Why are taxpayers funding family members of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev attending his trial?

As mush as $100,000 may have been spemt for travel. hotels and security to allow family members of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to attend his trial. This is outrageous. Who is the idiot who made this decision?

Via FOX 25 Boston
The family of the convicted marathon bomber is in America, on your tax dollars, and survivors are outraged after learning the news.
As of Thursday, family members of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been staying at the Hampton Inn in Revere under very tight security, just one of the things tax dollars are paying for. FOX25’s Sharman Sacchetti investigated how much this trip is costing you.
Sources say these family members are being called as witnesses and not only that, at least three agencies are working around the clock to protect and transport them. This is all part of the defense team’s strategy to save Tsarnaev. While it’s unclear when their flight started, we know the last part of it came through Amsterdam and landed at Logan Airport and cost nearly $2,500 per person.
The cost to put them up at the Hampton Inn at the government rate: almost $200 per night, per person. And a source says at least three agencies, the FBI, US Marshal’s and Revere Police are involved in constant protection.
“I think you’re probably talking about $100,000 plus in that neighborhood in terms of security and out of pocket costs associated with travel,” former US attorney Michael Sullivan said. Keep on reading...

63% don't want Benghazi suspect Ahmed Abu Khattala treated like a common criminal..

The same poll finds 53% want to keep Gitmo open.
Via The Hill:
More than 6 in 10 people believe the captured Benghazi attack suspect is an enemy combatant who should be tried by military commission.
According to a Fox News poll released Wednesday night, 63 percent want Ahmed Abu Khattala tried by military tribunal, and 29 percent believe he is a criminal who should be tried through the U.S. court system. Another 9 percent do not know.
Earlier this month, the U.S. military and FBI captured Abu Khattala, a “key figure” involved in the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. He is the first suspect captured by the United States since the attack nearly two years ago.
Khattala is expected to face trial in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia and is faced with three criminal charges. He is currently being transferred to the states on the USS New York.

Tweets of the Day (From the Zimmerman trial)

From the Zimmerman trial (This girl is an idiot and she is the prosecution's star witness)

Zimmerman trial prosecution's star witness: White people are called crackers...

If this is the best the prosecution has, they should throw in the towel now...

Via Mediaite:
. . . The derogatory term for white people had become a focus of the Zimmerman defense team after Jeantel told the court on Wednesday that the late Trayvon Martin had referred to the defendant as a “creepy-ass cracker” shortly before his own death. Defense lawyer Don West continually grilled Jeantel over various questions related to Martin’s use of the word, ultimately culminating with the question of whether it is “normal” within her own local community to use the slur.
“In the culture that you live in, in your community, people there call white people ‘crackers’?” West asked.
“Yes, sir,” Jeantel replied.
“And do they use the n-word regularly?” he asked.
“Yes, sir.”

Ft. Hood Shooter to be forcibly shaved?

Where do you go to volunteer to help?
(ABC News) — An Army psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood will be forcibly shaved if he doesn’t remove his beard himself, a judge said Wednesday.

Maj. Nidal Hasan appeared in court Wednesday sporting a beard as he did during a court appearance last month. The beard violates Army regulations, but Hasan said it is an expression of his Muslim faith.

The judge, Col. Gregory Gross, held Hasan in contempt of court for keeping the beard and fined him $1,000. Fort Hood spokesman Chris Haug said Gross gave Hasan the choice to shave on his own or be forcibly shaved sometime before his court-martial begins Aug. 20. . . .

Former presidential candidate John Edwards has a life-threatening hair heart condition

John Edwards attorneys seek to delay his croiminal trial because he has a life-threatening hair heart condition. Let's just be thankful there isn't anything wrong with Edwards' hair. 'Breck girls' are hard to come by these days.
(CNN) -- A federal judge disclosed Friday that former presidential candidate John Edwards has a life-threatening heart condition, a court source confirmed to CNN.

Edwards had sought a delay in his criminal corruption trial, scheduled to begin this month.
Attorneys and the federal judge met in a North Carolina courtroom Friday afternoon for a status hearing regarding the pending trial of Edwards, a former U.S. senator.

