A senior al-Qaida official and potential successor to the group’s leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed Friday morning in a Predator drone strike, according to reports on jihadi web forums and U.S. officials.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Hussainan, aka Abu-Zaid al Kuwaiti, was killed in Pakistan while eating breakfast, according to the accounts. The 46-year-old cleric was seen as part of the “very top tier” of al-Qaida’s remaining leaders in the wake of the death of Osama bin Laden, according to one expert on the terror group.

The news was first announced on an al-Qaida web forum early Friday. “We celebrate to you the news of the martyrdom of the working scholar Shaykh Khalid al-Hussainan (Abu Zaid al-Kuwaiti) while eating his Suhoor (dawn time) meal, and we ask Allah to accept him in paradise,” a post said.

Evan Kohlmann, an NBC News counterterrorism analyst, said al-Hussainan was at the forefront of a new wave of al-Qaida leadership.

“That’s a big gap in the leadership,” said Kohlmann, who is also a Justice Department consultant. “He was the last senior Al-Qaida leader in the Afghanistan-Pakistan area who was, one, from the Arabian Peninsula and, two, who had serious clerical credentials.  Now there is no obvious publicly recognizable candidate left to succeed Zawahiri.”

Obama's FBI removes Taliban leader Mullah Omar from 'Most Wanted Terrorist' list

President Obama will probably present Mullah Omar with a medal before it is over.

(Express Tribune) — The Unites States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has removed the name of Afghan Taliban supreme commander Mullah Muhammad Omar from its list of “most wanted terrorists”.

Earlier, reports about the US establishing contacts with Omar had surfaced. The reports said that the US wanted to bring the Taliban to negotiation table in order to end the conflict in Afghanistan.

So far, several claims have been made by the US about negotiations with the Taliban, but Islamabad and Kabul have never been taken into confidence over the much speculated-about talks.

According to reports, the US had offered Taliban control over the south of Afghanistan, while leaving the north for the other political forces under American influence. However, this was rejected by the Taliban.

After 10 months of secret dialogue with Afghanistan’s Taliban insurgents, senior US officials said the talks have reached a “critical juncture” and they will soon know whether a breakthrough is possible, leading to peace talks whose ultimate goal is to end the Afghan war.

Mohammed Babar only served 4 years and 8 months of what should have been 30 to 70 years in prison. Babar helped set up the terrorist training camp where Mohammad Sidique Khan, the leader of the 2005 London suicide bombers, learned to make explosives. After being caught, he testified against the London bombers.

(ABC News) — The U.S. government formally requested the early release of a convicted terrorist from federal prison, even though the terrorist admitted that he continued to support the killing of U.S. soldiers serving in Muslim countries.

Mohammed Babar, born and raised in New York City, was arrested in 2004 and pled guilty to four counts of providing material support to al Qaeda and one count of providing funds to Al Qaeda. After Babar had served four years and eight months, he was released on bail in late 2008.

In late 2010, the government filed a sealed request for leniency for Babar because of his “extraordinary cooperation” in terror investigations, asking for an “appropriate reduction” in his sentence even though federal sentencing guidelines indicate a sentence of 30 to 70 years in prison. The letter, now unsealed, notes that he was critical in securing conviction in four cases in three countries.

After the request, a judge sentenced Babar to 10 years of supervised release and a court fee of $500.

(Kuwait News Agency) — A man killed himself, his brother and injured another person, after an improvised explosive device he was handling, while in his car went off, west of the Iraqi city of Al-Nasiriya, 360 km south of the capital.

The car, which was claimed to have belonged to an ex-militant, exploded outside his home, killing himself, his brother and wounding a third person, in addition to damaging his own property, according to an Iraqi security source.

Now city officials say they might re-think their participation in the task force — because Barack Obama is in the White House.

Reading the FBI affidavit describing Islamist terror suspect Mohamed Osman Mohamud’s plan to bomb a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square is a chilling experience. Mohamud, a Somali-born naturalized U.S. citizen who attended Oregon State University, told undercover FBI agents he dreamed of performing acts of jihad in which hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Americans would die. “Do you remember when 9/11 happened when those people were jumping from skyscrapers?” Mohamud asked the agents, according to the affidavit. “I thought that was awesome.”

