Obvious: NC state legislators want to keep liquor stores open on Labor day because of Democratic National Convention

If Obama was my party's nominee, I would need a drink too.
(AP) — A bipartisan group of Charlotte-area state legislators want to make sure the thousands of political animals who will pack the city for the Democratic National Convention can buy liquor on Labor Day.

The proposed legislation would keep Alcoholic Beverage Control stores in Mecklenburg County open on Labor Day Monday for this year only. The state's alcohol control system requires ABC stores to close on Sundays and five holidays.
