Liberal NYT bestselling author and newspaper columnist David Sirota said about former Green Jobs Czar Van Jones, “Van Jones Is A National Hero” on CNN American Morning. He is angry, "that the White House is listening to right-wing political terrorists, people like Glenn Beck." When you make liberals this angry, you must be doing something right.

How do Americans view organized labor this Labor Day?
According to Gallop, support for labor unions is at a historic low. There has been a sharp decline in the last year.

Powerline Blog suggests reasons for this decline.

Powerline Blog suggests reasons for this decline.
What seems odd about these poll data is their volatility. Both Gallup and Rasmussen find support for unions down sharply from a year ago. Why would someone favor unions last year but disapprove of them this year? Maybe it has to do with card check or the bailouts, or, more broadly, people being reminded of how union bosses behave when they're in power.
Rasmussen: Obama's Presidential Approval Index is Back Down to -13
Forty-one percent of voters now strongly disapprove of how President Obama is doing his job. This has pushed his Presidential Approval Index is back down to -13. President Obama hit his lowest number of -14 on August 23, 2009. The Presidential Approval Index has been in the negative double digits for 9 consecutive days.
From Rasmussen:
From Rasmussen:

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve.
The more we learn about the Lockerbie bomber's release, the worse it gets

The more we learn about the Lockerbie bomber's release, the worse it gets. There is now confirmation Libya paid for the medical diagnosis that allowed the Lockerbie bomber to go free. This finding that he had only three months to live conflicted with other medical experts opinions.
From the Telegraph:
Medical evidence that helped Megrahi, 57, to be released was paid for by the Libyan government, which encouraged three doctors to say he had only three months to live...
Megrahi is suffering from terminal prostate cancer. Two of the three doctors commissioned by the Libyans provided the required three-month estimates, while the third also indicated that the prisoner had a short time to live.
This contrasted with findings of doctors in June and July who had concluded that Megrahi had up to 10 months to live, which would have prevented his release.
The British government was motivated by an oil deal..
TIMESONLINE reported:
The British government decided it was “in the overwhelming interests of the United Kingdom” to make Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, eligible for return to Libya, leaked ministerial letters reveal.
Gordon Brown’s government made the decision after discussions between Libya and BP over a multi-million-pound oil exploration deal had hit difficulties. These were resolved soon afterwards.
The letters were sent two years ago by Jack Straw, the justice secretary, to Kenny MacAskill, his counterpart in Scotland, who has been widely criticised for taking the formal decision to permit Megrahi’s release.
The correspondence makes it plain that the key decision to include Megrahi in a deal with Libya to allow prisoners to return home was, in fact, taken in London for British national interests.
It is unclear what was in the deal for the Obama administration, but they knew exactly what was going on all along.
The Daily Mail reported:
‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.
‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.
'They knew about our prisoner transfer agreement with Libya and they knew that the Scots were considering Megrahi’s case.’
Obama names Yet Another Czar

The newest czar to be added to the Obama collection is Ron Bloom. He will be the new "czar" for manufacturing. Ron Bloom was the former "car czar."
From the Detroit News:
Washington -- President Barack Obama will announce Monday that he's tapping his chief auto adviser to try to revitalize the struggling U.S. manufacturing sector.
Ron Bloom will assume the title of senior counselor for manufacturing policy in addition to his role as senior adviser on the president's task force on the automotive industry.
Obama said in a statement late Sunday that the manufacturing sector expanded in August for the first time in 18 months and had the highest monthly output in two years.
Bloom doesn't have any manufacturing experience, but he is in big labor's pocket.
From Reuters:
Prior to joining the Obama administration, Bloom was a special assistant to the president of the United Steelworkers Union. His responsibilities included the union's collective bargaining program.
Prior to joining the Steelworkers, Bloom was one of the founding partners of Keilin and Bloom, an investment banking firm, where he was involved in numerous transactions on behalf of the Steelworkers, the Auto Workers, the Teamsters, the Air Line Pilots Association and other unions.
Before founding Keilin and Bloom, Bloom was a vice president at the investment banking firm of Lazard Freres & Co. where he specialized in analyzing, structuring and raising financing for union-led employee-ownership transactions.
