Scary: Congressional Black Caucus wants Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee as next DHS Secretary

Via Houston Chronicle:
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee as a replacement for outgoing-DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.”
A letter  dated July 25 and signed by CBC Chairwoman Rep. Marcia Fudge, an Ohio Democrat, urges President Barack Obama to consider Jackson Lee for the position formerly held by Janet Napolitano, the first woman to hold the position. Napolitano resigned earlier this month to become president of the University of California.
“Representative Jackson Lee would serve as an effective DHS Secretary because she understands the importance of increasing border security and maintaining homeland security,” the nomination letter reads.

Moonbattery has a rundown of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee's stupidity:
Readers have encountered this liberal “voice of reason” many times before, as for example when she called for American citizens to turn in their firearms, when she established herself as the Queen of Nastiness, when she took a snooze on the House floor, when she brought a phony doctor to advocate socialized medicine at a town hall meeting, when she diverted Islamic terror hearings into an attack on Christians, when she denounced a bill that would give closer scrutiny to suffocating regulations, when she proclaimed that the ObamaCare penalty is not a penalty, when she tried to arm vociferous American enemy Hugo Chavez, when she went completely off the rails while going to bat for Islam, when she rudely took a phone call while a subject was asking her a question at a town hall meeting, when she revealed in 2010 that South Vietnam was still in existence, when she hijacked Michael Jackson’s hearse, when she moved boldly to terminate freedom of speech, and of course when she referred to the American flag Neil Armstrong planted on Mars.

Hollywood moonbat Leonardo DiCaprio plans to save the environment by flying around the world in a jet plane

You can't make stuff this stupid up...
(NZ Herald) — Django Unchained and Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio says he is planning to take a significant break from filming and concentrate on his environmental campaigning.
In an interview with Germany’s mass circulation daily Bild, the 38-year-old American actor said: “I am a bit drained. I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out.”
“I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment,” added DiCaprio, in comments published in German.
DiCaprio is currently starring in Quentin Tarantino’s blood-soaked spaghetti Western tribute Django Unchained, which picked up two Golden Globes on Sunday.

Hollywood moonbat Danny Glover: The Second Amendment was about slavery and stealing Indian land or something...

The second Amendment was a reaction to the fight against tyrant King George in the Revolutionary war. If we had no weapons, we would have lost.

Via Campus Reform:
The Constitution’s Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans, award winning actor Danny Glover told a group of students at a Texas A&M sponsored event on Thursday.
“I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” he said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans.”
“A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is,” he continued.
Glover, best known for roles in the “Lethal Weapon” franchise and “Angels in the Outfield,” was addressing students at an event being held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Director of Texas A&M’s Memorial Student Center, Luke Altendorf, told Campus Reform on Friday that the university was unaware of Glover’ talking points prior to his speech.

Demo Congresswoman thinks Dutch practiced slavery in 1898...in Brooklyn, NYC

It appears Hank "Guam may tip over and capsize" Johnson has met his soul mate.

Via Politicker:
Congresswoman Yvette Clarke went on The Colbert Report last night, where she argued some questionable points regarding her borough’s history. Notably, Ms. Clarke contended that the Dutch continued the practice of slavery in Brooklyn in 1898.
However, the Dutch lost control of its colonies in the area to England in the 1674 Treaty of Westminster. Also, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution officially outlawed slavery in 1865.

Barking Moonbat Alert: Actress Ellen Barkin retweets message to RNC

If Republicans were saying things like this, democrats would want them arrested for hate crimes.

August 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the aftermath of the Family Research Council shooting, prominent voices on the Left have not tapped down their violent rhetoric against their opponents. Two Baby Boomer celebrities have taken to Twitter to hope pro-life, pro-family individuals and U.S. Congressman Todd Akin suffer a drowning or a same-sex rape, respectively.

On Sunday, Ellen Barkin expressed her hope that Tropical Storm Isaac would smash up the Republican National Convention in Tampa and drown all its delegates.

