Obama Forgives Reid for Racial Remark, but Was Less Forgiving of Republicans.

President Obama quickly forgave Harry Reid for his “Negro dialect” remark.
”I accepted Harry’s apology without question.”

When Don Imus apologized for making the famous "nappy-headed hos" remark, Obama called for Imus to be fired.
"I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus," Obama told ABC News, "but I would also say that there's nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude."

Senator Obama was also very harsh on Trent Lott's remarks praising Senator Strom Thurmond. Lott said that the United States would have avoided "all these problems" if then-segregationist Strom Thurmond had been elected president in 1948. In 2002, Senator Obama called on the Republican Party to "drive out" Trent Lott:
"The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party."

When it comes to racial statements, President Obama seems to have a double-standard.
