Guess who are "Birthers" now? (NYT's and WaPo!)

Look who is blowing the "Birther" horn now.

I say we let the Supreme Court decide who is a natural born citizen. The Constitution isn't clear and never defines the term. The possibilities are:

A: Must have one citizen parent, but can be born anywhere.
B. Must have two citizen parents, but can be born anywhere.
C. Must be born on US soil, but can have noncitizen parents.
D. Must be born on US soil, but can have only one citizen parent.
E. Must be born on US soil and have both citizen parents.

Cruz fits A. Obama fits D. Neither are natural born citizens under definition E. There have been several questions recently about candidates. John McCain fits B. The Senate passed a resolution in 2008 declaring him a natural born citizen. It didn't carry the force of law. Several people have tried to have the courts consider if Barack Obama is a natural born citizen, but the cases have been dismissed due to "Lack of standing."

BGP,

I commented on the other Cruz story and it did not get posted.

The ONLY answer is E.

"Natural Born" means PURE BRED.

You can mix a poodle and a doberman, and you still have a dog, but it is neither a poodle, or a doberman, it is a MUTT.

Two citizens parentS, born on US soil equals a PURE bred, or Natural born citizen.

The Founders did NOT want someone of dual citizenship to become President, or they wouldn't have added the part that states, "or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President"

No need for this added verbage if ANY citizen could become President.

Cruz was born in Canada (strike one), to parents who were Cuban and American (strike two), which means he was a dual citizen (strike three, he's out) at the time of birth.

Why is it so hard for us to understand this?

The Constitution means nothing these days.

I won't be voting for Cruz, even if I thought he was the best man for the job. There are plenty of areas Cruz can work to get the Country turned around.

Maybe he should look in to one of those.

And I'm no liberal, just someone who has read and researched.

Jindal and Rubio are also INeligible.
