If true, it makes sense. Romney is too liberal for Cain and, for some unknown reason, Cain seems to dislike Perry. That leaves Gingrich as the most viable candidate. I expect many of Cain's followers to go to Perry anyway. He is considered more conservative than Newt on many issues; such as climate change, health insurance mandate and even illegal immigration.

Newt Gingrich to benefit most if Cain drops out

Newt Gingrich stands to benefit if Herman Cain were to withdraw or lose support in the Republican presidential race, according to a Public Policy Poll released on Tuesday.

Gingrich has a much better favorability rating with Cain supporters than does Mitt Romney. Seventy-three percent of Cain supporters view Gingrich favorably, while only 33 percent have a favorable view of Romney.

Gingrich is also the consensus second choice among Cain voters, with 37 percent saying Gingrich would be their back-up to Cain, compared to 14 percent for Michele Bachmann, 13 percent for Romney, and 12 percent for Perry.

Democrats outraged Herman Cain refers to Nancy Pelosi as “Princess Nancy”

He should have called her a witch.

(Ballot Box) — Democrats are hoping that indignation over Herman Cain’s nickname for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will translate into cash in the bank.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent supporters a fundraising pitch on Thursday calling Cain out for referring to the former House speaker as “Princess Nancy.”

“That’s outrageous. As the first and only woman Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has spent decades standing up for women and fighting for the middle class,” wrote DCCC Executive Director Robby Mook. “She earned the Speaker’s gavel.”

Supporters were also invited to sign a petition denouncing Cain’s comment.

There’s a clear double standard on sex allegations for presidential candidates in the New York Times.

The Times put 15-year-old anonymous accusations of sexual harassment against GOP candidate Herman Cain on the front page Tuesday morning, in an off-lead story by Jim Rutenberg and Michael Shear written with help from five other reporters: “Cain Confronts Claim From 90s Of Harassment – He Denies Wrongdoing – Account of Settlement Changes – Reports Rock Campaign.”

The prominent story comes just one full day after the allegations first surfaced on Politico Sunday evening. The Times was also eager during Campaign 2008 to advance sex rumors against Republican John McCain, who was on his way to clinching the GOP nomination.
By contrast, the paper’s treatment of better-substantiated allegations of adultery against Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards were ignored until the candidate himself was compelled to confess.

On February 21, 2008 the Times attempted to take down the McCain campaign with a front-page story focused on McCain’s alleged affair with a lobbyist, which promptly fizzled out among conservatives and liberals alike, who dismissed it as a strained mix of sex innuendo and old news. For its affair innuendo, the Times relied on two anonymous former staffers who admit “they had become disillusioned with the senator.”

By contrast, more substantiated and damaging allegations about 2008 Democratic presidential candidate (and 2004 Democratic Party choice for vice president) John Edwards were ignored for ten months by the paper until the candidate himself confessed to adultery on ABC News in August 2008.

Herman Cain's Church is almost as bad as Obama's Reverend Wright's Church

Are all black churches led by a bunch of liberals? Perhaps this is the source of Herman Cain's "blacks are brainwashed" comment.

Atlanta (CNN) – Herman Cain has vaulted to the top of the polls as a Republican presidential candidate, but there’s one audience that may prove tougher for him to win over: his hometown church.

Cain, a conservative who recently said African-Americans were “brainwashed” into voting Democratic, is an associate minister at an Atlanta megachurch that has been a stronghold of liberal activism and is led by a pastor who cites Malcolm X as one of his influences.

Cain is a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church North, which sits near the former college and home of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

The church, founded by freed slaves 134 years ago, boasts 14,000 members and an operating budget of more than $5 million. For years Antioch has hosted a “who’s who” of civil rights activists as guest speakers, including Jesse Jackson and Andrew Young.

Antioch’s powerful senior pastor, the Rev. C.M. Alexander, doesn’t share Cain’s political philosophy, Atlanta clergy say. But Cain and Alexander are so close that Cain sang “The Impossible Dream” for the pastor’s 50th anniversary celebration. The Atlanta businessman-turned-presidential hopeful is well liked by many members of his church, though some disagree with his politics, Antioch pastors say.

The man behind Herman Cain's 9 9 9 Tax Plan is Richard Lowrie, Jr. Mr. Lowrie is a small town financial adviser currently working for Wells Fargo. He was named in the economic policy debate when Cain was talking about his 9 9 9 Tax Plan.

Cain name-checked Richard Lowrie during Tuesday night's Republican debate on economic policy, and his campaign confirmed to HuffPost that Richard Lowrie Jr., a Wells Fargo employee in Pepper Pike, Ohio, outside of Cleveland, was the official adviser to his campaign who hammered out the "9-9-9" plan. The plan calls for creating a new 9 percent federal sales tax on everything consumers buy, while cutting the corporate tax rate to 9 percent and imposing a flat 9 percent income tax on all wages.

