WH claims children should not be used as pawns in gun control debate; released letters from kids pleading for gun control...

Weapons grade hypocrisy alert...
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House condemned as "repugnant and cowardly" an ad by the National Rifle Association that mentions President Barack Obama's children as receiving armed Secret Service protection.[..]
"Most Americans agree that a president's children should not be used as pawns in a political fight. But to go so far as to make the safety of the president's children the subject of an attack ad is repugnant and cowardly," White House spokesman Jay Carney said. Perhaps the White House means only Obama's children should not be used as political pawns. other children are fair game. This level of hypocrisy is the exact point of this NRA ad.

Via The Weekly Standard:
The White House today released letters from little kids pleading for gun control, just hours before President Obama is to release a comprehensive proposal to limit guns and ammunition. The letters were released to the Associated Press in what appears to be a coordinated effort to help shape the narrative the day of Obama's announcement.