"Failure is not an option" Test Case Terror Trial is an Abject Failure

Attorney General Eric Holder assured us "Failure is not an option" when it came to trials of al Qaeda terrorists on U.S. Soil. In the first test case, a man responsible for helping murder 224 people in bombings of U.S. African embassies in 1998, has been acquitted of 275 of the 276 charges. He was convicted of one relatively minor charge of conspiracy to destroy US property. In an attempt to put some lipstick on this pig, the DOJ claims they are pleased.

Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, "We respect the jury's verdict and are pleased that Ahmed Ghailani now faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a potential life sentence for his role in the embassy bombings."

In a case where Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani was facing 285 criminal counts, including hundreds of murder charges, and where Attorney General Eric Holder assured us that ‘failure is not an option,’ the jury found him guilty on only one count and acquitted him of all other counts including every murder charge.

“This tragic verdict demonstrates the absolute insanity of the Obama Administration’s decision to try al-Qaeda terrorists in civilian courts.

Gitmo isn't closing and Khalid Sheik Mohammed isn't coming to the U.S for trial

President Obama has broken many of his campaign promises. For instance, he promised to never raise taxes on Americans making less than $200,000 a year or $250,000 for couples. He has broken that promise multiple times. He broke it the first time when he raised federal taxes on cigarettes. Obama broke that promise several times in the Obamamcare health care bill. Taxes were raised on tanning, medical devices and so-called Cadillac health plans. If an extension of the Bush tax cuts isn't passed by year end, middle-class taxpayers face a gargantuan tax hike at the first of the year. Also, Obama's debt commission has suggested a trillion dollars in new taxes.



One campaign promise I can live with President Obama breaking is the promise to close Guantanamo and reject the Military Commission Act. There was little chance of Obama closing Gitmo before this last election. That slim chance has died. Also, President Obama may be forced to reopen the Military commissions or indefinitely hold terrorists without trial.

Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, will probably remain in military detention without trial for the foreseeable future, according to Obama administration officials.

The administration has concluded that it cannot put Mohammed on trial in federal court because of the opposition of lawmakers in Congress and in New York. There is also little internal support for resurrecting a military prosecution at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The latter option would alienate liberal supporters.

Four Taliban militants were killed as their explosive device went off prematurely in militants hub Helmand province in south Afghanistan on Tuesday, Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Four enemies of Afghanistan were killed while planting a mine to target innocent Afghans in Nad Ali district of Helmand but their device exploded prematurely killing all on the spot,”the statement added.

In a similar incident four militants lost their lives when a mine they were planting on a road in the northern Balkh province on Saturday exploded prematurely.

A terrorist commander involved in a 2002 attack on the Karachi US Consulate has blown himself up in an accident at his guesthouse. May he enjoy his 72 camels in Hell.

MSNBC reported:

Pakistani militant commander, Qari Zafar, who was allegedly involved in the attack on the U.S. consulate in Karachi on March 2, 2002, was killed by an explosive in North Waziristan a few days ago.

The United States had announced $5 million award for his capture. Zafar belonged to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and was wanted by the government for several terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including masterminding the Marriott Hotel bombing.

His close aides confirmed he was killed as he touched some explosives dumped inside his guesthouse. Militant sources said a meeting of Punjabi Taliban was in progress in North Waziristan to choose his replacement.

Did you notice how hard Democrats and those on the left are working to spin the Times Square bombing as a success for the Obama administration. The truth is it was a total intelligence failure and there was nothing authorities did that saved any lives. Certainly, the police and bystanders and authorities reacted bravely and effectively once the bomb was discovered, but the thing that saved lives was the failure of the device to explode. Bystanders saw smoke after the detonation failure and called authorities who safely disarmed the device. If the bomb had blew up, many would have died. Then, we barely caught the man responsible before he fled the country. His overseas flight was already taxiing for takeoff and had to be returned to the gate. If the device had detonated, the evidence would have been much more time consuming to sort out and Faisal Shahzad would have likely escaped to the Middle East.

Oops! Palestinian Terrorists Miss Israel and Hit Gaza Strip.

Palestinian terrorists launched mortar shells at Israel, but they hit their own territory. Six Palestinians were wounded, on critically.

Haaretz reported:

Six mortar shells were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, but landed in Palestinian territory and injured six Gazans, according to Palestinian sources.

The mortar shells were aimed toward the Eshkol region of the western Negev, but landed in on Palestinian land, one of them hitting a house in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun, sending shrapnel flying and lighting a small fire inside.

Six Palestinians were injured, one of them seriously, Gaza emergency services chief Mo'aweya Hassanein said.