Edwards appeared at Friday's hearing. His lawyers had made the motion for a delay under seal, but some of its details were publicly revealed by the judge in the open hearing.

The criminal trial has been delayed until at least March 26, according to the court source.

Great news for single guys! Amanda Knox is officially available!

Amanda Knox is now free and officially available. You must like crazy redheads and be OK with getting killed during sex though.
PERUGIA, Italy — Amanda Knox, the 24-year-old American found guilty in 2009 of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, was a free woman after an appeals court jury on Monday acquitted her and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.

Knox, 24, collapsed in tears as the jury's verdict was read.

The jury had two options to acquit: determining there wasn't enough evidence to uphold the conviction or that the pair simply didn't commit the crime. The jury determined the latter, clearing Knox and Sollecito completely.

After briefly returning to prison for a formal discharge, Knox was seen being driven away in a convoy. Rocco Girlanda, an Italian lawmaker who is close to the Knox family, said she planned to leave Italy on Tuesday.

Casey Anthony juror number 12 is in hiding

She called her employer and retired over the phone so she wouldn't have to face her coworkers. She should be ashamed. She allowed a woman who failed to report her child was missing, a child that was later found dead with duct-tape on her head, to walk. This woman told police her daughter was alive and she said had spoken to her two weeks after poor little Casey was dead. And this woman is only guilty of lying to police? The other jurors should be ashamed to show their faces too.
Now, she’s in hiding.

Juror number 12 left Florida. Her husband, fighting back tears, tells NBC News he’s not sure when she’ll return to her home in Florida.

Why? He says she fears half of her co-workers want her head on a platter.

The others may understand what she did, but she didn’t want to face them.

She was due to retire in the fall, but Juror number 12, after being released from sequestration, chose to call her boss to announce she couldn’t come to work. She didn’t feel safe.

She retired over the phone.

Albuquerque man arrested for filming TSA and refusing to show id is cleared of all charges by jury

In November 2009, Phil Mocek was arrested at the TSA checkpoint at the Albuquerque airport for refusing to show his id and filming the TSA reaction. A six woman jury has acquitted him on all charges. His attorney claimed the TSA orders were unlawful because there is no law requiring you show your papers for interstate travel. No other evidence was presented or witnesses called.

Senior Administration Official Blames Bush For Failed Trail of Terrorist Ghailani

President Bush didn't make the decision to roll the dice in the American court system.

Political Punch reported:
"So, we tried a guy (who the Bush Admin tortured and then held at GTMO for 4-plus years with no end game whatsoever) in a federal court before a NY jury with full transparency and international legitimacy and -- despite all of the legacy problems of the case (i.e., evidence getting thrown out because of Bush-Admin torture, etc,) we were STILL able to convict him and INCAPACITATE him for essentially the rest of his natural life, AND there was not one -- not one -- security problem associated with the trial."

"Failure is not an option" Test Case Terror Trial is an Abject Failure

Attorney General Eric Holder assured us "Failure is not an option" when it came to trials of al Qaeda terrorists on U.S. Soil. In the first test case, a man responsible for helping murder 224 people in bombings of U.S. African embassies in 1998, has been acquitted of 275 of the 276 charges. He was convicted of one relatively minor charge of conspiracy to destroy US property. In an attempt to put some lipstick on this pig, the DOJ claims they are pleased.
Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, "We respect the jury's verdict and are pleased that Ahmed Ghailani now faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a potential life sentence for his role in the embassy bombings."

By any normal measure, the trial was an abject failure. Jake Tapper Tweeted this.

GOP Rep. Peter King (NY) is vowing to launch an investigation.
“I am disgusted at the total miscarriage of justice today in Manhattan’s federal civilian court. In a case where Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani was facing 285 criminal counts, including hundreds of murder charges, and where Attorney General Eric Holder assured us that ‘failure is not an option,’ the jury found him guilty on only one count and acquitted him of all other counts including every murder charge.

“This tragic verdict demonstrates the absolute insanity of the Obama Administration’s decision to try al-Qaeda terrorists in civilian courts.