Richard Lowrie has donated over $40,000 to Republicans since 1996. He gave Mitt Romney $2300 in 2007. He gave Herman Cain $500 in May of this year.

Cain: That Deadly Fence Thing Was a Joke or Something

(NYT)- At two campaign rallies in Tennessee on Saturday night, the Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said that part of his immigration policy would be to build an electrified fence on the country’s border with Mexico that could kill people trying to enter the country illegally.

But by Sunday morning, in a dramatic change of tone, Mr. Cain, a former restaurant executive, said he was only kidding.

“That’s a joke,” Mr. Cain told the journalist David Gregory during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he was asked about the electrified fence. “That’s not a serious plan. I’ve also said America needs to get a sense of humor.”

Mr. Cain’s attempt to pass off incendiary comments as nothing but a joke may take more effort, however. In making the initial remarks about an electrified fence killing illegal immigrants, Mr. Cain was detailed and repetitive. He did not introduce his thoughts as anything but serious commentary, beginning with the words, “We have a crisis of illegal immigration.”

HOUSTON — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said on Thursday that he would definitely consider an invitation to run as the eventual nominee’s vice president, except if the nominee turns out to be Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Cain, who rocketed to the top tier of the GOP field in several recent polls, was asked by reporters on the campaign trail for his thoughts on a hypothetical invitation to run as the eventual nominee’s No. 2. After offering the obligatory comment that he intends to be the nominee, Cain said, “Quite frankly, based upon Governor Perry’s position on some issues, I would not be comfortable being his vice presidential nominee.”

Cain said his concerns about Perry include “being soft on the border, issues relative to tuition for children of illegal aliens.” As governor, Perry supported legislation offering in-state college tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, which has become a flash point in the campaign. “And I haven’t totally gone through all of his positions, but a lot of positions I have questions with,” Cain said.

Cain is correct. African-Americans pull the Democrat lever at elections even though Democrats are not working for their best interests. Whites, not Blacks, collect greatest share of public aid dollars. The welfare state is hindering African-Americans from succeeding; not helping. African-Americans needs jobs, low taxes and opportunity the same as white Americans. They have been brainwashed by the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters and others.

Washington (CNN) — The one African-American running for the GOP presidential nomination said Wednesday the black community was ‘brainwashed’ for traditionally siding with liberal politicians.

“African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded, not even considering a conservative point of view,” Cain said on CNN’s “The Situation Room” in an interview airing Wednesday between 5–7 p.m. ET. “I have received some of that same vitriol simply because I am running for the Republican nomination as a conservative. So it’s just brainwashing and people not being open minded, pure and simple.”

Cain went on to explain that his interactions with African Americans led him to be optimistic about his own chances with the demographic.

“This whole notion that all African-Americans are not going to vote for Obama is not necessarily true,” Cain said.

Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll

If you need proof Republicans and Tea Partiers are not racist, this straw poll is ample evidence. Conservatives will support a conservative candidate. Race has nothing to do with it. Cain has impressed many Republicans with his solid debate performances and strong conservative principles. Tea Party opposition to President Obama is rooted in Obama's liberal background and policies, not his color. Perry came in second and Romney third.

ORLANDO — Former Godfather Pizza CEO Herman Cain won the Presidency 5 straw poll here Saturday, delivering a blow to Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s frontrunner status and a victory for a candidate who has struggled to transform his grassroots popularity into strong showings in national polls.

“Tonight’s winner is Herman Cain,” Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced. “It shows you something, the road to the White House come through Florida, and it pays to spend time here.”
He received 37 percent of the more than 2,600 votes cast.

“Thank you to the Republican voters for this incredible honor of being named the winner of the Presidency 5 straw poll in Florida today,” Mr. Cain said. “This is a sign of our growing momentum and my candidacy that cannot be ignored. I will continue to share my message of ‘common-sense solutions’ across this country and look forward to spending more time in Florida, a critical state for both the nomination and the general election.”

The two national frontrunners — Mr. Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — placed second and third. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, meanwhile, landed in fourth place; Rep. Herman Cain: "...the worst economic ‘recovery’ in American history”

Herman Cain nails it with this statement. The very scary jobs chart posted above proves this is the worst recovery since WW2.

(The State Column) — Herman Cain, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination and the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, slammed Obama’s handling of the economy in a response to the June jobs report which was released today by the U.S. Department of Labor. Today’s jobs report said that unemployment increased from 9.1 percent to 9.2 percent in the month of June. The jobs report “confirms what most Americans already know: we still have a long way to go and a lot of work to do,” Obama said about the unsettling news.

Cain expressed his dissatisfaction with the June jobs report by stating that “this is demonstrably and empirically the worst economic ‘recovery’ in American history.” Cain, who helped Godfather’s Pizza and Burger King back on their feet, was horrified that the economy had generated only 18,000 net jobs in the month of June. Cain added that “these figures do not even include those who have simply given up on finding work or are underemployed, scraping to get by.”