She retweeted the message of one of her followers that read: “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC ” Barkin did not express any disagreement in her retweet.

Moonbat mom abandons Banker husband and kids for OWS: “Military people leave their families all the time, so why should I feel bad?”

They are better off without her. It is especially telling she has a young waiter to keep her warm at night.
(NY Post) — A married mother of four from Florida ditched her family to become part of the raggedy mob in Zuccotti Park — keeping the park clean by day and keeping herself warm at night with the help of a young waiter from Brooklyn.

“I’m not planning on going home,” an unapologetic Stacey Hessler, 38, told The Post yesterday.
“I have no idea what the future holds, but I’m here indefinitely. Forever,” said Hessler, whose home in DeLand sits 911 miles from the tarp she’s been sleeping under.

Hessler — who ironically is married to a banker — arrived 12 days ago and planned to stay for a week, but changed her plans after cozying up to some like-minded radicals, including Rami Shamir, 30, a waiter at a French bistro in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.

She swears she’s not romantically involved with her new friend.

Yesterday was a typical day for the pair, who woke up at 8 a.m. on their little patch of paving stone near the communal kitchen and dashed off to Trinity Church to wash up.

Hessler emerged an hour later, her brown hair in dreadlocks, wearing a T-shirt depicting Han Solo and Princess Leia kissing, and bearing the slogan “Make Love Not War.”

She got coffee and a granola bar from the protest kitchen before sorting laundry for two hours.

The unemployed Long Island native compared her decision to abandon her family to Americans serving in the armed forces.

“Military people leave their families all the time, so why should I feel bad?” a defiant Hessler said. “I’m fighting for a better world.”
Hopefully, there is a divorce in her future.

Today's leftist race card: The term 'break' is racist

Deranged leftist moonbat and MSNBC host Ed Schultz and a guest accused Senator Jim DeMint of using a 'racist' term when he said this about Obamacare,
“If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.”
"Break" is a racist term?  The race card has become worn very thin.
(RCP) — You may be a racist if. . . you use the term “break.” This according to Ed Schultz.
On his MSNBC program last night, Schultz referred to Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), someone Herman Cain would seriously consider as a running mate, as “the guy who used an old Southern, racist term when talking about defeating President Obama during the healthcare debate. Below is the offending statement:
DeMint (Audio, July 9, 2009): “If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.”

MSNBC's Ed Schultz deranged comments on DeMint start at the 30 second mark.

Moonbat Roseanne Barr Thinks Rich People Should Be "Beheaded" If They Won’t Give Up Their Wealth (Video)

Roseanne Barr:
“I, first, would allow the guilty bankers to pay back anything over $100 million (in) personal wealth, because I believe in the maximum wealth of $100 million. If they’re unable to live on that amount, they should go to re-education camps. And if that doesn’t work, they should be beheaded.”
I wonder where  Roseanne Barr got the $100 million number as the trigger to dust off the guillotine? Oh, her net worth is estimated to be $75 million. How convenient.

Who is up for a 90% top tax bracket?

Hollywood moonbat Ron Howard is. Hey, Opie. Just send in a check if you think you feel you aren't paying your fair share.
(TheDC) — Life was simpler in the fictional town of Mayberry, N.C., where “The Andy Griffith Show” was set, and images of Sheriff Andy Taylor and his son Opie evoke a more prosperous America. But did the mystique of that setting include a 90 percent tax rate on the wealthy?

On MSNBC Wednesday, appearing from the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., director and producer Ron Howard said he would be open to the wealthy paying more taxes.

“Well, to be honest, I remember on the ‘Andy Griffith Show’ when income taxes for the upper levels were as much as 90 percent,” Howard said. “And that’s the era that we often look back to with great nostalgia and it was a time of tremendous growth. So you know, I’m not averse to paying some taxes to try to help the country grow and help the economy grow.”
