“It doesn’t matter how many times he hears the truth, Mitt Romney prefers to tell lies,” Bashir said after castigating Mitt Romney as a liar three times.
“Which brings us to the moral codes of Mormonism that Mr. Romney claims to live by. In Section 63, in verse 17 of the Doctrine and Covenants of the Mormon Church we find this: ‘All liars, and whosoever loveth and and maketh a lie, and the whoremonger, and the sorcerer, shall have their part in that lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death.’
“And from the Book of Mormon to Nephi, Chapter 2, Verse 34 we find this: ‘Wo unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell.’
“Given what the Book of Mormon is clearly saying, Mr. Romney has but two choices. He can either keep lying and potentially win the White House, but bring eternal damnation upon himself or he can start telling the truth. The question for him, I guess, is which is more important,” Bashir said on today’s broadcast of “Martin Bashir.”

Well. I know little about American politics or the state of play between the Presidential wannabees and the rave for the White House, but this I do know. Martin Bashir has no place calling others liars, when he is one himself, bigtime. Whatever the accuracy of the facts here, Mitt Romney would not be the only one damned to hell by the Morman Church. People have long memories, particularly of 2005 when a certain famous talented deceased entertainer ended up in court fighting for his life because of Bashir's lies. Michael Jackson was totally innocent and was proved so, but he was traumatised by the experience resulting from that twisted documentary edited by Bashir and was never the same again. Four short years later he was dead and the world lost a great man, humanitarian and world-changing 'voice'.
Look who's talking about lying.....Mr. Bashir could better take a long look in the mirror before he accuses someone else of lying!
In 2003, Bashir conducted a series of interviews with pop singer Michael Jackson, as part of a documentary for ITV. Following the broadcast, which was viewed by 14 million in the UK and 38 million in the US, several media personalities accused Bashir of yellow journalism, claiming that he deliberately doctored the recordings in order to paint Jackson in an unflattering light, as well as emphasizing the allegations of child molestation made against Jackson. The New York Times called Bashir's journalism style "callous self-interest masked as sympathy."
In response, Jackson and his personal cameraman released a rebuttal interview, which showed Bashir complimenting Jackson for the "spiritual" quality of the Neverland Ranch, thus contradicting the journalist's previous statements that it was a "dangerous place" for children. In this rebuttal interview Bashir also describes Jackson as a wonderful father and says that Jackson's relationship with his children "almost makes him weep".
Dieter Wiesner, the pop star's manager from 1996 to 2003, made this statement about the influence of Bashir's documentary on Michael Jackson:
"It broke him. It killed him. He took a long time to die, but it started that night. Previously the drugs were a crutch, but after that they became a necessity."
Bashir later said of Jackson during ABC's coverage of his death,
"When I made the documentary, there was a small part that contained a controversy concerning his relationship with young people. But the truth is that he was never convicted of any crime, and I never saw any wrongdoing myself."
