Shocking: AP uses weasel words when describing al-Qaida role in 9-11

AP should quit pandering to Muslims and report the facts.

Via Daily Caller:
More than a decade after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the Associated Press doesn’t seem prepared to definitely pin the blame on al-Qaida, at least in print.
In an article published late Monday night about a mock movie poster warning that al-Qaida wants to return to New York City, the AP wouldn’t definitively state al-Qaida was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. “Al-Qaida has been blamed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which destroyed the World Trade Center and killed thousands of people,” the article reads.
Asked to respond to the “has been blamed” formulation, AP director of Media Relations Paul Colford told The Daily Caller in an email: “We don’t doubt that AQ was behind 9/11.”
Yet a search on Lexis-Nexis found numerous similar word choices in AP stories suggesting that it is not a fact that al-Qaida was responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks.

In 2004, Osama Bin Laden admitted responsibility for 9-11 on an 18 minute tape.
In the 18-minute tape, bin Laden, who appeared to be sitting or standing at a table against a neutral background, said: "Despite entering the fourth year after Sept. 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened."
Bin Laden said he thought of the method of attacking U.S. skyscrapers when he saw Israeli aircraft bombing tower blocks in Lebanon in 1982.

"We decided to destroy towers in America," he said. "God knows that it had not occurred to our mind to attack the towers, but after our patience ran out and we saw the injustice and inflexibility of the American-Israeli alliance toward our people in Palestine and Lebanon, this came to my mind."

Although there was no way to authenticate the tape or say when it was made, it referenced the upcoming presidential election.
