What are the voters thinking when they elect these Democrats posing as Republicans? 

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Wednesday that he doesn't think Republican senators should filibuster President Obama's Supreme Court nominee.
“I don't think we should filibuster Supreme Court nominees or any judicial nominees," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Wednesday.
Under a filibuster, 60 votes would be required to clear procedural hurdles ahead of a final confirmation vote.
At the same time, Hatch, a member of the Judiciary Committee, said in the interview that he would support whatever decision made by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the panel’s chairman.
He suggested that if Grassley so chooses, he could close down a debate over who should succeed Justice Antonin Scalia, who died on Saturday.
"All it would take is for Sen. Grassley to just say, ‘Look, we're not going to confirm anybody this year. The reason we're not going to confirm is because we value the court, we don't want it to be in this political atmosphere,’” Hatch said.
Hatch’s comments add to the mixed signals sent by Republicans over their strategy for handling an Obama nominee.

RINO Republicans are going to fund Obama's international climate fund for poorer nations

In a victory for the Obama administration, the spending package released by congressional leaders on Wednesday won’t block American financial contributions to an international climate fund for poorer nations.
The bill, greens and Democrats say, doesn’t explicitly appropriate funding for President Obama’s pledged contribution to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). But since the legislation doesn’t formally block money for the GCF either, Obama is expected to be able to use current discretionary funding streams to send American money to it.
The GFC is a pot of public and private money designed to help poorer nations prepare for climate change. Obama pledged last year to spend $3 billion on the fund by 2020, and he asked Congress to appropriate up to $500 million for it in 2016.

So, how is this different than if Harry Reid was still Majority Leader?  I guess Mitch McConnell is enjoying the bigger office as he plans to do the same things Harry Reid would. McConnell even voted to confirm Lynch.

For his next betrayal, Mitch is planning on continuing funding Obamacare subsidies if SCOTUS strikes them down. 

The legislation, offered by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), one of the most politically vulnerable Senate incumbents in 2016, would maintain the federal HealthCare.gov subsidies at stake in King v. Burwell through the end of August 2017.
The bill was unveiled this week with 29 other cosponsors, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his four top deputies, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), John Thune (R-SD), John Barrasso (R-WY) and Roy Blunt (R-MO). Another cosponsor is Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS), the chairman of the conference’s electoral arm…

Don't give any of these traitors, the Republican Party or any of their organizations or PAC's any money between now and 2017. If you think you know a candidate who isn't in a Washington insider or in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce, fund them. Good luck.

Note: It is strange 20 Republicans voted against the attempt to call out Obama's illegal immigration EO as unconstitutional. Some have speculated they did it in a petty fit of rage because Cruz forced them to work weekends. My guess is they are just RINOs being RINOs and have no intention to seriously fight Obama over his illegal immigration EO or any other serious issue next year.

The state Republican Party’s fall convention opened on a sour note Friday when the night’s keynote speaker acknowledged she might vote to reelect Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown.
Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin, the star of the evening’s tribute to Republican women and a candidate for state controller, told reporters she still hadn’t made up her mind whether to vote for Brown or Neel Kashkari, his GOP opponent in the Nov. 4 election.
“I’m looking at the two candidates like other Californians are,” she said.

 Representative Kevin McCarthy of California will replace Eric Cantor as majority leader.

(Reuters) – House of Representatives Republicans on Thursday chose an ally of Speaker John Boehner for the No. 2 job in the chamber and, in a victory for the party’s conservative wing, elevated a Southern lawmaker to a leadership role.
Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, already the third-ranking House Republican, was chosen to replace Eric Cantor as majority leader, Republican aide Riva Litman said.
He will control the House floor and help decide the party’s legislative priorities. McCarthy previously served as party whip, drumming up votes for legislation.
Steve Scalise, a Louisiana lawmaker with backing from Southern Republicans, beat out two other lawmakers on Thursday to replace McCarthy as party whip. Scalise has a solidly conservative record but also has had good ties with leadership, including Boehner.
The party’s conservative wing pushed for one of their own to join the leadership after a little-known professor with Tea Party support defeated Cantor in his Virginia primary. Cantor’s announcement that he would leave the leadership at the end of July prompted a surprise shake-up.

The latest apostate is former senator John Warner of Virginia, who announced this week he is backing incumbent Democratic senator Mark Warner for reelection. He is thus giving the back of his hand to former RNC chairman Ed Gillespie, a former George W. Bush adviser, who has a decent shot at winning and is no wild-eyed radical. Last year, Warner also endorsed the Georgia candidacy of Michelle Nunn, a Democrat, who is the daughter of former senator Sam Nunn, with whom Warner served in the Senate. He even attended a fundraiser on her behalf. Georgia Republicans who find themselves defending an open Senate seat in Georgia are furious since the Warner support allows Nunn to position herself as a bipartisan moderate.Nor is Warner the only problem ex-senator the GOP has to contend with as it strives to assemble a team capable of winning a Senate majority. Former senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, who lost his Senate GOP primary in 2012 to conservative Richard Mourdock and then declined to endorse him, has also endorsed Nunn and had his political PAC send her the maximum $5,000 contribution. Nunn praised Lugar for his “collaborative approach” and pledged to “follow this legacy in the U.S. Senate.”

You can't make stuff this stupid up. The GOP Senators who voted for the debt ceiling increase are now voting against it. Of course, they know the vote is meaningless now, but they will likely use it in their next campaign as evidence they voted against the debt ceiling increase. 

Twenty-seven Republican senators voted with Democrats on Oct. 16 to lift the debt ceiling and avert a catastrophic default. And each one of those 27 senators voted Tuesday to "disapprove" of their own votes.
The vote Tuesday was a symbolic "resolution to disapprove" of the debt limit hike. It was mandated by the deal thanks to a last-minute provision inserted by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). The motion failed 45-54 because all Democrats opposed it. Read it all...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday blasted Democratic efforts to pass new gun control laws, vowing that a bill Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) plans to bring to the floor next month was “going nowhere.”

Graham singled out universal background checks as the reason he and other Republicans would vote against or filibuster the legislation. Graham argued that existing laws on background checks should be enforced before those laws are expanded.

The guest list has not been made public, but aides say it includes Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Dan Coats of Indiana and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.

“I have a dogsled ready to go,” McCain joked Wednesday.

Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator John McCain are calling for NATO to assassinate Muammar Gaddafi.

(Telegraph) — Senior western leaders called for Nato to adopt an assassination policy against Col Muammar Gaddafi to salvage the bombing campaign in Libya from a descent into stalemate.

The calls came as Col Gaddafi was reported to have strengthened his grip on power by repatriating billions of dollars in overseas assets that should have been frozen by UN sanctions.

On Sunday, there was growing pressure on Coalition forces to directly target Col Gaddafi with military strikes.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican member of the Senate Armed Services committee, said that the quickest way to end the emerging stalemate was to “cut the head of the snake off”. He said: “The people around Gaddafi need to wake up every day wondering, ‘Will this be my last?’

Senator John McCain, who visited Libya at the weekend, also said that the Libyan dictator should be targeted...
