Kentucky has one good senator. His name is Rand Paul. Paul also has a decent plan to repeal and replace Obamacare by mostly letting the free market work.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Sunday warned against taking seriously comments his Senate colleague John McCain of Arizona made on Saturday, in which the Arizona lawmaker compared President Trump's actions toward the press to "how dictators get started."
"The thing is, I don't agree with his analysis and applying that to the president," Paul told Jon Karl, guest host of ABC's "This Week." "Everything that [McCain] says about the president is colored by his own personal dispute he's got running with President Trump and it should be taken with a grain of salt, because John McCain's the guy that's advocated for war everywhere. He would bankrupt the nation."

Shock Poll: Veterans view Trump better than McCain...

There seems to be little blow back among veterans from Trump denying McCain being captured made him a war hero.

Among current veterans, a full 53% view Trump favorably compared to just 41% for McCain.
McCain’s unfavorable rating with this group is also higher than Trump’s, 49% to 42% respectively.
Among all Republicans, Trump still ties McCain with a 57% favorability rating. Only 3 points separate their unfavorable ratings with McCain doing a little better at 36% while Trump sits at 39%.

McCain, a senator from Arizona, said Biden — a former Senate colleague from Delaware — “deserves our gratitude and respect for his many years of effective leadership in ensuring that all the resources America has to influence the course of world events are funded adequately and used effectively.”
The 2008 GOP presidential nominee also said he has never “doubted for a moment that the United States of America is fortunate to be served by as able, articulate, honest, dedicated and impassioned a world leader as my friend Joe Biden.”

But McCain remains worried about the growing number of Republicans attacking members of their own party.
“I do worry about the Republican Party,” he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily Beast. “It’s the first time I have ever seen Republican senators running ads, raising money that is being used to attack incumbent Republican senators.”

McRino calls attempt to defund Obamacare “not rational”

Voting to fund Obamacare is irrational unless you support it.

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that it is “not rational” to think the Senate will vote to defund Obamacare.

“In the United States Senate, we will not repeal, or defund, Obamacare. We will not. And to think we can is not rational,” McCain said on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”

McCain said that a government shutdown would negatively impact the American people’s view of Republicans and was critical of members of Congress who are pushing the strategy.

A young researcher whose opinions on Syria were cited by both Senator McCain and Secretary of State John Kerry in congressional testimony last week has been fired from the Institute for the Study of War for allegedly faking her academic credentials.
The institute issued a statement on its website concerning the researcher, Elizabeth O’Bagy:

“The Institute for the Study of War has learned and confirmed that, contrary to her representations, Ms. Elizabeth O’Bagy does not in fact have a Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University. ISW has accordingly terminated Ms. O’Bagy’s employment, effective immediately.”

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) signaled Tuesday that the dramatic boost in border-security in the Senate’s comprehensive immigration bill could be one of the provisions that may be changed in a potential House-Senate compromise.

During an immigration forum hosted by the AFL-CIO Tuesday, McCain – a key Senate Gang of Eight negotiator – said while a pathway to citizenship for the nation’s undocumented immigrants is a “fundamental element” of the bill, the “rest of it could be adjusted.” He singled out the border security parts as an example.

“We don’t need 20,000 additional border patrol agents,” McCain said Tuesday. “But what we do need is use of technology that has been developed where we can survey the border more effectively.”

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Sunday that he is willing to consider supporting new tax revenue as part of a plan to avert $85 billion in looming budget cuts, as the White House pushed back against Republican lawmakers who say President Obama is solely responsible for the spending reductions.

McCain made the comments as he once again warned about the adverse effects of the spending reductions, known as sequestration, that will require federal agencies to slash $85 billion in spending by Sept. 30 — including $43 billion at the Pentagon.

The endorsement will offer the Romney campaign a huge story after a tight and ambiguous finish in Iowa.

On his Wednesday program, MSNBC host Thomas Roberts introduced McCain and asked her to address her back-and-forth with presidential candidate and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

“I think he’s delusional,” McCain said. “And him calling me clueless I think is so sexist and disgusting and lame and a really offhanded remark … that he’s making towards me. And I think it’s ridiculous. Any polls that he’s reading, if you were seriously running for president, you wouldn’t be taking vacations to Greece during the middle of your campaign trail. I think he has a lot of other issues that all of us are very well aware of. And I would bet my career he’s not going to be our next nominee.”

Mr. McCain’s likely nomination as the Republican candidate for president and the happenstance of his birth in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936 are reviving a musty debate that has surfaced periodically since the founders first set quill to parchment and declared that only a “natural-born citizen” can hold the nation’s highest office.

The Senate considered the issue worthy of a vote declaring John McCain is eligible to be President. Senator Barack Obama co-sponsored the resolution.

See how easy that was President Obama? Incidentally, McCain's short form was also released, but it lacked information such as the hospital McCain was born in. Obama's short form has the same deficiencies.

Democratic Rep. Gene Taylor (Miss.) is claiming he voted for John McCain in 2008. The Democratic Party is in meltdown mode.

Conservative Democratic Rep. Gene Taylor (Miss.) voted against his own party when he went to the ballot box to vote for president in 2008, he said over the weekend.

Taylor told the Sun Herald of South Mississippi that he chose Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president over then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)

Reporter Maria Recio told The Hill that when asked if he voted for the Democratic nominee in 2008, Taylor said “I did not vote for Obama. I voted for Sen. McCain. Better the devil you know.”

Three Weeks After Winning Primary, McCain Regains Interest in Backdoor Amnesty

When facing a conservative primary challenger back in July, Senator John McCain said he opposes immigration reform that would give illegal immigrants a way to become citizens.

McCain, who at one point had been the top Republican advocate for immigration legislation promising a pathway to citizenship for some illegal immigrants, said he favored establishing a guest worker program. But McCain expressed opposition to any program that would give illegal immigrants a way to become citizens.

“No amnesty. Many of them need to be sent back,” McCain said during an interview on KQTH-FM in Tucson, Ariz.

Now the primary is three weeks in the past, Senator McCain has suddenly become open-minded to amnesty for some illegal immigrants. This is why Conservatives should never vote for a RINO. They can't be trusted. Harry Reid only needs five more votes to pass the DREAM Act he is attaching to a defense bill. We have to wonder how many Republicans in Arizona will stay home on election day in disgust.

Obvious: BBC journalist Justin Webb Wonders if it Wouldn't Have Been Better if We'd Had President McCain?

Since President Obama has turned out to be more socialist that most Americans ever dreamed, the answer is an obvious 'yes.' John McCain wouldn't have been the ideal President; even for many Republicans. He supported climate change legislation and until recently leaned more towards immigration reform than border security. McCain infuriated many Republicans with his willingness to cross the aisle and compromise with Democrats. Having said that; McCain is a proven and experienced leader with fire in his belly. John McCain is running as a conservative now in order to win reelection, but few really believe him. McCain is about as middle of the road as politicians of either party go these days. He might have actually succeeded in bringing a new atmosphere to Washington. Here is a snippet from MailOnline:

Which leads thoughtful Americans to look back at the tumult of 2008 and wonder, in two separate cases . . . What if?

The first what if? refers to the main event: the presidential election victory over the elderly Republican dynamo John McCain. I met McCain a few times on the campaign trail and he impressed me with his work-rate and his un-presidential willingness to talk to BBC reporters on the hoof.

I remember tackling him in some God-forsaken town in Indiana or Ohio about why he had just given a speech backing action against climate change when most of his conservative audience regarded the subject as the dotty delusions of socialist Europeans.