Obama's Plan to Try Terrorists in the U.S. is a Failure

The test case that President Obama hoped would pave the way for a U.S. trial of Khalid Sheik Mohammed and other Guantanamo terrorists has failed on all counts but one. Ahmed Ghailani, a native of Tanzania, was accused of 276 counts of murder, attempted murder and other conspiracy charges. He was acquitted on all charges except the relatively minor one of conspiracy to destroy US property. 224 people died in the attacks on two U.S. embassies in Africa in 1998.

The Washington Post reported:
The first former Guantanamo Bay detainee to be tried in federal criminal court was found not guilty on Wednesday on all but one of the 285 counts he faced for his role in the 1998 East Africa embassy bombings

How did this travesty of justice happen? Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York , a Clinton appointee, threw out key testimony because "enhanced interrogation" techniques were used. The testimony that was excluded wasn't obtained from enhanced interrogation of the defendant Ghailani. The government didn't even go down that rat hole. The testimony that was excluded was from key government witness Tanzania Hussein Abebe. Abebe was to testify that he gave Ahmed Ghailani explosives used in one of the bombings. Abebe's testimony was thrown out because the government may have learn of him through "coerced interrogation."
Today, Judge Kaplan ruled that Abebe’s testimony was fruit of a poisonous tree and could not be admitted into evidence. In reaching his decision, Judge Kaplan found that the existence of the would-be witness for the prosecution was learned through coercive interrogation of Ghailani carried out by the CIA at secret detention sites and Guantanamo, and was not convinced by the government’s arguments that it would have found the witness without the use of the coerced information or that the link between government coercion of Ghailani and the witness’ testimony was too remote to violate the Constitution. Ghailani had argued that the witness’ testimony should be excluded because the identity of the witness was obtained through coerced interrogation, in that Ghailani was denied the right to counsel and was subjected to “extremely harsh interrogation methods”. The defense classified the interrogation methods as torture.

After the failure of this trial to reach a guilty verdict on the major charges and the recent takeover of the House by Republicans, President Obama's dream of trying Khalid Sheik Mohammed and other terrorists in the U.S. is likely ended.

Demos Delay Waters, Rangel Ethics Trials Until After Election?

It appears Democrats are in no hurry to conduct ethics trials of Maxine Waters or Charles Rangel before the November election. They appear to be saving this for a lame duck session. I wonder why?

The Hill reported:

The ethics committee, according to its rules, must turn over all evidence it plans to present in a trial to the member charged at least 15 days before the beginning of the trial. Even if the panel handed over their evidence to Rangel and Waters when they return this week, the trial could not begin until the beginning of October, one month before the general election and when members plan to be home to campaign.

Khalid Sheik Mohammed Trial Moving Back to GITMO?

Objections of New York's Mayor, citizens and many Congressmen have changes the administration's position about conducting the trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and other terrorists in New York City. Reportedly, the trials may be moved back to military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay.

The NY Post Reported:
The trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed won't be held in lower Manhattan and could take place in a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, sources said last night.

WSJ: Two 9/11 Terrorists May Be Declared Unfit For Civilian Trial

The Wall Street Journal is warning Ramzi Binalshibh(pictured left) and Mustafa al-Hawsawi(pictured right) may be declared mentally unfit to stand trial. Their attorneys are claiming mental problems and harsh treatment by the CIA has left them unfit for trial.

From The WSJ:

Military lawyers for Ramzi Binalshibh, an accused organizer of the 9/11 plot, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi, the conspiracy's alleged paymaster, say their clients have mental disorders that make them unfit for trial, likely caused or exacerbated by years of harsh confinement in Central Intelligence Agency custody.

This is more evidence AG Eric Holder is clueless and only trying to score points with the political left by classifying 'Jihadists' as common criminals.

Dumb Democrat Feinstien Claims KSM Trial Won't Be A Show Trial

Actually, Sen. Feinstien isn't that dumb. She knows the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other four terrorists is nothing but a show trial. She is being disingenuous. People might ask, "What is trying to be 'shown' in this 'show trial?'" AG Eric Holder is trying to make a point that there is no war on terror, 9-11 had nothing to do with Islam and these are just errant individuals who should be treated as common criminals.
