Chairman Howard P. McKeon (R-Calif.) and the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, James M. Inhofe (Okla.), said in a joint statement.
Lawmakers were not notified of the Guantanamo detainees’ transfer until after it occurred.
The law requires the defense secretary to notify relevant congressional committees at least 30 days before making any transfers of prisoners, to explain the reason and to provide assurances that those released would not be in a position to reengage in activities that could threaten the United States or its interests.

A federal judge sentenced former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. to 30 months, or about 2-and-a-half years, in prison for misuse of campaign funds.
“This is a very sad day and a difficult case,” said Judge Amy Berman Jackson before the  sentence was handed down. She said she finds he is “genuinely committed”  to his work in Congress. But, she said  he wrote checks and credit charges more than 3,000 times.
Talking about Jackson’s illness, she said “this disorder can not begin to explain” the multiple purchases.
“You are a member of Congress who never missed a vote,” the judge said, adding that she received letters from people implying Jackson is “guilty of bad acts but you are not a bad man.”
“But as a public official you are supposed to live up to a higher standard of integrity,” she said.

This cat in Brazil was arrested for attempting to smuggle a file, drill bits and other contraband into a prison. 

A cat has been detained in the grounds of a jail in Brazil with contraband goods for prisoners strapped to its body with tape.

The white cat was apprehended crossing the main prison gate.

The incident took place at a jail in Arapiraca city, 250km (155 miles) south-west of Recife in Alagoas state.

The confiscated items included drill bits, files, a mobile phone and charger, plus earphones The cat was taken to a local animal centre.

The ordeal for Jon Hammar Jr., who languished under deplorable conditions in a violent Mexican prison for four months, is finally over.

Jon Hammar Sr. has confirmed that his 27-year-old son, a Marine combat veteran, is back on U.S. soil and with him in a rented car in Brownsville, Texas.

Hammar Sr. said his son was released from the notorious CEDES prison at 8 p.m. local time and made it back across the bridge between Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, Texas by around 8:30 p.m.

Dirty Democrat and former Representative William Jefferson has started his thirteen year federal sentence for corruption and bribery. You may remember he was found with almost $100,000 in cash in his home freezer.

William Jefferson reported Friday to the low-security federal prison in Beaumont, Texas, to begin serving a 13-year sentence, the longest ever for a congressional member. Jefferson, 65, arrived about 40 minutes ahead of the noon deadline set by U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III who presided over Jefferson's 2009 trial for corruption and bribery.

It marked a dramatic change for the man who had risen from a childhood in Lake Providence, one of north Louisiana's poorest communities, to a Harvard law degree, a leadership role in the Louisiana Legislature and nine-terms in Congress representing New Orleans, including a spot on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. [...]

Jefferson was convicted of orchestrating a series of schemes in which he used his position to promote business deals in Africa, in exchange for payments and a promised share of profits. Yes. The United States currently holds a political prisoner. Lt. Col. Terry Lakin has bee serving a six month prison term in Leavenworth. Col. Terry Lakin is a doctor and decorated war veteran. His crime? He asked to see Obama's long form birth certificate. Col. Lakin is unsure of President Obama's eligibility and refused to deploy until Obama released this records. He was subjected to a court-martial where he wasn't allowed the opportunity for discovery or to present a defense. Col. Lakin is unbroken and has been reading the Federalist Papers and Constitution while incarcerated. President Obama allowed an American hero and man of principle to go to prison in order to prevent releasing a document he could have gotten from Hawaii for a measly ten dollars.

(WND)- Friends of Lt. Col. Terry Lakin are hoping a few hundred people will show up to greet the jailed military doctor when he's released from prison and returns to Baltimore, Md., on May 14.

Dr. Terry Lakin, an Army doctor who refused to deploy again to Afghanistan when his chain of command refused to verify that Obama legitimately is president, has been serving a six-month term at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas.

Weird News: Two sisters released from prison for kidney transplant are too fat for surgery

The two sisters were in prison for armed robbery. They got sprung because one sister needed a kidney transplant and the other was to be the donor. The surgery has been postponed until they can lose a combined 160 pounds. It is unclear if Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour will have them returned to prison. He seems to be avoiding the question.

Jamie and Gladys Scott had served nearly 16 years of their life sentences for an armed robbery when they were released from a sprawling prison in central Mississippi on Jan. 7. Gov. Haley Barbour granted Jamie Scott an early release because she suffers from kidney failure, but he agreed to let Gladys Scott go on the condition she follow through on an offer to donate a kidney to her sister.

James "Beam Me Up" Traficant is Out of Prison and Wants His Old Congressional Seat Back

Most people would say, "No way," but take a look at some of the people currently holding Congressional seats. Traficant was convicted in 2002 of racketeering and bribery. He served seven years in prison. Aside from his criminal activities, he was famous for ending often bizarre speeches with the Star Trek term "Beam Me Up."
